Hail to the Hive!
After much waiting and waiting, stressing and excitiment the new engine for Badger the Narrowboat finally went in and is all hooked up. Now to test it ! It's hard to believe after so much waiting and hanging around it's actually in and purring like a big cat ( like a very big cat!)
The boatyard where we are having the installation done is family run and they had their narrowboat holiday booked for this week. They and all the folks who live on the marina / yard have been really welcoming and friendly and as it was impossible to book in the work on any specific date,as we didn't know when the engine would be here, it's amazing how they've squeezed in what they have already. So we are using this week to run the engine through its paces and see how she goes and if there are any points of failure, niggles or safety issues that need to be looked at before we set off on our travels.

I do miss cruising on the canals and can't wait to get back to the exploration of the canal network. Soon, soon we will be on our way but for now these runs are productive and therapeutic.
