Hola amigos amantes del cine, por lo general cuando veo una película, hago un viaje hacia su lado interior y el punto de origen de la trama, o al menos eso intento; el filme del que les comento en mi publicación de hoy, comenzó de una manera extraña, es decir, de la manera en la que muchas otras cintas terminan; con la ejecución del culpable de horrendos crímenes, en la cual se hizo justicia a través de un honesto agente de policía, John Hobbes es un oficial que sigue un modelo de trabajo incorruptible, siempre apegado a la ley para enaltecer su labor; aun cuando su trabajo concluya en el castigo para, el o los culpables de los delitos que se les atribuyen. This is the opening scene of the 1998 film "Fallen" or Possessed, directed by the American "pro-thriller" Gregory Hoblit and whose cast is remarkable, led by the excellent actor Denzel Washington, in the company of John Goodman, Donald Sutherland, James Gandolfini and Embeth Davidtz; that is to say, the film promises and that is why I kept an eye on the facts so as not to miss any detail. You know? I appreciated the excellent first-person narrative, especially in moments of tension, to make it easier for the viewer to keep in line with the development; these words of Hobbes may seem commonplace, but at the same time very accurate: "There are moments that mark our lives, moments when one realises that nothing will ever be the same again and time is divided into two parts, before this...And after this".
Although this story is visualised as a struggle of good versus evil, I got the impression that Hobbes is at a disadvantage because of the entity's ability to pass from body to body through physical contact.
Este es el abrebocas de la película “Fallen” o Poseídos del año 1998, dirigida por el estadounidense “pro-thriller” Gregory Hoblit y cuyo elenco es notable, liderado por el excelente actor Denzel Washington, en la compañía de John Goodman, Donald Sutherland, James Gandolfini y Embeth Davidtz; es decir, el filme promete y por eso me mantuve al pendiente de los hechos para no perder detalle. ¿Saben? agradecí la excelente narrativa en primera persona, sobre todo en momentos de tensión, para facilitar al espectador mantenerse en línea con el desarrollo; estas palabras de Hobbes pueden parecer comunes, pero a su vez muy acertadas: “Hay momentos que marcan nuestras vidas, momentos en que uno se da cuenta de que ya nada será igual y el tiempo está dividido en dos partes, antes de esto…Y después de esto”.
Aunque esta historia se visualiza como una lucha del bien contra el mal, me dio la impresión de que Hobbes está en desventaja, por la habilidad del ente, para pasar de cuerpo a otro, a través del contacto físico entre estos.
The tension builds as the righteous officer begins to look psychotic, chasing someone only he can see, along with his new friend Greta. Then the film, which began as a police plot, becomes something with a supernatural bent, with the suspenseful charge of fighting something unknown; it was actually unnerving to see how weak and exposed we humans can be to a strange embodiment of negative energy. The climactic episode turned into a battle of wits with a totally unexpected outcome; while not a film that blew my brains out, for the time of its release, it surely generated some big surprises. In the end, one person's life seems like a grain of sand when compared to the souls who will reach salvation. The cast has done a great job, showing how to make good impressions with little material and although it left me with some questions (as many films tend to do), it was a different experience, but in the end who was the one narrating the facts? Hahaha.

La tensión se hace cada vez mayor cuando, el justo oficial comienza a parecer un psicótico, al perseguir a alguien que solo él puede ver, además de su nueva amiga Greta. Entonces la cinta que comenzó como una trama policial, se convierte en algo con tendencia sobrenatural, con la carga de suspenso que genera luchar contra algo desconocido; fue en realidad desconcertante ver lo débiles y expuestos que podemos ser los seres humanos, ante una extraña personificación de energía negativa. El episodio cumbre se tornó en una batalla de inteligencia con un desenlace totalmente inesperado; si bien no es un filme que puso a volar mi cerebro, para la época de su lanzamiento, seguramente generó grandes sorpresas. En fin, la vida de una persona parece solo un grano de arena, cuando se le compara con las almas que alcanzarán la salvación. El elenco ha hecho un gran trabajo, mostrando cómo sacar buenas impresiones con poco material y aunque me dejó algunas interrogantes (como muchas películas suelen hacer), ha sido una experiencia diferente, pero al final ¿Quién era el que narraba los hechos? Jajaja.
