¡Hola a todos! Hace poco me topé de nuevo con una película que había visto hace años y que, me había gustado mucho, así que me senté a verla sin dudarlo. Los temas de brujas, magos y magia me atraen, pero más cuando no son retratados en un aspecto oscuro y siniestro, sino más bien colorido y alegre. Ese es el caso de Fuchsia, la mini bruja, una película corta pero con un lindo mensaje de trasfondo.
Hi everyone! I recently came across a movie that I had seen years ago and that I really liked, so I sat down to watch it without hesitation. The themes of witches, wizards and magic attract me, but more when they are not portrayed in a dark and sinister aspect, but rather colorful and cheerful. That is the case of Fuchsia, the mini witch, a short film but with a nice background message.
La historia comienza cuando un mago con una pata de palo llamado Kwark, se encuentra un huevo mientras camina por el bosque. Ya en su hogar, el huevo se abre, saliendo de él una pequeña bruja que comienza a llamarlo papá. Esto, es sorprendente para el mago, pues vive sólo desde hace años y nunca tuvo familia. No tarda en encariñarse con la traviesa brujita y le da el nombre de Fuchsia, por unas flores que tenía en un florero. La bruja se alegra ante su nuevo nombre y no pierde tiempo a la hora de hacer travesuras, como usar el cepillo de dientes del mago para volar.
The story begins when a wizard with a peg leg named Kwark, finds an egg while walking through the woods. At home, the egg hatches, leaving a little witch who begins to call him dad. This is surprising for the magician, since he has only lived for years and never had a family. It doesn't take long for him to become fond of the mischievous little witch and gives her the name Fuchsia, after some flowers she had in a vase. The witch rejoices at her new name and wastes no time in mischief, like using the wizard's toothbrush to fly.
Cuando Fuchsia y Kwark tienen un encuentro con unos cazadores humanos, la mini bruja se entera de que los humanos son seres peligrosos. Intenta pues, aprender un hechizo para poder combatir a los malvados humanos, pero el mago la detiene, ya que primero debe ir a la escuela de brujas. Esa información sorprende mucho a Fuchsia, quiere asistir cuanto antes a la escuela de brujas. Pero su padre le dice que tiene que crecer primero para poder ir. Eso impacienta aún más a la pequeña bruja, está cansada de ser pequeña, quiere crecer cuanto antes para poder hacer las cosas que el mago no la deja y asistir a la escuela de brujas. Kwark piensa que es mejor ayudarla a crecer, dado que así podrá cuidarla mucho mejor sin que se le pierda. Le da de tomar un poco de agua servida en la cascara de una bellota y canta una divertida canción sobre el crecimiento de las brujas, en donde con cada hipo, la bruja va creciendo. Y así, entre hipo e hipo Fuchsia crece hasta alcanzar el tamaño ideal para ir a la escuela de brujas.
When Fuchsia and Kwark have an encounter with some human hunters, the mini witch learns that humans are dangerous beings. So she tries to learn a spell to be able to fight the evil humans, but the wizard stops her, since she must first go to the witch school. That information surprises Fuchsia a lot, she wants to attend witch school as soon as possible. But his father tells him that he has to grow up first to be able to go. That makes the little witch even more impatient, she is tired of being little, she wants to grow up as soon as possible to be able to do the things that the wizard does not let her and attend the witch school. Kwark thinks that it is better to help her grow, since that way he can take care of her much better without losing her. He gives her a drink of water poured into the shell of an acorn and sings a funny song about the growth of witches, where with each hiccup, the witch grows. And so, between hiccups and hiccups Fuchsia grows to the ideal size to go to witch school.
Ésta es una de mis partes favoritas. Las brujas tienes vestimentas muy variadas y coloridas entre si, ningún traje es parecido entre ellas, lo que le da bastante vistosidad. Fuchsia conoce a sus compañeras de clase, con las que se lleva bastante bien, exceptuando a dos brujas, que suelen ser bastante busca pleitos, pero no siendo más que simples jugarretas de niñas.
This is one of my favorite parts. Witches have very varied and colorful clothes among themselves, no costume is similar between them, which gives it a lot of showiness. Fuchsia knows her classmates, with whom she gets along quite well, with the exception of two witches, who tend to be quite a fighter but are no more than simple little girl tricks.
Un día, mientras estaba en el bosque, se encuentra con un niño humano llamado Tommie, con quién entabla rápidamente amistad. En total secreto, va a visitarlo hasta su casa e inclusive lo invita a volar en su escoba mágica. Hasta que, un día, Fuchsia se disfraza y va junto a Tommie al pueblo en donde habitan los humanos. Es entonces cuando son descubiertos por la maestra de Fucsia, una bruja que recibe la información de una de las amigas de Fucsia de que se iba a ver con el niño. Ya en casa, el mago Kwark recibe a su hija y la noticia de lo ha estado haciendo. Aquello lo preocupa y le dice a Fuchsia que no puede volver a verse con el niño humano. La bruja no entiende el porqué debe dejar de ver a su amigo, pues según lo que ha visto, los humanos no pueden ser tan malos. Es entonces cuando Kwark decide contarle a su hija algo que nunca le ha dicho. Hace muchos años, en la época de la inquisición, un joven Kwark quería conocer a los humanos y contra todas las advertencias de sus mayores, fue a conocerlos... fue así cómo, sin mucho detalle, perdió su pierna y acabó con una pata de palo. Aquella triste historia lo cambia todo, Fuchsia decide hacerle caso a su padre y no volver a ver a Tommie.
One day, while in the woods, he meets a human boy named Tommie, with whom he quickly befriends. In total secrecy, she goes to visit him at his house and even invites him to fly on her magic broomstick. Until, one day, Fuchsia disguises herself and goes with Tommie to the town where humans live. It is then that they are discovered by Fucsia's teacher, a witch who receives the information from one of Fucsia's friends that she was going to see the boy. At home, the magician Kwark receives his daughter and the news that he has been doing it. That worries him and he tells Fuchsia that he cannot see the human child again. The witch does not understand why she should stop seeing her friend, because according to what she has seen, humans cannot be that bad. It is then that Kwark decides to tell his daughter something that he has never told her. Many years ago, at the time of the inquisition, a young Kwark wanted to meet humans and against all the warnings of his elders, he went to meet them ... that's how, without much detail, he lost his leg and ended up with a leg stick. That sad story changes everything, Fuchsia decides to listen to her father and never see Tommie again.
Tommie por su lado, se entristece al dar por hecho que luego de ser descubiertos, no va a poder seguir viéndose con su amiga. Hasta que se entera que su tío, un poderoso empresario, ha conseguido el permiso para talar el bosque de las brujas con el fin de construir una autopista. Es así, como decide ir en busca de Fuchsia y contarle todo lo sucedido. Al llegar se encuentra con que el sitio está lleno, están por celebrar el año de nuevo de las brujas por lo que muchas brujas se han reunido para festejar tal evento. Me gustó mucho el baile de celebración de las brujas, me pareció muy animado y los trajes me fascinaron.
Tommie, on the other hand, is saddened to assume that after being discovered, he will not be able to continue seeing his friend. Until he learns that his uncle, a powerful businessman, has obtained permission to cut down the witch forest in order to build a highway. This is how he decides to go in search of Fuchsia and tell her everything that happened. Upon arrival he finds that the site is full, they are about to celebrate the New Year of the Witches so many witches have gathered to celebrate such an event. I really liked the celebration dance of the witches, I found it very lively and the costumes fascinated me.
A pesar de que Fuchsia lo había disfrazado para que pasara desapercibido en el baile, Tommie es descubierto por Kwark y las brujas entran en pánico al darse cuenta de que hay un humano entre ellos. Cuando las cosas se calman, Tommie y Fuchsia le comunican a las brujas lo que tiene pensado hacer el tío de Tommie y que deben hacer algo para salvar el bosque y su hogar. Las brujas y el mago deciden dejar sus miedos atrás y unirse entre todas para evitar que el bosque sea talado.
Despite Fuchsia having disguised him so that he would go unnoticed at the dance, Tommie is discovered by Kwark and the witches panic upon realizing that there is a human among them. When things settle down, Tommie and Fuchsia tell the witches what Tommie's uncle plans to do and that they must do something to save the forest and their home. The witches and the wizard decide to leave their fears behind and unite together to prevent the forest from being cut down.
La verdad es una película que me pareció muy linda, estéticamente y emocionalmente. El valor de la amistad, lo importante de afrontar el miedo y el cuidado del ambiente... No trata de temas tan complejos, pero en tan sólo una hora y meda, relata una historia disfrutable, divertida y llena de magia, que sin duda hará que nuestro niño interno florezca de nuevo je je si tienes hijos, primos o sobrinos pequeños, es una película que puedes ver para pasar un rato agradable. En cambio, si sólo tienes un gato, como es mi caso puedes verla en soledad y cantar las canciones sin temor, total, nadie se va a reír de ti je je
The truth is a film that I found very beautiful, aesthetically and emotionally. The value of friendship, the importance of facing fear and caring for the environment ... It does not deal with such complex issues, but in just an hour and a half, it tells an enjoyable, fun and magical story, which undoubtedly it will make our inner child bloom again hehe if you have children, cousins or young nephews, it is a movie that you can watch to have a good time. On the other hand, if you only have a cat, as is my case, you can see it alone and sing the songs without fear, total, nobody is going to laugh at you heh heh
