Hello everyone! It's been a long time since I last uploaded a post. I've been a bit busy weekdays with work issues but as always, my weekends doing something new. So let me tell you about a new adventure that I went on.
¡Hola a todos! Ha pasado muchísimo tiempo desde la última vez que subí un post. He estado un poco ocupada entre semana con temas del trabajo pero como siempre, mis fines de semana haciendo algo nuevo. Así que déjeme contarles una nueva aventura que realicé.
On Sunday September 26 I did a demanding route with a group of friends and strangers (people we met during our trip) with the aim of relaxing and celebrating our guide's birthday on all excursions.
El domingo 26 de septiembre hice una ruta exigente junto a un grupo de amigos y extraños (personas que conocimos durante nuestro viaje) con el objetivo de deseatresarnos y celebrar el cumpleaños de nuestro guía en todas las excursiones.
Our route was: Indian stone, paradise well and black well!
Nuestra ruta fue: Piedra del indio, pozo paraíso y pozo negro!
We went up through the entrance called Cachimbo, on the way to Piedra del Indio from which it has a spectacular view of Caracas. Upon arrival we had to wait several minutes for the guide to speak with one of the rangers because, because it was a radical week, access to the mountain was prohibited. However, we were allowed through thanks to the good recommendation.
Subimos por la entrada llamada Cachimbo, camino hacia piedra del indio del cual tiene una vista espectacular de Caracas. Al llegar tuvimos que esperar varios minutos a qué el guía hablara con uno de los guardabosques debido a que por ser semana radical estaba prohibido el acceso a la montaña. No obstante, nos fue permitido el paso gracias a la buena recomendación que tiene nuestro guía.

This route is one of the smoothest that Ávila has, more than all its ascent is done in Zig zag, they are not steep and it is recommended for those who are starting out in hiking, yes, everyone climbing at their own pace so that the travel is calmer.
Esa ruta es una de las más suaves que tiene el Ávila, más que todo su subida se realiza en Zig zag, no son empinadas y es recomendable para quienes están empezando en el senderismo, eso sí, cada quien subiendo a su ritmo para que el viaje sea más tranquilo.
The climb lasted approximately 1 hour and a half, among the group there were people who were not used to climbing the mountain, therefore you had to be aware of those who were left behind. Other people took pictures of themselves as they went up, which is valid since the view was clear and the city was radiant in the sun.
La subida duró aproximadamente 1 hora y media, entre el grupo habían personas que no estaban acostumbrados a subir la montaña por lo tanto había que estar al tanto de quienes se quedaban atrás. Otras personas se tomaban fotografías mientras subían, algo válido debido a que la vista estaba despejada y la ciudad lucía radiante ante el sol.

On the way I came across a snake of approximately 60cm, it passed by in front of me. As well as these, there were many bees in the surroundings and bachacos.
En el camino me encontré con una culebra de aproximadamente 60cm, pasó de largo por delante de mí. Así como estos, habían muchas abejas en los alrededores y bachacos por igual.
Finally we arrive at our first stop Piedra del Indio. Seeing the huge stone from below is one of the most rewarding emotions you feel when you first climb this route. That peak you see on the right side ... Just look at it!
Finalmente llegamos a nuestra primera parada Piedra del indio. Ver la enorme piedra desde abajo es una de las emociones más gratificantes que se siente cuando subes por primera vez a esta ruta. Ese pico que ven en el lado derecho... Solo mírenla!

This is a route that I had only done once, on Sunday I had the opportunity to do it again and the truth is that I was impressed with how the first time. His sight is wonderful, people suffering from vertigo could not stand on the tip of the stone. It is very understandable.
Esta es una ruta que sólo había hecho una vez, el domingo tuve la oportunidad de volver a realizarla y la verdad es que me impresionó cómo la primera vez. Su vista es maravillosa, las personas que sufren de vértigo no podían pararse en la punta de la piedra. Es muy comprensible.
In this opportunity we eat the first cake of the guide, eating sweet to regain strength to continue on our way is essential.
En esta oportunidad picamos la primera torta del guía, comer dulce para agarrar fuerzas nuevamente para seguir nuestro camino es fundamental.
We go up a section to begin to descend towards two wells that are in Cachimbo.
Subimos un tramo para comenzar a descender hacia dos pozos que se encuentran en Cachimbo.
To get to the first well we took about 20 minutes, we went into a cloud forest and silence reigned in it, along the way we met bachacos for which we had to speed up because they stuck to our shoes.
Until we get to the first one. We come across this sculpture that someone made, look at this balance.
Para llegar al primer pozo duramos aproximadamente 20 minutos, nos metimos en un bosque nublado y en él el silencio reinaba, durante el camino nos encontramos con bachacos por lo cual tuvimos que apurar el paso debido a que se pegaban en los zapatos.
Hasta que llegamos al primero. Nos encontramos con esta escultura que alguien realizó, miren este equilibrio.
First time visiting this well and had no idea that you could camp there, behind the well there was a place where people usually camp. Look at this beautiful stone that serves as a roof for campers and, in some cases, for cooking:
Primera vez que visitaba este pozo y no tenía idea de que se podía acampar allí, detrás del pozo había un sitio donde la gente suele acampar. Miren esta hermosa piedra que sirve de techo para los campistas y, en algunos casos para cocinar:
Unfortunately for the hour we could not settle in the first called paradise well, therefore we went down to the second to enjoy the water. For many, this was the best.
Lastimosamente por la hora no pudimos instalarnos en el primero llamado pozo paraíso, por lo tanto bajamos al segundo para disfrutar del agua. Para muchos este les resultó el mejor.
Pozo negro
The water was super cold. Very cold, not everyone was approaching the small waterfall. For my part I jumped from above. This was something new for me, since I was always afraid of heights, however, hiking has allowed me to lose those childhood fears. I admit that I was hesitant to jump, I was afraid but when I did I felt an adrenaline rush that I would not change for anything. In conclusion, the waterfall looked small but the fall was brutal.
El agua estaba súper fría. Muy fría, no todos se acercaban a la pequeña cascada. Por mi parte me lancé desde arriba. Esto fue algo nuevo para mí, ya que siempre le tuve miedo a las alturas sin embargo, el senderismo me ha permitido a perder esos miedos de niñez. Admito que dudaba en lanzarme, sentía miedo pero al hacerlo sentí una adrenalina que no la cambiaría por nada. En conclusión, la cascada se veía pequeña pero fue brutal la caída.
Here we settle for half an hour, I had made a cake the day before, therefore we chopped another cake in that well.
Aquí nos instalamos por media hora, yo había realizado una torta el día anterior por lo tanto picamos otra torta en ese pozo.
Comimos full torta, jeje/ We ate full cake, hehe.
We spent half an hour in this well, now we had yet to finish our route. Instead of turning back, we continue straight to go down another entrance called the estribo de duarte. First time I crossed this route and the truth was I was impressed by how wide and clear it is.
Duramos media hora en este pozo, ahora faltaba por finalizar nuestra ruta. En vez de devolvernos seguimos derecho para bajar por otra entrada llamada estribo de duarte. Primera vez que cruzaba esta ruta y la verdad quedé impresionada de lo amplia y despejada que es.
During our descent we get back to the cloud forest, this tree that you see in the entire environment is probably the oldest tree I have seen in my life, it has an immense height just imagine that in the middle of the entire mountain there is a large hole ( we are in the mountain, take out your accounts).
Durante nuestra bajada nos conseguimos nuevamente con el bosque nublado, este árbol que ven en todo el medio es probablemente el árbol más viejo que haya visto en mi vida, tiene una inmensa altura solo imagínense que en medio de todo el monte hay un gran hueco (estamos en la montaña, saquen sus cuentas).

You know that you arrive at the stirrup of duarte when you see the tank (where the water is collected to drink, of course) and its characteristic tree. Now look at these two views of the tank.
Sabes que llegas a estribo de duarte cuando ves el tanque (dónde de recoge el agua para tomar, por supuesto) y su árbol característico. Ahora miren estas dos vistas del tanque.

Basically we go down that mountain that is visualized in the back. But the best view is the following:
Básicamente bajamos por esa montaña que se visualiza en la parte de atrás. Pero la mejor vista es la siguiente:

See how beautiful it is? I was amazed at the view that Duarte's stirrup offers us.
Ven lo hermoso que es? Quedé maravillada con la vista que nos ofrece el estribo de Duarte.
Bajando a la ciudad/ Our way to the city
After an hour and a half we arrived at the main avenue of the thousand appointment (a highway) where we waited for the rest of the group that were getting off. In the end we ate what was left of the meal.
Después de hora y media llegamos a la avenida principal de la cita mil (una autopista) donde esperábamos al resto del grupo que bajaban. Al final cenamos lo que quedaba de la comida.
Sí, éramos un grupo grande. Y sí, comimos sabroso/Yes, we were a large group. And yes, we ate tasty.
Finally
I was impressed with how beautiful Caracas looks from this place, many will think that hikers are crazy to love and appreciate the wonders that the mountain offers us, but I only say that they have to live the same experience. Climbing the mountain is not tedious, it is a way to connect, to meet new people, new beauties and to exercise. It helps you clear your mind and makes you very strong. The only thing missing is that more people dare to value and discover new directions.

Quedé impresionada con lo hermoso que se ve Caracas desde este sitio, muchos pensaran que los senderistas somos locos por amar y apreciar las maravillas que nos ofrece la montaña pero yo solo digo que ellos tienen que vivir la misma experiencia. El subir a la montaña no es tedioso, es una manera de conectarte, de conocer nuevas personas, nuevas bellezas y de ejercitarse. Te ayuda despejar la mente y te fortalece muchísimo. Sólo falta que más personas se animen a valorar y a conocer nuevos rumbos.
