Our Champions for the Week:
(from February 21 - 27, 2022)
The Church of Our Lady of Candelaria, was founded in 1708, its architectural style is visibly neoclassical, it is located in the center of Caracas, in the homonymous Urbanization, in front of Rafael Urdaneta Avenue. This catholic temple depends ecclesiastically on the arciprestazgo de la Catedral, a subdivision of the Archdiocese of Caracas. It was built by Canarian migrants, for that reason it bears the name of its patron saint.
Spread across acers of government authorised land, stands these temporary sheltered market with talented artisans showcasing their collection. The word BANJARA stands for a nomadic trading tribe. These are the group of people who sell their art. Being an architect this place has always bought a curiosity in me and finally I could make a visit there. It was a two hour drive from home but all worth it.
A few days ago, I was bored and decided to stroll around. My feet brought me inside A Little Tea, a milk tea shop. I have shared previously about the enlightening experience I had inside the shop. As to why I went to A Little Tea was of chance, I think it was purely a perfect moment to allow me to think and relieve the boredom I was experiencing at that time. I was adrift in the moment while ordering black sugar milk tea that I wasn't paying attention to the server and blurt out a response not suited for the question. So much for that "lutang" moment.
