The Inkwell Writing: Shipwreck

After Paul's career crumbled, he resolved to start a new life elsewhere, a place no one knew him. He was a lawyer who was in support of social injustice. Learning about his fall, people ridiculed him and haunted to cause him the same pain he had caused them. Before dawn, his family and himself packed every valuable they had and prepared to flee to Joppa by sea. They boarded the ship at 6:00 AM and hope to arrive at Joppa at 7:00 PM.

"I warned you of your lifestyle, now see what it had caused us," His wife said. She was tired of changing location each time she was starting to get accustomed to a place.
"It's too late to start putting blame, let's think of a way out," Paul said, avoiding his wife's eye that was now full of rage.
" You are the one who put us into this, it's your duty to find a way out," she said amidst sob. To avoid further conversation, she went to the cabin to have some rest.

At 4:00 PM, the atmosphere became darkened, a strong wind blew troubling the sea. Suddenly the cloud let down rain accompanied by thunderstorms that sent the ship waving along with the ripples. The captain struggled to maintain balance driving the steering that had now stiffened but the wind was so strong that he lost control of the wheel, everything he did only pushed the ship to a rock in the middle of the sea. Gradually the ship began to sink. The passengers threw away some of the load in the ship to make it lighter but it kept going down.
Mary, Paul's wife held him tightly, her body shivering from fear.
"I'm afraid to die," she said clinging unto him.
"I hope this is not my bad revisiting me? " he asked himself. He was already soaked from the water that has sneaked inside the ship.

"There, look, there's a shore not far from here," the captain said." Swim to save yourself". The ship at the time had been filled with water to the brim, luckily the wave had driven the broken ship a few meters to dry land. Everyone survived.
"Much bad luck for a day," Paul said looking at his wife whose teeth were rattling from the cold.
"I'm sorry I had put you in such a situation, I am hoping we will start a new life from now"
"Where are we going to?" Mary asked.
"I think we've found a place to settle, here".
Just before his wife would argue it, he immediately added "This land is fruitful, look at the trees around, it wouldn't be a bad idea if we begin a city here, anyone who ever suffers a shipwreck will have a place to rest".
His wife smiled, if truly they wanted to start a new life, here was just the perfect place.
