Our Champions for the Week:
(from November 1 - 7, 2021)
Ronda is a village in the province of Malaga, situated in the mountains of the same province with an impressive gorge that divides Ronda in two parts. Or so it had been until the fantastic new bridge of Ronda was built, but it was not the first. A great bridge with heights of approximately 100 metres and spanning approximately 35 metres from end to end. If we remember Roman history, they were the great scholars of bridges among many other colossal works.
Spain was one of the countries that responded to this appeal and maintained an active collaboration with the Egyptian Government, so that, once the work was completed, it decided to reward the Spanish collaboration, donating this small, but no less interesting temple, which was originally located very close to the first waterfall and the great religious center dedicated to the figure of the Goddess Isis, on the island of Filé.
However, the cathedral was not finished in its entirety since the original foundations were not capable of supporting the towers that were part of the design of the temple. Reinforcement of the foundations and recovery of structures were carried out respecting the original design, and it was not until 1999 that both towers were completed and the cathedral was reopened to more than 150,000 people.
