We live in a globalized world where technology invades our privacy every day for our “security” and well-being ”. An interconnected world where billions of users are in a vast network and where it is increasingly easy to get information about a certain profile, an identity and in general our personal life, since we ourselves give our privacy.
Anon criticizes this phenomenon, where governments access our information easily but this movie goes one step further, a step that will probably be possible in the near future. In Anon, government identities are able to access not only our user profiles on social networks and on the internet but also every aspect of our life since they are able to literally see through our eyes and all that information is uploaded to the network, with the excuse of increasing our protection by accessing information of people who have been murdered.
Vivimos en un mundo globalizado en donde la tecnología invade cada día nuestra privacidad en pro de nuestra “seguridad” y bienestar ”. Un mundo interconectado en donde miles de millones de usuarios se encuentran en una vasta red y en donde cada vez es más fácil conseguir información acerca de un perfil determinado, una identidad y en general nuestra vida personal, ya que nosotros mismos entregamos nuestra privacidad.
Anon hace una crítica hacia este fenómeno, en donde los gobiernos acceden a nuestra información fácilmente pero esta película da un paso más, un paso que probablemente sea posible en un futuro cercano. En Anon, las identidades gubernamentales son capaces de acceder no solo a nuestros perfiles de usuarios en redes sociales y en internet sino también cada aspecto de nuestra vida ya que son capaces literalmente de ver a través de nuestros ojos y toda esa información es subida en la red, con la excusa de aumentar nuestra protección accediendo a información de personas que han sido asesinadas.
With this concept in mind, it would be easy to identify a murderer, but imagine someone who is capable of erasing all these records and not satisfied with it, altering the vision of the victim minutes before his death, making the person who is going to be murdered only able to Seeing through the eyes of your murderer, in a nutshell you will see what the eyes of your murderer are about to do.
Con este concepto en mente sería fácil identificar a un asesino pero imagínense a alguien que sea capaz de borrar todos estos registros y no conforme con ello alterar la visión de la víctima minutos antes de su muerte haciendo que la persona que va a ser asesinada solo pueda ver a través de los ojos de su victimario, en pocas palabras veras lo que los ojos de tu asesino están a punto de hacer.
Sal Frieland is a policeman who tries to catch this hacker with social engineering, that is, he tries to locate him by asking for his services and thus trying to access the anonymous profile of this murderer. Things gradually become more complicated when Sal discovers who is the person who is hacking the system, turning out to be an attractive girl, without a name, without a profile, completely anonymous.
Sal Frieland es un policía que intenta atrapar a este hacker con ingeniería social, es decir intenta localizarlo pidiendo sus servicios y tratando de esa manera de acceder al perfil anónimo de este asesino. Las cosas poco a poco se van tornando más complicadas cuando Sal descubre quien es la persona que esta hackeando el sistema, resultando ser una chica atractiva, sin nombre, sin perfil, completamente anónima.
The plot of the film is high, the concept is brilliant, but some of the performances seem to fall short of this production. Leaving this aside we can appreciate a good idea that seems to come out of a chapter of Black Mirror that then decreases its climax a bit with clumsy ideas that ruin the brilliant logic with which the film begins.
I would not consider this movie one of the many in the Netflix catalog due to the brilliant idea that underlies the plot and the perspective that people have before dying is an excellent idea but what is a bit criticizable is that they did not carry this premise at the height that it should have been and this does not happen with this movie just but with too many in the Netflix catalog.
El argumento de la película es elevado, el concepto brillante pero algunas de las actuaciones parecen no estar a la altura de esta producción. Dejando esto a un lado podemos apreciar una buena idea que parece salida de un capítulo de Black Mirror que luego va decreciendo un poco su clímax con ideas torpes que arruinan un poco la lógica brillante con que empieza la película.
No consideraría esta película una más del montón del catálogo de Netflix debido a la brillante idea que subyace en la trama y la perspectiva que tienen las personas antes de morir es una excelente idea pero lo que sí es un poco criticable es que no llevaron esta premisa a la altura que debió de ser y esto no sucede con esta película nada más sino con ya demasiadas en el catálogo de Netflix.
In Anon we can find a possible and very near future. Similar things are happening in giants like China where privacy can be almost non-existent and anonymity is a subversive achievement against the system. While it is true that I consider myself an openly pro-technology person, it is also true that I criticize the misuse that is being given mainly due to governments with their airs of absolute power.
Cinema and literature are a reflection of what has been lived in our times and especially science fiction tries to delve into a possible future, speculating many times accurately about what may happen. Without going too far, many countries live in similar dystopias such as 1984 or Brave New World, where communism and extreme capitalism go about their business using stratagems to control millions of people.
En Anon podemos encontrar un futuro posible y bastante cercano. Cosas similares están ocurriendo en gigantes como China donde la privacidad puede ser casi inexistente y el anonimato es un logro subversivo en contra del sistema. Si bien es cierto que me considero una persona abiertamente en pro de la tecnología también es cierto que critico el mal uso que se le está dando principalmente debido a los gobiernos con sus aires de poder absoluto.
El cine y la literatura son un reflejo de lo vivido en nuestros tiempos y en especial la ciencia ficción trata de ahondar en un futuro posible, especulando muchas veces de manera certera acerca de lo que puede suceder. Sin ir muy lejos muchos países viven en distopias similares como la de 1984 o Un mundo Feliz, en donde el comunismo y el extremo capitalismo hacen de las suyas usando estratagemas para controlar a millones de personas.
The message of this type of movies and series like Black Mirror they want to try to give us is not to boycott all technological aspects, turning us into technophobes, but to protect what is ours, our life, our privacy, avoiding giving too much on social networks and share every simple aspect of our life. Many think they are sharing with their loved ones but the reality is that they are sharing information to an entire Universe.
The idea is not to get paranoid but to be more aware of the use we give to technological tools. A wiser and more controlled way would not do us an absolute evil but falling into an absolute virtualism yes it is, it depends on something it will always be wrong and millions of people every day are more dependent on their mobiles to the point of falling into stages of critical anxiety not being able to access them, especially the youngest.
I think it is time to be more free and take off the chains that each of us have put on. We can share and everyone has the right to do what they want with their lives but the alerts that these types of films give us are of genuine importance, it is not only fiction, it is a very good speculation about a possible world that we will live soon if the trends continue like this.
El mensaje de este tipo de películas y series como Black Mirror quieren intentar darnos es no hacer un boicot en contra de todo aspecto tecnológico convirtiéndonos en tecnófobos sino proteger lo que es nuestro, nuestra vida, nuestra privacidad, evitando dar demasiado en las redes sociales y compartir cada aspecto simple de nuestra vida. Muchos piensan estar compartiendo con sus seres queridos pero la realidad es que están compartiendo información a un Universo entero.
La idea no es ponernos paranoicos sino ser más conscientes del uso que le damos a las herramientas tecnológicas. Una manera más sabia y controlada no nos haría un mal absoluto pero caer en un virtualismo absoluto sí que lo es, depende de algo siempre estará mal y millones de personas cada día son más dependientes de sus móviles al punto de caer en etapas de ansiedad criticas al no poder acceder a ellos, en especiales los más jóvenes.
Pienso que es momento de ser más libres y quitarnos las cadenas que cada uno de nosotros nos hemos puesto. Podemos compartir y cada quien tiene el derecho de hacer lo que quiera con su vida pero las alertas que nos dan este tipo de películas son de importancia genuina, no solo es ficción, es una muy buena especulación acerca de un mundo posible que vivamos pronto si las tendencias continúan así.
