I visited a very interesting archeological site in this part of Serbia. Its name is "Viminacium" located near Kostolac near two very famous rivers, near the river Danube and near the river "Velika Morava". This historic site spreads over several hectares.

But I was not the only one who came to see something so grandiose, there were many more tourists, new and new tourists come every few minutes. And from all over the world, and only some of the languages spoken there are Serbian, English, German, Chinese, Korean, French. Which is very nice of a guide who takes tourists through a history of tens of centuries.

When my group of tourists gathered we went for a guide. The first place we went to was the "Aristocratic Cemetery" of the ancient Roman Empire.

The rich inhabitants of the then Viminacium were buried here. Archaeologists have found about 20 well-calculated skeletons and several more graves. It didn't matter if you were Orthodox, Catholic or Jewish in this cemetery, it was important that you were rich and that your family had the money to pay to be buried in this very luxurious cemetery at the time.

Then we went to the reconstruction of the gladiatorial arena. The reconstruction was done in part in order to preserve the original remains of the arena's foundations. Within this arena were also kept wild animals that fought against gladiators.

The next destination was not so much related to the ancient Roman Empire but equally interesting. These are Mammoth skeletons that were found and excavated in the rocks. These rocks were formed from a drained swamp that mammoths walked in search of food or drinking water.

We went to the reconstruction of a villa of a rich family at that time. Such huge houses were used not only by the rich but also by officers of the then famous Roman army. This house was built and designed to be actually a museum where everything interesting found in the next research area of this area will be exhibited. Because research happens every day and there is something interesting. This museum has almost been built and that is why construction works on it are still in progress.

While the Roman Empire existed, each city had its own "Termne" (public baths), so our Viminacium had its own public bathroom. Almost all the inhabitants of the city at that time could enter this bathroom, because the ticket price was quite cheap.
