I’ve been busy drawing realistic portraits lately but as you know I’m a big anime fan. I must not forget to make fan art sometimes. So, I’m going to share my fan art today. Although, it doesn’t look like my usual fan art. I thought it would be fun to put a twist on it sometimes.
This crown is from my absolute favourite anime, Haikyuu!!
I love the scene from season 4 episode 7 when Hinata gives Kageyama a crown made out of his towel as he yell “From this day on you shall be known as the new King of the court!”
Well, the anime is about a high school volleyball team and Kageyama on the left is a setter.
In the beginning, he was called the king of the court because he was like a very selfish dictator then in this scene, he was welcomed by his teammates and became the new King of the court.

最近はリアル人物画を描くことに忙しい私ですが、アニメオタクな私です、時にはファンアートを描かないとソワソワしてしまいます。
ので！今日はファンアートの投稿です。と言ってもいつもと少し違いますけどね。残念ながらイケメンは描きませんでした。
王冠と聞くと何を思い出すでしょうか？
ハイキュー！！ファンの私にはこれしか思い付きません。とびおちゃんの王冠です。因みにハイキュー！！は高校バレーのお話です。
コート上の王様と呼ばれる影山飛雄くん、優れたセッターですが、チームメイトに無茶なプレーを要求し独裁者と呼ばれてしまいます。そのとびおちゃんがチームメイトに受け入れられ、第４期7話で相棒である日向くんにタオルの王冠を被せられます。新コート上の王様の誕生です。
このシーンがめちゃめちゃ好きなんです。
Anyways, let’s get to the process.
I started as a messy sketch as usual.
さてさて、さっさとお絵描きの紹介をしましょうね。
いつものようにザクザクとスケッチを始めました。
I realized that drawing an illustration that is made out of different elements needs to be drawn using multiple layers. So, I cleaned up the sketch and separated the layers by colours and parts…burgundy, gold and jewelry. Well, you can’t see that on this screen shot but now it’s easier to add shading and light.
ザクザク始めたのですが、こういうイラストはレイヤーを分けて描いた方が良いですね。というわけで、スクショではわかりませんが、レイヤーを分けて王冠の形を整えました。
After every details was drawn, I adjusted the colour and added some sparkles.
I also turned the background layer off so I can save the image with a transparent background. I drew this crown to combine with something I drew before.
細かいところを描き込んだ後、色の調節をしてキラキラを加えました。
背景のレイヤーをオフにして保存します。こうすると背景が透明になります。
これを前に描いた物と組み合わせます。

Digital painting - Crow
I imported the crown on to the canvas which the crow is drawn on and shrunks the crown so that it fits on the crow’s head.

このカラスの描いてあるキャンバスに王冠のイラストを読み込んで、カラスの頭に合うサイズに縮小します。
The high school which Kageyama plays volleyball is called Karasuno high school. Karasu means Crow in Japanese and the team is described as a murder of crow.
So here it is. The new king of the courts, my fan art is completed. He is a very proud and happy crow. I hope you like it.
I think I’m going to use this as my profile picture.
とびおちゃんの通う高校は烏野高校と言います。バレー部の皆んなはカラスと呼ばれているんです。
と言うことで、新コート上の王様ファンアート完成！
なんだか誇らしげで嬉しそうなカラスになりました。
また頑張ります。
