I made this painting in order to add it to the proposal I sent to exhibit at the Arturo Michelena museum in Caracas, Venezuela. I had a couple of months doing purely commissioned paintings and therefore my personal research was a bit paralyzed.
Me dieron dos semanas para enviar la propuesta, así que me tuve que poner a pintar esta pieza más rápido de lo que normalmente la haría. Logre terminarla en 4 días muy agotadores.
I was given two weeks to send the proposal, so I had to start painting this piece faster than I would normally do it. I managed to finish it in 4 very exhausting days.
Por suerte ya tenía el proceso de intervenir el marco en mente debido a que esta es la segunda vez que lo hago.
Luckily I already had the process of intervening the frame in mind because this is the second time I do it.
Al final no me gustó como se veían las escaleras y las quite porque quería lograr una sensación de espacio vacío en el lugar donde las había colocado antes.
In the end I didn't like how the stairs looked and removed them because I wanted to achieve a feeling of empty space where I had placed them before.
Fue seleccionada para ser expuesta, así que el maratón de pintura que tuve que hacer para que estuviera lista rindió sus frutos.
It was selected to be exhibited, so the marathon of painting I had to do to get it ready paid off.
