Do some companies really have a tea time?
I don't know for the company you work in. But where I'm working, yes, we do observe tea time.
My company not just being a multimillion naira organization, they also partner with various coffee production companies using their products as free gifts of purchase and customer insentives. Each time you purchase any of our products, you get a free tea. We are very popular here, the free tea gave our company a brand in the locality and i don't think the company would be stopping that any time sooner.
All you have to do is ask for the free tea company and you will get the location to my place of work. Free tea is not my company, it just what its known for, I know many of you would ask that.
In our company, there is this special designated time where we go on break. That's what we call tea time.
For workers, tea is the only free drink the company gives us. Except you option in for feeding deduction in your salary, you will have to pay for everything you eat.
One day, during the tea time period, I was going to answer the call of nature when I saw the manager making out with one of the workers. This particular type of story has been told a lot of times in the company, and it's always during tea time. Sometimes it happens before the tea time and this has lead to a lot of changes in the company. The manager was sacked and a strict rule that impose a very big punishment on anyone that violates the tea time was imposed. Things are back to normal now.
