Hoy el clima ha estado delicioso: el cielo encapotado de nubes, un poco de lluvia y con una temperatura que te mantiene fresco, sin demasiado frio o calor -en comparación a otros días donde siento que podría derretirme sobre la silla-, perfecto para pasar el día leyendo, dibujando o durmiendo… mi día pudo haber sido perfecto si la electricidad no hubiera estado ausente durante 9 horas seguidas.
Lamentablemente, es algo usual en mi ciudad. Siempre le digo a mi mejor amigo (@rishahp) que cuente los números del 1 al 100 –o los números que sean necesarios- para que mantenga la calma cuando esto ocurre. Por mi parte, hoy me cansé de contar, así que para desestresarme un poco y liberar mi lado creativo, me puse a dibujar, tomé una hoja y un bolígrafo negro y empecé a trazar algunas cosas prácticamente al azar, dejando que mi imaginación me llevase donde le diese la gana.
Me tomó un poco de tiempo volver a coger el ritmo de sombrear usando tramas con bolígrafo, algunos de mis dibujos anteriores han sido con grafito, lápices de colores y he hecho algunas ilustraciones con pinturas, por lo que ya empezaba a extrañar esta técnica.
¿Ven esa figura al fondo, en lo más alto de la montaña? No sé si lo lograron detectar o no, pero representa la figura de una mujer. Pensé en las pequeñas estatuillas de las venus, en especial la Venus de Willendorf, y decidí ubicarla dentro de mi dibujo, como representación de la diosa de la tierra.
El aspecto que buscaba para este dibujo era de tipo fantasioso, dibujé elementos de la naturaleza a los que traté de proporcionarles un aura intrigante, llamativo, casi mágico. No contaba con internet para buscar algunas imágenes de referencia de símbolos o figuras fantasiosas, así que solo tomé un libro de animales de mi pequeña biblioteca para referenciarme de algunas texturas de plantas y flores.
A veces no necesito mucho para que la inspiración me visite. Con un entorno tranquilo, algunos libros con imágenes que pueda usar de referencias, lápiz y papel, son el mínimo de herramientas que requiero para materializar cualquier sentimiento o idea que guardo en mi mente.
¿Mi parte favorita del dibujo? Bueno, esto no está dentro del dibujo, sino el gesto que tuvo mi papá de enmarcarlo y colocarlo en una columna de las paredes de mi casa. No es de mis mejores ilustraciones pero creo que logró tocar algo dentro de sus emociones lo que lo llevó a hacer esto; en ocasiones, el sentimiento que una obra evoca tiene más peso que el nivel de técnica con la que fue hecha.

Today the weather has been delightful: the sky overcast with clouds, a little rain and with a temperature that keeps you cool, without too much cold or heat -compared to other days where I feel like I could melt on the chair-, perfect to spend the day reading, drawing or sleeping... my day could have been perfect if the electricity had not been absent for 9 hours straight.
Unfortunately, it's a usual thing in my city. I always tell my best friend (@rishahp) to count the numbers from 1 to 100 - or whatever numbers it takes - to keep calm when this happens. As for me, today I got tired of counting, so to de-stress a bit and release my creative side, I started drawing, took a sheet of paper and a black pen and started tracing some things practically at random, letting my imagination take me wherever it pleased.
It took me a little while to get back into the rhythm of shading using pen plots, some of my previous drawings have been with graphite, colored pencils and I've done some illustrations with paints, so I was already starting to miss this technique.
Do you see that figure in the background, at the top of the mountain? I don't know if you were able to detect it or not, but it represents the figure of a woman. I thought of the small venus statuettes, especially the Venus of Willendorf, and decided to place it in my drawing, as a representation of the goddess of the earth.
The aspect I was looking for for this drawing was of a fantasy type, I drew elements of nature to which I tried to provide an intriguing, striking, almost magical aura. I didn't have the internet to look for some reference images of symbols or fantasy figures, so I just took an animal book from my small library to reference some textures of plants and flowers.
Sometimes I don't need much for inspiration to visit me. With a quiet environment, some books with images I can use as references, pencil and paper, are the minimum of tools I require to materialize any feeling or idea I keep in my mind.
My favorite part of the drawing? Well, this is not inside the drawing, but the gesture my dad had of framing it and placing it on a column on the walls of my house. It's not one of my best illustrations but I think he managed to touch something inside his emotions that led him to do this; sometimes, the feeling that a work evokes has more weight than the level of technique with which it was made.
