President of the Venezuelan National Assembly Jorge Rodriguez announced the government delegation would suspend its participation in the dialogue process with the opposition in Mexico City due to the extradition of Alex Saab, a close aide of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, to the United States with money laundering charges, during a press conference in Caracas on Saturday.
Saab was arrested while he was on a diplomatic mission in Cape Verde in June 2020, and his extradition to the US was reportedly announced through Cape Verde's national radio on Saturday.
