Come one come all my perspective record industry scumbags. I'm back again to regurgitate my meteoric rise to the top to you baby vultures so you can grow big and strong like papa xTAPExEATERx. When we last parted ways it was with me demanding that you let me know if this new 'Rising Star Role-Play' type content was helpful or entertaining to you. I had you backed into a corner and strong-armed you into squeeling for the next chapter and squeel you did!

You like me! You really like me! Or maybe you just wanna walk in my footsteps long enough to slide a knife in my back, hummm? In any case, I promised chapter two of my twisted tale if you asked for it and you did. I'm a corpse of my word so...

Chapter Two: I AM the GRIND

Some of this information is present in past articles I've wrote about Rising Star but, when I first got started I bought maybe $25 worth a random cards on an auction house based mostly on how they looked. I was not always the undead fiend you see before you, dear reader, at one point I was a humble 'Heabanging Singer' simply looking for enough Pizza and 'Bits to get by. At the end of a long night a couch to surf on also never hurt!

Once I was on the tour circuit and grinding missions I found that the hodgepodge of cards I had purchased was kinda a mess but, thankfully, there was absolutely no requirement for me to have really expensive cards in the first place. When I did go and look the best cards in the game over I saw that, while they did provide an impressive amount of stat boosts, nothing they did was game changing. The coolest and most powerful cards that did have activated abilities were all pretty much once a day type deals anyhow.

Another thing also became clear: The world of Rising Star runs on Pizza.

When I say Pizza here I'm not talking about the amazing Hive.Pizza community that exists on the Hive blockchain. While they are clearly friends of the game , and the recent inclusion of the Pizza Bike in Rising Star shows that, I'm talking about Pizza itself as a recourse in Rising Star. Primarily in the form of Cold Pizza Slices and Pizza Boxes.

Pizza refills you energy bar completely. While that seems handy in the early game when you are mostly hitting multiple cheaper missions as often as possible when you start unlocking '100% energy cost' missions it becomes a lifeline. I tried to cheap out and save Starbits by stacking like 5 pizza boxes and 2 coffee cups. The cold pizza slice is clearly a king here but, s I could get all of that for about the same price I tried it out. What I found shocked me to my very core.

It was pretty good all and all. Not too bad and not to good, pretty much perfect for leveling. While I was leveling up to level 50 so I could even try and become a Starbits Millionaire this hodgepodge of items really worked out well. The random missions I was doing meant that my stack of pizza boxes could often stay at-least partially filled and, if I knew I was going to be around the computer for a while, I'd hit multiple cheap missions in a row hunting for dropped pizza to load into my boxes and eat later. Coffee I honestly mostly use for the immediate 3% energy boost to 'make change' on mission pricing.

What? Yes, really! That's how it works in the Local Gig Circuit! If you don't like floor pizza this might not be the profession for you bucko!

If you are new to rising star and finding yourself in this part of the game, settle in. You're going to be doing a lot of the same missions over and over again and there aren't even that many cards you can buy to spice the experience up. A bottle a whiskey can keep the boredom at bay and, if you are pouring you'll always have a few more fans, but mostly, this is the grind part of your career.

Welcome to the shoppe window. This is the point in your Rising Star career that will make or break you. You're going to be looking around the game at all the unique little bits and bobs that make this one of the coolest goddamn projects in all of cryptocurrency. Unfortunately, you're also largely going to find that you don't yet have the Starbits to really play with. In my humble opinion this period of tantalization is extremely important.

This is the key moment, ya bums, so choose your lane!

Are you going to get bored and frustrated and wander away? OK, you may go.

Rising Star is a currently blooming ecosystem ripe for new players to plant themselves in the middle of. If you are the kind of player who can look at a system of tool-kit and figure out where you ca interact with that larger system for fun and profit, well, you're going to love this shit. Make your plan and strike!

So we've talked about the money hat can be made investing in other peoples records. This is where you'll start to see what a tip of a iceberg that is and why Rising Star, more than anything else, is a music industry simulation.

Let's take a moment to look at the market for those NFT songs for Rising Stars growing first generation of artists. An artist can get 25 made for less than 150k Starbits and sell them through the game to make profit. Players can also stake their Starbits in that record to make money when the record sells. In my mind this is sort of a reverse engineered 'record producer system' that works even better than a straight up simulation ever would.

Due to the game itself keeping the cost and barrier of entry to creating a song low there is no need for record producers how they function in the real music industry. Once the record is produced however you have an extremely small pool of 25 records, each it's own tradable NFT, that you'll often see traded on secondary markets. This to me is one of the coolest parts of the game. You can start to earn money by buying and trading these OR staking Starbits in the records themselves through the scree I showed above.

Kinda amazing, huh? All the while, there are going to be people saying Rising Star is boring, try not to laugh directly in their faces. Or do, whatever.

There are maybe 2-4 more steps in my story and my fingers are worn to the bone so, thats it for today. I feel more than comfortable with the amount of knowledge I've dropped on you here so make that tip jar jingle peons! I'll have the next one out soon but sooner if you tip big!

I hope you small fries are starting to see some of the big brain stuff Jux and the other genius working on this game are providing us with. Maybe it's time you pulled up your socks and started being slightly better players! That's why I'm challenging you In this weeks giveaway! I want you to write about Rising Star in the next 3 days, write anything at all! When you do link back to this article. That will enter you into a drawing for a FREE PIZZA BOX!
