Love and hate story - Historia de amor y odio

In a presentation about cryptocurrencies, quite boring, by the way, and even worse because it was developed remotely using one of those video conferencing software, the speaker mentioned a phrase that left me thinking: “the world financial system loves blockchain, but hates cryptocurrencies ”. Given what is happening in recent times, there is a great deal of truth in that phrase.

The main drawback that states see in cryptocurrencies is the direct threat to control of money; the issuance, control and legislation of the currency in each country is probably the greatest nucleus of power of the governments and no one is willing to part with it, or even share it.

That's why new roadblocks, bans, and regulations appear every day, as well as high-sounding statements from financial gurus and many of the world's most influential entrepreneurs and powerful financiers. With the supposed intention of “taking care” of the investor, their voice does not tremble when they declare that they are ideal instruments for money laundering and scams as well as unstable and unpredictable due to the manipulation of a few as if all these crimes and handling they would not have existed before the advent of cryptocurrencies.

But there is a truth that prevails: more and more companies accept to charge for their goods and services with some of the most important cryptocurrencies and investment companies are beginning to allow their portfolios to contain some portion of these.

So governments are watching with great concern the development that crypto assets are achieving and they are only interested in using the part they like: the blockchain because it has proven to be reliable, fast, and secure to manage transactions at low cost, as we know, there are already several central banks that are working on their own coin projects based on this technology.

With rare exceptions, all governments will try to regulate them to the maximum and in that way keep everything as it was before the appearance of Satoshi's invention, it is likely that they will succeed and in that case they will have killed the main attraction.
