Hello again! It's @ddrfr33k, and I have some updates on the state of Vimm since our relaunch. We're super happy to see everyone come back, and we love the new faces! There was an uptick in new accounts back in December, roughly 100 new faces showed up and chatted with people on Vimm.
Sadly, since that time, our activity has dropped a bit. We currently have 65 active users on the leaderboard, a far cry from the 100+ we used to have. We also lost all of our Premium Members when we went offline for 3 months. As you can see, we're, uh, running a little lean. I hate to do this, but...
We need your help to get us back to where we were before. The DHF proposal has ended, so we're no longer drawing from that fund. It got us on our feet, now it's on us to carry the torch. So what can you do?
The first thing, if you have the funds, subscribe to our Premium Membership. For as low as $6 a month, you can help us keep the lights on. Go up to $15 a month, and you get even more spiffy features! And you're helping support the site you love in the process. Remember, you can buy the Gems needed with Hive or via Paypal. We're not picky!
Another thing you can do is delegate Hive Power to Vimm. This will increase the value of our upvotes, which can help us entice more people to come stream on Vimm. The sad reality is that money talks, and we can only go so far on altruism.
Third, get your friends to stream on Vimm. Every person that streams on the platform also helps us at the same time they help themselves grow. If you know someone who wants to start streaming, now is the time to get in on it!
One final thing, consider increasing your beneficiary contribution. We set the default at 10%, but you can increase it up as high as 50% if you so desire. I practice what I preach, I have mine set at 25% and I have for some time. Yes, it means less rewards for you, but it also helps us continue to deliver the high quality service you have come to love.
I really hate constantly coming to you guys and asking for more from you. You have been super supportive for a very long time, and @chiren, @devmarvel, and I, are so appreciative of it. When we were down, it warmed the heart to see everyone looking forward to our return. We want to keep Vimm going until we croak, and we see the future ahead of us. We just need to stabilize a bit more before we can start doing the fun things. But thank you for reading this, and please consider helping us out in whatever way you can.
