My real weekend actually only started yesterday and will end tomorrow. My wife, my son and I decided to give ourselves a few days of relaxation in an accommodation facility with a semi-Olympic swimming pool, surrounded by nature at a height of over 400 meters from the sea. It is a hotel built in the early 90s and still continues to be among the most renowned here in Fasano, a stone's throw from the large zoo that attracts thousands of visitors, allowing you to look after the many specimens that live there, saved for example from the circus or from kidnappings to private families as they were illegally imported
The hotel is called Serra Silvana and while we arrived on the radio they were broadcasting Hotel California degli Eagles, I thought it was a ghost hotel and instead it is a large residence, divided into a large central structure, the reception and the restaurant, and behind the accommodation facilities , multi-family villas as well as some trulli. The place is very quiet, away from the noise and crowds of the city, the most common sound is that of the wind among the huge fir trees, a very pleasant sensation.
Green is the predominant color. Large meadows, flowering bushes, fir trees that rise towards the sky, pots full of plants. Even the curtains in the rooms are green. Nothing is left to chance here in Serra Silvana. Our stay also includes dinner, the restaurant is located on the first floor, above the reception and it is a really nice place, refined and elegant, but always reminds a bit of the 90's style with those curtains that are thoughtful but neat drapes.
The courses of the restaurant have never made me regret the home dj cooking and they are certainly fine recipes, both sea and land, multiple flavors that enhance the taste and more. Then the kindness of the staff who often stopped at the table to play a bit with my son who in the meantime was making a lot of noise during dinner. I always got up from the table with a full stomach, a sign that the food was good and plentiful, just the way I like it 😁
The swimming pool is the center of attraction and also one of the main reasons why people choose this hotel in the summer. Its size does not make you regret the sea, however, about 30 minutes away and some really tight curves. Why bother when you have everything here? There is really nothing that we miss so I am super relaxed and I fully enjoy this relaxation.
Life is already complicated in itself, sometimes it is better to choose simple things, they are the ones that do best. I would also have liked to sleep in the trulli, local centenary houses that have been restored in elegant guest rooms. Their particular dome, made entirely of stones, a technique similar to a dry stone wall, is typical of the place. A few kilometers from here is the city of Alberobello, the home of the trulli par excellence, sooner or later I will return and take you to that magical picturesque world.
