Hola a todos, espero se encuentren bien. Hoy con la ocasión de ser 1ro de mayo, día del trabajador en muchos países, me parece propicia la ocasión de contarles un poco de aquellas cositas que he logrado aprender y hacer y que me hacen sentir muy bien.
Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well. Today, on the occasion of May 1st, Workers' Day in many countries, it seems appropriate to tell you a little of those skills that I have managed to learn and do and that make me feel very good.
Siempre me he considerado una persona “echada pa’lante” como llamamos en mi país a aquellos que son emprendedores, que no se detienen ante nada y que siempre están haciendo o aprendiendo algo nuevo. Desde mi adolescencia empecé a realizar pequeños trabajos para ganarme mi propio dinero y comprarme lo que quisiera, ya que como a muchos, mis padres me proveían lo necesario pero no podían cumplir mis “caprichos” (salidas con amigos, ropa nueva, accesorios de cualquier clase, etc) así que vendía helados en la casa, o pulseritas en el liceo y cosas así. Ya cuando empecé la universidad comencé a pensar en que podría hacer que tuviera un horario flexible y me permitiera asistir a mis clases con normalidad, y fue como conseguí mi primer trabajo no oficial como “embaladora” esto simplemente consistía en colocar en bolsas los productos que las personas compraban en el supermercado. El lugar no nos pagaba un sueldo pero tampoco nos exigía un horario estricto, de hecho solo trabajaba en las tardes de lunes a viernes y si tenía alguna clase en ese horario podía faltar sin problemas. La ganancia que se obtenía allí venia de los mismos clientes que nos daban “propinas” por embolsarles las cosas. De esta forma pude obtener un buen ingreso por varios años, ya que cuando por algún motivo ya no podía trabajar en un supermercado, me iba a otro jaja.
I have always considered myself a "going forward" person as we call in my country to those who are entrepreneurs, who do not stop at anything and who are always doing or learning something new. Since I was a teenager I started doing small jobs to earn my own money and buy whatever I wanted, since like many, my parents provided me with the necessary but could not fulfill my "whims" (going out with friends, new clothes, accessories of any kind, etc.) so I sold ice cream at home, or bracelets at school and things like that.When I started college I began to think about what I could do that had a flexible schedule and allowed me to attend my classes normally, and that's how I got my first unofficial job as a "packer" this simply consisted of placing in bags the products that people bought in a supermarket. The place did not pay us a salary but did not require a strict schedule, in fact I only worked in the afternoons from Monday to Friday and if I had a class during that time I could skip work without any problems. The profit that was obtained there came from the same customers who gave us "tips" for bagging things for them.In this way I was able to earn a good income for several years, and when for some reason I could no longer work in a supermarket, I would go to another one haha.
Mis amigas y yo en el supermercado cuando eramos "embaladoras" por allá en 2013 | My friends and I at the supermarket when we were "packers" back in 2013.Igualmente cuando me fui a vivir a otro estado un par de años, gracias a esta “habilidad” fue que pude pagar mis gastos básicos y podía regresar a mi casa cuando tenía vacaciones de la universidad. Allá también me tocó vender café en las calles del centro de la ciudad y en otra ocasión trabaje unos meses de mesera.
Also when I went to live in another state for a couple of years, thanks to this "skill" I was able to pay my basic expenses and I could return home when I had vacations from college. There I also had to sell coffee in the streets of downtown and another time I worked as a waitress for a few months.

Pero la historia no termina allí, a lo que quería llegar con esta poco breve introducción es que siempre he sentido esa motivación de hacer las cosas por mi misma, aprender y aplicar esos conocimientos, en este sentido puedo decir que hasta podría ser carpintera si tuviera quien me enseñara. Desde que vivo sola (prácticamente desde los 19, ahora tengo 27) he aprendido muchas cosas que me han sido de utilidad, algunas solo han sido inventando o de ensayo y error, viendo tutoriales.
After that I had other jobs, but currently I work as many do, independently from home. But the story does not end there, what I wanted to get to with this not very brief introduction is that I have always felt that motivation to do things by myself, learn and apply that knowledge, in this sense I can say that I could even be a carpenter if I had someone to teach me. Since I live alone (practically since I was 19, now I am 27) I have learned many things that have been useful to me, some have only been inventing or trial and error, watching tutorials.
Cerámicas colocadas por mi en el porche de mi casa, realicé una parte en 2017 y otra en 2019, supongo que este año debo hacer la 3ra parte jaja. | Ceramics placed by me on the porch of my house, I realized a part in 2017 and another in 2019, I guess this year I should do the 3rd part haha.Hasta ahora puedo decir que aparte de jardinera, bloguera y FreeLancer soy algo de plomera, electricista y albañil y aquí les muestro algunos trabajos que realice en mi casa recientemente con ayuda de mi pareja. Había unas cuantas cosas que arreglar y preferimos probar haciéndolo nosotras mismas que buscar a alguien que lo hiciera, la verdad es que eran trabajos sencillos y nos ahorramos un gasto, además resulta gratificante hacer algo por primera vez y que quede bien, es como si se te abrieran los ojos a mas cosas y te das cuentas que si eres capaz de algo sencillo, puedes ir avanzando poco a poco a cosas más complejas.
So far I can say that apart from gardener, blogger and Freelancer I am something of a plumber, electrician and bricklayer and here I show you some work I did in my house recently with the help of my partner. There were a few things to fix and we preferred to try doing it ourselves rather than looking for someone to do it, the truth is that they were simple jobs and we saved an expense, it is also rewarding to do something for the first time and it comes out well, it is as if you open your eyes to more things and you realize that if you are capable of something simple, you can gradually move on to more complex things.
Primera tarea, cambiar la llave del lavaplatos, esto fue lo mas facil de todo.
First task, change the sink faucet, this was the easiest of all.

Segunda tarea, cambiar la llave del lavamanos.
No voy a mentir, esto dió bastante trabajo.

I'm not going to lie, this was a lot of work.
Batallamos un buen rato.
Hasta que mi papá me dijo que debiamos quitar la parte de arriba del lavamanos y despues de eso, todo fue mas facil
We struggled for a while.
until my dad told me that we had to remove the top of the basin, after that everything was easier.
¡Misión cumplida!
Solo faltó colocar silicon para fijar el lavamanos. Adicionalmente ese día arreglamos una pieza del herraje del w.c. y tambien quedó bien
Mission accomplished!
The only thing left to do was to apply silicone to fix the basin. Additionally that day we fixed a piece of the w.c. ironwork and it also worked fine.
Al dia siguiente nos encargamos de colocar un par de socates.
El primero en la cocina y el otro en el baño. Hubo que romper un poco el frizo del techo y la ceramica de la pared para despejar los agujeros del cajetin para poder atornillar los socates luego.
The next day we took care of placing a couple of sockets.
The first one in the kitchen and the other one in the bathroom. We had to break a little bit the ceiling frieze and the wall tile to clear the holes of the box to be able to screw the sockets later.

A las cosas del baño les gusta pelear.
Ese socate tambien nos dio problemas pero logramos que quedara perfecto.
