The inkwell prompt: shipwrecked

Abule is a community at offshore of an Atlantic ocean. Fishing and canoe making is the major occupation of the people of Abule. The people are friendly and accommodating. Emma is a skilled canoe maker and also Fisherman who loves his work. He is loved for his skill and passion for his work. He is also a good singer but only in whistling. Whistling songs are his companion whenever he is at the heat of his canoe making and the passion at which he does his work, makes it beautiful.

It was a cloudy evening, Emma had gone to his usual evening fishing with the new canoe he had just made. It was a fruitful evening, his canoe was filled with his catch, and was about heading home that the weather changed suddenly. He could hear the wave of water from a far distance and he immediately knew he was in for the test of the strength of his new canoe. The weather change was accompanied by lightning and violent thunderstorm. Before he could put a pedal to the metal to his canoe, he noticed a ship from a distance was been tussled by the turbulent water wave. And the thunderstorm was also striking at the ship. He knew they will need help, but how then is he going to get to them, especially as the turbulent water was coming in his direction, he thought. He turned his canoe toward the direction of the ship that was been tussled left and right in the middle of the ocean. And started paddling his canoe opposite the direction of waves toward the ship, in the process, all his catch of fish fell back to the ocean. At a point, his canoe submerged, but he was able to bring it back to the surface of the water again.

Before he got to the ship, the ship has been wrecked by the thunderstorm and the family of four that were in the ship were clinging to the part of the wretched ship to help keep them afloat while whistling and calling for help. When he got to them, they were shivering heavily. They had been hanging on the part of the wrecked ship for almost two hours now, and they were already sounding faint as he couldn't hear the words they were trying to tell him until he boarded them into his canoe and sail them to his village.

Emma's family were already coming worried for him, for he never stayed that long for fishing before, coupled with the fact that the storm and water wave had been heavy that evening. the family was standing at the bank looking up for his canoe. And they felt relieved at the sight of a canoe coming toward their direction. Everyone was happy as he lands offshore with four strangers but with no fish, "Fishers of men" his mom said.
