Shocking US crypto regulation, congress wants to ban privacy coins, stablecoins and create legal uncertainties for all other coins except Bitcoin and Ether 🤐

Designate Bitcoin, Ether, and their hard-forks as commodities and regulate their transactions accordingly;

Create legal uncertainty for all other crypto projects and ICOs by allowing them to be labeled as securities;

Ban the use of (unauthorized) stablecoins;

Introduce penalties for the use of mixers and privacy coins;

Rebrand smart-contracts that take longer than 24 hours to deliver as futures contracts and regulate them accordingly;

Re-define legal tender and change the way money is created by the Federal Reserve; and authorize the issuing of a digital USD of which all transactions are recorded;

Introduce foreign regulations into US law for all virtual asset service providers in the US (and with US clients). This would not be done to then never use it.

Was sagt ihr dazu? Denkt ihr, dass das auch Hive und HBD treffen könnte? Hoffe, dass im Endeffekt nicht so heiß gegessen wie gekocht wird und dass die Regierung die Innovation im IT- und Krypto-Space nicht abwürgt.

The U.S. Congress wants to regulate cryptos even more, preferring to de facto ban privacy coins and stablecoins and create legal uncertainty for all other coins except Bitcoin and Ethereum.

This is the summary recently posted on Reddit:

Designate Bitcoin, Ether, and their hard-forks as commodities and regulate their transactions accordingly;

Create legal uncertainty for all other crypto projects and ICOs by allowing them to be labeled as securities;

Ban the use of (unauthorized) stablecoins;

Introduce penalties for the use of mixers and privacy coins;

Do you think this could affect Hive and HBD as well? I hope that in the end it will not be as bad as it looks and that the government will not stifle innovation in IT and crypto space with excessive regulation.
