One of the biggest biases we can have refers to the cost of things, thinking that something of high cost can be of higher quality than something of lower cost, but we can also see something in the middle of something very cheap and very expensive and this same bias can make us think that what is in the middle is of medium quality and that it can be better than something cheap and a little worse than something expensive.
An example of this can be the different brands of some technology, because we can see copies of a good brand that are cheaper than those originals and that logically are of lower quality, but this is not what I want to refer to but to the different brands that do sell original things but at different prices.
Apple has the reputation of giving good quality products and that can last many years with us, which they use to sell their products at a very high price and many people buy it, but I also have the experience of having bought a Sony brand headphones for 9$ in 2013 and they are still working very well, as well as an Acer brand laptop in 2013 and that just passed from owner (now belongs to my mom) needing only an adjustment in the software to continue working well.
It is not necessary to look for copies of companies that sell expensive products to be able to get cheap things, but we can simply look for a brand that also sells quality things at a lower price, and yes I can assure you that they exist in many parts of the world.
Besides this, we have to know what we need in a product and what we are willing to pay to get it, since maybe a Ferrari does the same as a Toyota, with the difference that one can get a little faster to a place, because anyway both have to follow the same traffic laws and use the same fuel, which follows the same logic of the different brands offering good products with different prices.
It is the duty of retailers to sell us what looks like what we need, and it is our duty as responsible consumers to see what really does what we are looking for, and a higher price is no guarantee of doing so every time.

Uno de los sesgos más grandes que podemos tener se refieren al costo de las cosas, pensando que algo de alto costo puede ser de mayor calidad de algo de menor costo, pero también podemos ver algo en el medio de algo muy barato y muy costoso y este mismo sesgo puede hacer que pensemos que lo del medio es de mediana calidad y que puede ser mejor que algo barato y un poco peor que algo caro.
Un ejemplo de esto pueden ser las distintas marcas de algo de tecnología, porque podemos ver copias de una buena marca que son más baratas que aquellas originales y que lógicamente son de menor calidad, pero no es esto a lo que quiero referirme sino a las distintas marcas que si venden cosas originales pero a distintos precios.
Apple tiene la fama de dar productos de buena calidad y que pueden durar muchos años con nosotros, lo cual usan para vender sus productos a un precio muy alto y muchas personas lo compran, pero yo también tengo la experiencia de haber comprado unos audifonos de marca Sony por 9$ en el 2013 y aún siguen funcionando muy bien, como también una computadora portátil de marca Acer en el 2013 y que acaba de pasar de dueño (ahora es de mi mama) necesitando solo un ajuste en el software para seguir funcionando bien.
No es necesario buscar copias de empresas que venden productos caros para poder conseguir cosas baratas, sino que podemos simplemente buscar una marca que también venda cosas de calidad a un menor precio, y si les puedo asegurar que existen en muchas partes del mundo.
Además de esto, tenemos que saber que necesitamos en un producto y que estamos dispuestos a pagar por obtenerlo, ya que tal vez una Ferrari haga lo mismo que un Toyota, con la diferencia que uno puede llegar un poco más rápido a un lugar, porque de todas maneras ambos tienen que seguir las mismas leyes de tránsito y usar el mismo combustible, lo cual sigue la misma lógica de las diferentes marcas que ofrecen buenos productos con precios distintos.
Es el deber de los comerciantes vendernos aquello que se parece a lo que necesitamos, y es nuestro deber como consumidores responsables ver aquello que realmente cumpla con lo que buscamos, y un precio más alto no es garantía de hacerlo en todas las ocasiones.
