Originalidad y exitosas películas basadas en juego de videos, son cosas que poco se ve en el mundo del cine, pero podrán existir alguna que otra excepción cuando se une diferentes situaciones como por ejemplo tener una buena producción, tener un actor famoso de protagonista, un director famoso, escenas impresionante, buen CGI y claro está, una historia divertida, creo que en los últimos años, han existido dos historias que presentan estas características, una es el film animado "Wreck-It Ralph" y el otro es el film dirigido por Steven Spielberg, "Ready Player One", ambas producciones basadas en juegos de vídeo, buena animación, buenos personajes, buena dirección y divertidas historias, es por eso que está es la fórmula a seguir para que por fin producciones basadas en videojuegos puedan tener éxito en el cine.

Originality and successful movies based on video game, are things that are rarely seen in the world of movies, but there may be some exceptions when you join different situations such as having a good production, having a famous actor in the lead role, a famous director, impressive scenes, good CGI and of course, a funny story, I think in recent years, there have been two stories that have these characteristics, one is the animated film "Wreck-It Ralph" and the other is the film directed by Steven Spielberg, "Ready Player One", both productions based on video games, good animation, good characters, good direction and fun stories, that's why this is the formula to follow so that finally productions based on video games can be successful in the movies.
En "Free Guy" se toma ideas exitosas que tuvieron las dos películas antes citadas, junto a otras películas más de que hablaré más adelante; en esta historia seguimos a GUY, un "NPC" (Non-Player Character) del videojuego online "Free City", su rol en el juego es simple, el cual consiste en despertar, desayunar, ir por café, saludar a sus amigos, ir a su trabajo y después esperar a ver qué sucede dependiendo que jugador pueda usarlo para su diversión, un loop eterno que parece que cada vez está más cerca de romper porque Guy ya no quiere experimentar lo mismo, es por eso que un día todo cambia cuando ve a una chica y eso le da las fuerzas para pasar de ser un personaje más a ahora ser un héroe.
In "Free Guy" it takes successful ideas that had the two movies mentioned above, along with other movies that I will talk about later; in this story we follow GUY, an "NPC" (Non-Player Character) of the online videogame "Free City", his role in the game is simple, which consists of waking up, having breakfast, getting coffee, greeting his friends, going to work and then waiting to see what happens depending on which player can use him for his amusement, an eternal loop that seems to be getting closer and closer to break because Guy no longer wants to experience the same, that's why one day everything changes when he sees a girl and that gives him the strength to go from being a character to now be a hero.
Esta película la cual fue un gran éxito en el verano americano, venía acompañada de muy buenas críticas por lo divertida que es; personalmente esperaba algo mejor por cómo había leído alguna que otra reseña, con esto no digo que tenía grandes expectativas, pero si esperaba ver algo diferente o algo muy bien hecho, pero no vi ni lo uno, ni lo otro; para ser sincero Free Guy es un film regular, sus escenas de acción no son para nada buenas, son muy simples, esperaba algo más por tratarse de una historia que se lleva a cabo en un videojuego, no me gustaron las coreografías en las peleas, son muy estáticas, otra vez debo acotar de que no se aprovechó el poder mostrar más, ser algo completamente exagerado aprovechando de que son personajes virtuales, sé que este film a pesar del lenguaje o algunos de los chistes dichos, es uno dirigido al público infantil, joven y adulto, pero creo que Shawn Levy como director pudo hacer cosas mejores.
La historia es para nada original, tiene mucho de Tron, tiene cosas de The Matrix, LEGO Movie, Ready Player One y algo (muy poco) de Inception; del primer film citado y del dirigido por Spielberg, son los que claramente sirvieron de influencia para escribir esta historia, tiene un gran parecido, ya que en la primera es un diseñador de programas los cuales le fueron robadas sus creaciones y el que los robó se hizo millonario y ahora el que las creó debe hacer lo imposible para recobrar lo que fue suyo, del otro está el menaje de que existe un mundo más que el de los juegos de vídeo, hay un mundo real el que puedes también lograr lo que quieras y también obtener grandes victorias con sorprendentes recompensas, seguramente el guion escrito para este film fue el más fácil de hacer por lo antes descrito y hay algo que también fue un punto atractivo y positivo de Ready Player One, lo cual es el fan service, en Free Guy se usa aunque no se forma exagerada, pero es imposible no darse cuenta de eso.
This movie which was a great success in the American summer, was accompanied by very good reviews for how funny it is; personally I expected something better for how I had read some other reviews, I'm not saying that I had high expectations, but I expected to see something different or something very well done, but I saw neither one nor the other; to be honest Free Guy is a regular film, its action scenes are not good at all, they are very simple, I expected something more because it is a story that takes place in a video game, I did not like the choreography in the fights, they are very static, again I must point out that it did not take advantage of the power to show more, I know that this film despite the language or some of the jokes said, is one aimed at children, young and adult audiences, but I think that Shawn Levy as a director could have done better things.
The story is not original at all, it has a lot of Tron, it has stuff from The Matrix, LEGO Movie, Ready Player One and something (very little) from Inception; of the first film mentioned and the one directed by Spielberg, are those that clearly served as an influence to write this story, it has a great resemblance, since in the first is a program designer whose creations were stolen and the one who stole them became a millionaire and now the one who created them must do the impossible to recover what was his, in the other is the message that there is a world more than the one of video games, There is a real world where you can also achieve what you want and also get great victories with amazing rewards, surely the script written for this film was the easiest to do for the above described and there is something that was also an attractive and positive point of Ready Player One, which is the fan service, in Free Guy is used although not exaggerated, but it is impossible not to notice that.
La actuación de Ryan Reynolds es un gran punto positivo del film, sin ninguna duda hace funcionar está película y tal vez sin el cómo estrella principal seguramente no fuera servido, aunque para ser sincero algunas veces es algo difícil ver la actuación de Reynolds porque siempre hace del mismo personaje cómico, hasta cuándo no está actuando se comporta como en las películas, pero para este film es perfecto y creo que su actuación hace que sea más aceptable la historia por la gran receptividad que tiene con el público; mención especial para Channing Tatum que para mí tiene la escena más cómica del film.
The performance of Ryan Reynolds is a great positive point of the film, without any doubt he makes this movie work and maybe without him as the main star it surely wouldn't be served, although to be honest sometimes is a little difficult to see the performance of Reynolds because he always plays the same comic character, even when he is not acting he behaves like in the movies, but for this film he is perfect and I think his performance makes the story more acceptable because of the great receptivity he has with the audience; special mention for Channing Tatum who for me has the funniest scene of the film.
Me gustaría haber disfrutado aún más de esta película, creo que debió ser mucho mejor en varios aspectos, no volverla un film completamente de acción, pero si hacer mejores las escenas que tiene, pero a pesar de esa crítica es claro porque está historia ha conectado con muchas personas, tiene momentos divertidos, habla sobre temas de la amistad, el fan service es bueno, eso lo reconozco, el CGI no es malo, puede ser que haya un fallo en un personaje muy peculiar, pero creo que es algo mínimo, me fuera gustado que tuviera más comedia eso sí, pero la que tiene no está mal, me gustó que no se abuse del loop que vive Guy, eso sí sería caer en lo repetitivo y para mí eso fue valioso, como ven hay cosas que me gustaron y otras no, creo que es una historia para verla con toda la familia (ese también es un punto positivo) por eso creo que le haya gustado a tantas personas, pero creo que pudo ser mejor, es por eso que si tienen la oportunidad vean esta película que seguramente les gustará a muchos.
I would have liked to have enjoyed this movie even more, I think it should have been much better in several aspects, not to make it a completely action film, but to make better the scenes it has, but despite this criticism it is clear because this story has connected with many people, it has funny moments, it talks about friendship, the fan service is good, I recognize that, the CGI is not bad, there may be a flaw in a very peculiar character, but I think it is something minimal, I would have liked it to have more comedy, but the one it has is not bad, I liked that it does not abuse the loop that Guy lives, that would be falling into the repetitive and for me that was valuable, as you can see there are things that I liked and others not, I think it is a story to see it with the whole family (that is also a positive point) that's why I think so many people liked it, but I think it could be better, that's why if you have the opportunity see this movie that surely many will like it.
