Welcome dear internet travelers, thank you very much for making a temporary stop in my post, as I am a person who likes to innovate today I will open another section of the reviews (Yes, another one jajajaja) And this new section will be a versus between films that are a different version of the same work and today we will face the 2 versions that exist of The Suicide Squad. Before starting I will explain a little how I will do this new theme, I will follow the structure that I usually have in my reviews but constantly comparing both films to see which one was better. Without further ado, grab your weapons we're about to start a suicide mission.
Bienvenidos queridos viajeros de internet, muchas gracias por hacer una parada temporal en mi post, como soy una persona que le gusta innovar hoy abriré otra sección de las reseñas (Si, otra más jajajaja) Y esta nueva sección será un versus entre películas que sean una versión diferente de la misma obra y hoy enfrentaremos a las 2 versiones que existen de The Suicide Squad. Antes de empezar explicare un poco como haré esta nueva temática, seguiré la estructura que suelo tener en mis reseñas pero comparando constantemente ambas películas para ver cuál fue mejor. Sin más que añadir agarren sus armas que estamos por empezar una misión suicida.
Both films are based on the comic of the same name that was published for the first time in 1959 and was created by Robert Kanigher & Ross Andru, the first film adaptation was released in 2016 with a duration of 2 hours and 3 minutes directed by David Ayer and produced by DC Entertainment, for its part, the second adaptation was released this year and has a duration of 2 hours and 12 minutes, directed by James Gunn and produced by DC Films. Both films have a lot of action, adventures and in the case of the second adaptation, blood in industrial quantities, the plot in both is exactly the same since it consists of a group of villains who were imprisoned and who face some threat to receive some kind of benefit in prison or reduction in their sentences, the small problem is that these missions are highly risky so the possibility of dying is extremely high but for those who do not care it is an alternative to at least get out of their cells .
Ambas películas están basadas en el comic del mismo nombre que fue publicado por primera vez en 1959 y fue creado por Robert Kanigher & Ross Andru, la primera adaptación al cine fue estrenada en 2016 con una duración de 2 horas y 3 minutos dirigida por David Ayer y producida por DC Entertainment, por su parte la segunda adaptación fue estrenada este año y tiene una duración de 2 horas y 12 minutos, dirigida por James Gunn y producida por DC Films. Ambas películas tienen gran cantidad de acción, aventuras y en caso de la segunda adaptación sangre en cantidades industriales, la trama en ambas es exactamente la misma puesto que consta de un grupo de villanos que fueron encarcelados y que se enfrentan a alguna amenaza para recibir alguna clase de beneficio en la prisión o reducción en sus condenas, el pequeño problema es que estas misiones son altamente riesgosas por lo que la posibilidad de morir es sumamente alta pero para los que no les importa es una alternativa para por lo menos salir de sus celdas.

In both adaptations the characters are quite inconsequential, being that in their respective film they only play one role, in some cases the roles are similar or directly the same character is in both films, so I first named these: The leaders of the Deadshot team (2016 ) and Bloodsport (2021) both were reluctant to join in at first and have a daughter, Harley Quinn appears in both movies and in both she is a character who is pretty crazy and funny, Rick Flag is a powerless army colonel who has The only function of fulfilling Amanda Waller's orders also appears in both films, Amanda Waller is the government official who gives orders to the team being the one who decides the missions to which they will go, in both films she is extremely implacable with the fact that that the mission is completed, another that appears in both films, finally in the characters that fulfill the same function we have Killer Croc (2016) and King Shark (2021) these are what S strong and stupid of the team, in their respective films they are usually used for a joke about their appearance, lack of common sense, among others.
En ambas adaptaciones los personajes son bastante intrascendentes siendo que en su respectiva cinta solo cumplen un rol, en algunos casos los roles son similares o directamente el mismo personaje está en ambas cintas por lo que primeramente nombre a estos: Los líderes del equipo Deadshot (2016) y Bloodsport (2021) ambos estaban renuentes a unirse al principio y tienen una hija, Harley Quinn aparece en ambas películas y en las 2 es un personaje que está bastante loco y es gracioso, Rick Flag es un coronel del ejército sin poderes que tiene la única función de cumplir las órdenes de Amanda Waller también aparece en ambas cintas, Amanda Waller es la funcionaria del gobierno que le da órdenes al equipo siendo la que decide las misiones a las cuales irán, en ambas cintas es sumamente implacable con el hecho de que se complete la misión, otra que aparece en ambas películas, por último en los personajes que cumplen la misma función tenemos a Killer Croc (2016) y King Shark (2021) estos son los fuertes y estúpidos del equipo, en sus respectivas películas suelen ser usados para un chiste sobre su aspecto, falta de sentido común, entre otros.

Last but not least the remaining characters of the 2021 adaptation: Peacemaker, a peace freak who makes funny jokes (Also very stupid) and fights in a very similar way as Bloodsport, Ratcatcher 2 a girl who has the most stupid and crazy power from the film which is to control the rats and finally Polka-Dot Man who has a space virus that disintegrates everything it touches to top it off, the virus can kill him too (It is the most unfortunate of all).
Por último pero no menos importante los personajes restantes de la adaptación de 2021: Peacemakerun loco por la paz que hace chistes graciosos (También muy estúpidos) y lucha de forma muy similar que Bloodsport, Ratcatcher 2 una chica que tiene el poder más estúpido y loco de la película el cual es controlar a las ratas y por último Polka-Dot Man quien posee un virus del espacio que desintegra todo lo que toca para colmo el virus puede matarlo a él también (Es el más lamentable de todos).
The music in both tapes is what is expected, according to the scenes in question, it motivates the viewer and others, this is the only section in which both adaptations are totally even.
La música en ambas cintas es lo que se espera, acorde con las escenas en cuestión, motiva al espectador y demás, este es el único apartado en el cual ambas adaptaciones están totalmente parejas.
The construction of the world is very different in each adaptation, the 2016 version focuses too much on Harley and the Joker investigating how they met and others, the problem is that they are not as interesting as the film makes them see and in more than one occasion makes one wonder if these scenes were intended only as filler for the film, being that the reason for the events feels forced by the little attention and explanation given to them that make any twist of the screw inconsequential. The 2021 version works this section a little better, does not make the mistake of giving excessive prominence to any character and better explores the reason for the events and the characters themselves question the veracity of these. Also the fact that everything takes place in another country gives it a more exciting touch, since that land has its own problems that are solved throughout the film.
La construcción de mundo es muy diferente en cada adaptación, la versión de 2016 se enfoca demasiado en Harley y el Joker indagando en cómo se conocieron y demás, el problema es que no son tan interesantes como la cinta los hace ver y en más de una ocasión hace que uno se pregunte si dichas escenas fueron pensadas solo como relleno para la película, siendo que el motivo de los eventos se siente forzado por la poca atención y explicación que se le da ha estos hacen que cualquier giro de tuerca sea intrascendente. La versión de 2021 trabaja un poco mejor este apartado, no comete el error de darle excesivo protagonismo a ningún personaje y explora de mejor manera el motivo de los eventos y los mismos personajes cuestionan la veracidad de estos. También el hecho de que todo se desarrolle en otro país le da un toque más emocionante, puesto que dicha tierra tiene sus propios problemas que se van solucionando a lo largo de la cinta.
The plot is basically the same since it consists of convicted villains who must carry out a mission in which they can die, the big difference lies in the execution, the 2016 version expects you to take it seriously but it is simply impossible since from the start is too absurd, the fact that her main villain is a witch who is upset that she is no longer considered a god doesn't help much either, the weird gangster Joker subplot doing everything to rescue Harley is the cherry on the cake to be even more annoying. The adaptation of 2021 in this section does it much better, although it is also very absurd and stupid, it does not expect you to take it seriously, it simply drops stupid deaths, a villain who is defeated in an even more stupid way, and very funny and grotesque situations to equal parts. The fact that it does not aspire to more makes a big difference between it and the 2016 version.
La trama es básicamente la misma puesto que consta de villanos convictos que deben llevar a cabo una misión en la que pueden morir, la gran diferencia radica en la ejecución, la versión de 2016 espera que te la tomes en serio pero simplemente es imposible puesto que desde el vamos es demasiado absurda, el hecho de que su villano principal sea una bruja que está molesta porque ya no la consideran un dios tampoco ayuda mucho, la sub trama del Joker gánster extraño haciendo todo para rescatar a Harley es la cereza sobre el pastel para ser aún más molesto. La adaptación del 2021 en este apartado lo hace mucho mejor, si bien también es muy absurda y estúpida no espera que te la tomes en serio simplemente suelta muertes estúpidas, un villano que es derrotado de forma aún más estúpida y situaciones muy graciosas y grotescas a partes iguales. El hecho de que no aspire a más hace que se note una gran diferencia entre ella y la versión de 2016.
I mentioned before that the characters in both films were inconsequential but this is not entirely true, the truth is that the characters in the 2016 version are much flatter and unknown, even having a sudden change in their attitude just because (I stare at you Diablo) He gives a lot of prominence to some and others are completely forgotten, it cannot even be said that those he gives focus to are well achieved. Again the version of 2021 kicks the butt of the one of 2016, although it does not do a character development or anything like that at least it gives some focus to each character so that some features of these are detailed, it correctly distributes the protagonism so it achieves much more charismatic and pleasant characters. I will also add that I like that this version kills many team members, not because of the curiosity of seeing the blood but because in itself it manages to reflect how dangerous it is to be in the team by reflecting many casualties.
Mencione con anterioridad que los personajes de ambas cintas eran intrascendentes pero esto no es del todo cierto, la verdad es que los personajes de la versión de 2016 son mucho más planos y desconocidos llegando incluso a tener un cambio repentino de su actitud solo porque si (Te miro fijamente a ti Diablo) Le da mucho protagonismo a algunos y otros quedan en el completo olvido, ni siquiera se puede decir que a los que les da foco estén bien logrados. Nuevamente la versión del 2021 patea el trasero de la del 2016, si bien no hace un desarrollo de personajes ni nada por el estilo por lo menos le da algo de foco a cada personaje para que se detallen algunos rasgos de estos, distribuye correctamente el protagonismo por lo que logra personajes mucho más carismáticos y agradables. También añadiré que me gusta que esta versión asesine a muchos miembros del equipo, no por morbo de ver la sangre sino porque en si logra reflejar lo peligroso que es estar en el equipo al reflejar muchas bajas.
Suicide Squad has had 2 adaptations so far, the first is a disaster and the second something decent and pleasant, the reason why the first one had so many stumbles is because of the fact that it wants you to take it seriously without having a basis for that sustains this aspiration, all its characters are on the threshold of the unknown and those who cross this border are not well achieved either and their plot has no better luck than the characters, for that reason it deserves 2 stars out of 7. For its part, the adaptation of the 2021 does much better since from the beginning it only has one mission to be absurd and funny without aspiring to anything else, it maintains its idiosyncrasy from the beginning to the end and its plot twists are better achieved and in general it does everything much better for what deserves 4 stars out of 7.
Suicide Squad ha tenido hasta el momento 2 adaptaciones, la primera es un desastre y la segunda algo decente y agradable, la razón para que la primera tuviese tantos tropiezos es por el hecho de que quiere que te la tomes en serio sin tener una base para que sustente dicha aspiración, todos sus personajes quedan en el umbral de lo desconocido y los que pasan dicha frontera tampoco son bien logrados y su trama no tiene mejor suerte que los personajes, por ello merece 2 estrellas de 7. Por su parte la adaptación del 2021 lo hace mucho mejor puesto que desde el vamos solo tiene una misión ser absurda y graciosa sin aspirar a nada más, mantiene su idiosincrasia desde el inicio hasta el final y sus giros argumentales son mejor logrados y en general hace todo mucho mejor por lo que merece 4 estrellas de 7.
