Hello friends, movie lovers, I want to share with you a very pleasant experience, watching a movie that got me hooked with its plot; it is the film "RainMaker" or "In Legitimate Defense", which has great performances such as: Matt Damon, Jon Voight, Danny DeVito and Claire Danes; as well as stellar appearances such as Danny Glover, Mickey Rourke, among others. I confess that I saw it on consecutive days on FX (formerly The Film Zone). Hola amigos amantes del mundo cinematográfico, quiero compartir con ustedes una experiencia muy agradable, al ver una película que logró engancharme con su trama; se trata del filme “RainMaker” o “En Legítima Defensa”, la que cuenta con grandes actuaciones como: Matt Damon, Jon Voight, Danny DeVito y Claire Danes; así como apariciones estelares como la de Danny Glover, Mickey Rourke, entro otros. Les confieso que la vi en días consecutivos en el canal FX (antiguo The Film Zone). Con semejante elenco es cuestión de centrarnos en los hechos que llevan al joven próximo graduarse en leyes Rudy Baylor, quien en su condición de novato, llega con las ganas de comerse el mundo, pero con muy sólidos valores morales y esto en el gremio del ejercicio legal, a veces representa un contra, frente a los tentáculos de la corrupción del sistema.

So, for me it was very interesting to observe all the resources that the young lawyer uses, along with the help of his partner Deck, who despite not having a license to practice, supports him with his experience in various legal situations, even in quotes from laws and specific articles.
En esta producción cinematográfica, el director nos sumerge en una especie de lucha entre “David y Goliat”, dado que cuando Rudy (movido por sus valores de empatía y solidaridad) decide apoyar con sus servicios legales, a una humilde familia, cuyo hijo no recibe el apoyo financiero por parte de la compañía de seguros con la que tenían contrato firmado; y se enfrenta a un verdadero monstruo, porque la infame aseguradora declara no tener dinero para pagar los gastos médicos, pero contradictoriamente, sí lo tiene para pagar un numeroso servicio de rancios abogados, que demostrando poco sentido de humanidad, defiende a capa y espada, a la irresponsable empresa.
Así que, para mí fue muy interesante observar todos los recursos que utiliza el joven letrado, junto a la ayuda de su socio Deck, quien a pesar de no tener la licencia para ejercer, le apoya con su experiencia en diversas situaciones legales, incluso, en citas de leyes y artículos específicos.

It is exciting to see how Rudy gets involved with some cases, but more for his good heart than for the insensitivity of seeking lucrative litigation. This is how, he attends to several jobs in parallel, something that takes up so much of his time that he can hardly study; that is, he is now learning by doing rather than by theory and that has its advantages. Obviously there has to be a girl, but in this case it is a very beautiful one, who strangely enough is not treated like a princess but beaten by her partner; a new case for the good guy, who soon realizes the contradictions present in the real world of the courts, it is not the fairy tale where everyone is good, but a struggle for survival. At this point I can't separate myself from the plot, as a viewer I feel like I'm inside the film hahaha.
Es emocionante ver como Rudy se involucra con algunos casos, pero más por su buen corazón que por la insensibilidad de buscar litigios lucrativos. Es así como, atiende varios trabajos en paralelo, algo que le ocupa tanto tiempo que casi no puede estudiar; es decir, ahora está aprendiendo con la práctica que con la teoría y eso tiene sus ventajas. Obviamente tiene que haber una chica, pero en este caso es una muy hermosa, que extrañamente no es tratada como una princesa sino a los golpes por parte de su pareja; nuevo caso para el bonachón, que muy pronto cae en cuenta de las contradicciones presentes en el verdadero mundo de los tribunales, no es el cuento de hadas donde todos son buenos, sino una lucha de supervivencia. A estas alturas ya no me puedo separar de la trama, como espectador siento que estoy dentro del filme jajaja.

Watching the details with which the scenes of this magnificent film unfold, I can't help but recognize how educational "I don't know why I hadn't seen it before" has been. Also appealing is the participation of its acting cast, who give it that extra, that sort of special ingredient that keeps me immersed in its waters. In the opinion of this server, the plot is excellent and represents a great internal struggle between doing what others do, or doing what is really right.

No obstante, los hechos principales se centran más en el pez gordo, el caso de la aseguradora “Grandes Prestaciones” y su negación a cumplir con sus obligaciones. Al ver los detalles con los que se desarrollan las escenas de esta magnífica película, no puedo dejar de reconocer lo educativa que ha sido “No sé por qué no la había visto antes”. También es atractiva la participación de su reparto actoral, que le dan ese plus, esa especie de ingrediente especial que me mantiene inmerso en sus aguas. En opinión de este servidor, el argumento es excelente y representa una gran lucha interna entre hacer lo que los demás hacen, o hacer lo realmente correcto.

I have fond memories of this film. It is amazing how a good production does not need so many special effects (not to say that they are not a strength), to reach our conscience. This contrasts with the last review I did, but they are different styles, which we also need to enrich our experience.

Lamentablemente, las corrientes de agua turbia demuestran que hacer lo correcto no es lo más lucrativo (monetariamente hablando), pero sí nos dejará una paz interior que no tiene precio y vale más que todo el dinero del mundo. Me ha quedado un grato recuerdo de este filme. Es increíble la manera como una buena producción no necesita de tantos efectos especiales (no quiero decir que no sean una fortaleza), para llegar a nuestra conciencia. Esto contrasta con la última reseña que hice, pero son estilos diferentes, que también necesitamos para enriquecer nuestra experiencia.
