Hi guys, how are you? I hope you enjoyed your weekend. Some of you probably remember from my old posts, 2 years ago I visited the toy museum in Kaleiçi and shared the photos here with you. I had heard that there was another toy museum in the city and I wanted to visit that museum, but didn't get a chance. Yesterday I found myself in this toy museum by surprise 🙂 First let me tell you what happened.

Bazılarınız eski yazılarımdan hatırlayacaklardır, 2 sene öncesinde Kaleiçi'nde bulunan oyuncak müzesini gezmiş ve sizlerle burada fotoğraflarını paylaşmıştım. Şehirde başka bir oyuncak müzesi olduğunu duymuştum ve oraya da gitmek istiyordum, ama bir türlü fırsatını bulamıyordum. Dün kendimi sürpriz bir şekilde bu oyuncak müzesinde buldum 🙂 Önce neler olduğunu anlatayım.
As you know, I got my second dose of Biontech vaccine the day before. I was planning going to the movies that evening. But unfortunately my fever was so high. I tried some natural fever-reducing methods that I had seen from my mom when I was a child. But when I saw that it didn't work and my fever was getting higher, I took the medicine containing paracetamol. Then I became so drowsy and fell asleep
When I got up the next day, I didn't have a fever. I was feeling a little ... uneasy in my body, but that didn't prevent me from going to the movies. I got ready and left in the afternoon. This time I decided to go to another cinema called "Cinetime". I went to the cinema and bought my ticket. Cinetime cinema is located on the upper floor of a shopping mall called Özdilek. It was a little early, so I decided to walk outside to spend my free time. Due to the known pandemic situation, I've been cooped up in the house a lot, and I'm almost looking forward to walking in the open air. In the meantime a nearby park caught my attention. I've never been to this place before. As I was wondering what was inside, I stepped into the park and was very surprised. The toy museum I wanted to visit for a long time was right in front of me 😀 Could there be a better surprise? As if that were not enough, there were also many museums and places worth seeing in the area, such as Minicity, where miniature historical artifacts are exhibited, Modern art gallery, Once upon a time Antalya museum, Botanical park, Science center. I am very happy that I discovered this place. I felt like a fairy tale character who stepped into another world.
Bildiğiniz gibi bir gün öncesinde ikinci doz Biontech aşısını yaptırmıştım. O günün akşamı için sinemaya gitme planları yapıyordum. Maalesef akşam saatlerinde ateşim biraz fazla yükselerek 39 derecenin üstüne çıktı. Önce çocukken annemden görmüş olduğum ateş düşürme yöntemlerini denedim. Ama işe yaramadığını ve ateşimin giderek yükseldiğini görünce parasetamol içeren ilacı içtim. Sonrasında uyuyakalmışım.
Ertesi gün kalktığımda ateşim yoktu. Vücudumda hafif kırgınlık hissediyordum ama bu sinemaya gitmeme engel olamazdı. Öğleden sonra hazırlanıp çıktım. Bu kez "Cinetime" adında başka bir sinemaya gitmeye karar vermiştim. Akşama doğru sinemaya gidip biletimi aldım. Cinetime sineması Özdilek adında bir alışveriş merkezinin üst katında yer alıyor. Saat biraz erkendi, ben de boş zamanımı değerlendirme adına dışarıda biraz dolaşmaya karar verdim. Malum pandemiden dolayı çok evde kapalı kaldım, açık havada dolaşmak için adeta can atıyorum. O sırada yan tarafta bulunan bir park dikkatimi çekti. Burayı daha önce hiç gezmeiştim. İçeride neler var acaba diye merak ettiğim için parka adımımı attım ve çok şaşırdım. Uzun süredir gitmek istediğim oyuncak müzesi tam karşımda duruyordu 😀 Bundan daha güzel bir sürpriz olabilir miydi. Yetmezmiş gibi parkta ayrıca minyatür tarihi eserlerin sergilendiği Minicity, Modern sanatlar galerisi, Bir zamanlar Antalya müzesi, Botanik park, Bilim merkezi ... gibi çok sayıda müze ve görmeye değer yer bulunuyormuş. Burayı keşfettiğime çok mutlu oldum. Kendimi başka bir dünyaya adım atmış masal karakteri gibi hissettim.
My time was only enough for the open air museum and the toy museum. Actually, it wasn't enough. Because there are thousands of toys in this museum. I should definitely come here again. I was so thrilled I discovered this nice museum that took me back to my childhood. I remembered my toy stories. I was also fascinated when I read the story of these toys. Everyone in the museum was just like me. They was walking through the museum with their eyes full of nostalgia. Children were also very happy. Everything they said made me laugh so much. One of them said that the toys here belonged to his mom 🙂
Zamanım sadece açık hava müzesi ve oyuncak müzesine yetti. Aslında yetmedi. Çünkü bu oyuncak müzesinde binlerce oyuncak bulunuyor. Buraya birkaç kez gelmem gerektiği kesin. Buna rağmen beni çocukluğuma götüren bu güzel müzeyi keşfettiğim için önce havalara uçtum, sonrasında duygulandım. Çünkü oyuncak hikayelerimi hatırladım ve çocukluğuma gittim. Aynı zamanda burada bulunan oyuncakların da kendi hikayesini okuduğumda büyülendim. Müzedeki diğer büyükler de benim gibiydi. Herkes müzeyi dolu dolu gözlerle geziyordu. Çocuklar da çok mutlulardı. Söyledikleri her şey beni çok güldürüyordu. Bir tanesi buradaki oyuncakların annesine ait olduğunu söylüyordu 🙂
I mentioned that toys have their own story. In fact, the museum houses also a story. There used to be a weaving factory in the area where this museum is located. At that time, a nursery was built for the children of the workers of this factory. That nursery is now operating as a toy museum.
Oyuncakların kendi hikayesi olduğunu yazmıştım. Aslında müzenin de bambaşka bir hikayesi var. Bu müzenin içinde bulunduğu bölgede eskiden Dokuma fabrikası varmış. O dönemde fabrika işçilerinin çocukları için bir de kreş yapmışlar. İşte o kreş günümüzde oyuncak müzesi olarak faaliyet gösteriyor.
In the museum, there are various toys from all around the world, as well as local toys of Anatolia. So, you see, there are toys here to bring back childhood memories for everyone. We come across various fairy tale characters not only in the interior of the museum but also around it. Shrek, Snow White and Yogi bear appear at the entrance. The children were hugging these toys and that was very nice. (Did I also hug? No, I didn't. Maybe I should come back for this at a less hectic time. 😀 )
Müzede dünya genelinden çeşitli oyuncaklar yer aldığı gibi aynı zamanda Anadolu'nun yöresel oyuncakları da sergileniyor. Anlayacağınız burada herkesin çocukluk anılarını canlandıracak oyuncaklar bulunur. Sadece müzenin iç kısmı değil çevresinde de çeşitli masal kahramanlarına rastlıyoruz. Girişte Shrek, Pamuk prenses ve ayı Yogi karşımıza çıkıyor. Çocuklar bu heykellere sarılıyorlardı ve ortaya çok güzel manzaralar çıkıyordu. (Ben mi? Yok sarılmadım. Biraz daha sessiz zamanını denk getirirsem olabilir 😀 )
At the entrance of the museum there are Nasreddin Hodja, who cut off the branch he is sitting on, and the lead characters of the traditional Turkish shadow play - Hacıvat and Karagöz.
Müzenin kapısında ise bindiği dalı kesen Nasrettin hoca ve hepimizin çok iyi tanıdığı Hacıvat ve Karagöz var.

There are many toys in the cabinets on the walls, each with a different story. The Indian doll on the right was made in America in 1950. The ones on the left were also made in Japan in 1950. The Native American theme is undoubtedly remind me of Sudefteri.
Duvarlardaki dolaplarda hepsinin ayrı bir hikayesi olan çok sayıda oyuncak var. Sağdaki kızılderili bebek 1950 yılında Amerika'da yapılmış. Soldakiler ise yine 1950'de Japonya'da yapılmışlar. Kızılderili teması şüphesiz Sudefteri'ni anımsatıyor.

I mentioned that this area was used as a weaving factory in the past. These Apollo Magirus buses were used as personnel shuttles carrying the workers of the factory.
Bu arazinin eskiden Dokuma fabrikası olarak kullanıldığını yazmıştım. Bu Apollo Magirus marka otobüsler fabrikanın işçilerini taşıyan personel servisi olarak kullanılırmış.

There is also the fairy tale grandma's room in the museum. It is possible to come across various fairy tale heroes such as Snow White and Guliver.

There were more toys that I wanted to see. Unfortunately, my time here was up and I had to leave the museum. I will go to see the new toys next time.

The garden of the museum is also a beautiful green place. I really love this olive tree. A thousand year old tree.

How to Get to the Toy Museum?
"Anatolian Toy Museum" is located in the park called Dokumapark, not far from the city center of Antalya, Turkey. There are many public buses that come here from all over the city. I think it would be much easier to find the museum, if I describe it as right next to Özdilek shopping center.

"Anadolu oyuncak müzesi" Antalya şehir merkesine çok uzak olmayan Dokumapark adlı parkın içinde yer alıyor. Şehrin her yerinden buraya otobüsler geliyor. Özdilek alışveriş merkezinin hemen yanında diye tarif edersem sanırım çok daha kolay bulunur.

The Entrance Fee
The entrance fee is very cheap. I paid only 7 Turkish lira (approx. 0.82 USD). They give discounts to children. Credit cards are accepted. I've read that it's free during some holiday seasons, but I guess it gets very crowded.
The museum is currently open from 10 a.m to 6 p.m each day. It can be visited durind the summer (and winter) since the air conditioning works here.
Bilet ücreti
Biletler çok ucuz. Ben sadece 7 lira ödedim. Çocuklara indirim uyguluyorlar. Kredi kartı geçerlidir. Bazı tatil dönemlerinde ücretsiz olduğunu okumuştum ama sanırım o zaman çok kalabalık olur.
Müze şu anda 10:00-18:00 arasında açık. Üstü kapalı ve klimaları çalışan bir müze olduğu için sıcak aylarda da rahat rahat gezilir.
What to do After the Toy Museum?
The toy museum is located in a very fascinating park. This place is like the forest in the middle of the city. Those who want to have a picnic in the open area can bring their food and have a picnic here.(But remember that bbqs are not permitted.You can visit Lara Beach for bbq, which I mentioned in my previous post) There are also many other museums here; Minicity, Modern art gallery, Antalya museum, Botanical park, Science center ... I visited the open air museum and will definitely visit the other ones as soon as possible.
I recommend to booklovers to visit the Booksellers' Bazaar in the park. A large number of books, records, cassettes, posters etc. are sold here.
Right next to the park there is the Özdilek shopping mall, which I mentioned at the beginning of the post. You can have dinner, do your shopping and play bowling at this mall. You can also watch a movie, of course. I watched the movie "Black widow" after the museum. There is also an open-air movie theater at Dokumapark, but I couldn't go there because I didn't have enough time. I will definitely visit this cinema in the near future.
Oyuncak Müzesinden Sonra Ne Yapılır?
Oyuncak müzesi çok büyüleyici bir parkın içinde bulunuyor. Burası şehrin ortasındaki orman gibidir. Açık alanda piknik yapmak isteyenler yiyeceklerini getirip burada piknik yapabilirler. (Ama unutmayın mangal yasak. Mangal yapmak isteyenler önceki yazımda anlattığım Lara plajına gidebilirler) Meraklıları için burada çok sayıda başka müze de var; Minicity, Modern sanatlar galerisi, Bir zamanlar Antalya müzesi, Botanik park, Bilim merkezi ... Açık hava müzesini ziyaret ettim diğerlerine de en kısa sürede uğramayı düşünüyorum.
Kitap okumayı sevenlerin ayrıca parkın içindeki Sahaflar çarşısına uğramalarını öneririm. Burada çok sayıda kitap, plak, kaset, poster vs gibi ürünler satılıyor.
Parkın hemen yanında yazının başında bahsettiğim Özdilek alışveriş merkezi bulunuyor. Bu alışveriş merkezinde yemek yiyebilir, alışveriş yapabilir ve bowling oynayabilirsiniz. Ayrıca bir de sinema izleyebilirsiniz tabii. Ben müzeden sonra "Black widow" filmini izledim. Dokumaparkın içinde bir de açık hava sineması varmış, ama zamanım yetmediğinden oraya uğrayamadım. Yakın zamanda orayı da mutlaka ziyaret edeceğim.
