Hey Hive friends, it's great to be back here waiting for this crazy week we've had after the Hard Fork to be over. Today I wanted to talk to you about a movie that hasn't even come out yet and is already generating a lot of expectations that I hope will live up to my demands.
It's about 2 of the most beloved characters for me, two canines that marked my childhood with the content that I liked to see. One was lighter than the other, while one investigated criminal cases with people in disguise, the other actually dealt with paranormal themes that today watching the episodes in retrospect make me quite scary for a child of any age.
Courage the Cowardly Dog was special for me, because it is one of those cartoons that you will never forget and it also represents a way of making content that is rarely seen on television today. On the other hand, there is Scooby Doo, the eternal investigating dog that together with his friends Shaggy, Fred, Velma and Daphne will once again make up the most beloved gang on television, both are classics and will return in a crossover that I never imagined could happen. The union of the scariest dogs in the history of animation would surely spell disaster and that's just what I thought, but I expect a lot of fun along the way.

Hey amigos de Hive, es genial volver a estar por acá esperando que se acabe ya esta semana de locos que hemos tenido después del Hard Fork. Hoy quería hablarles acerca de una película que aún no ha salido y ya está generando muchas expectativas que espero que estén a la altura de mis exigencias.
Se trata de 2 de los personajes más queridos para mí, dos caninos que marcaron mi infancia con el contenido que a mí me gustaba ver. Uno era más ligero que el otro, mientras en uno se investigaban casos criminales con gente que se disfrazaba, el otro en verdad trataba temas paranormales que hoy viendo los episodios en retrospectiva se me hacen bastante aterradores para un niño de cualquier edad.
Coraje, el Perro Cobarde era especial para mí, porque es de esos dibujos animados que no podrás olvidar jamás y además representa una manera de hacer contenido que hoy poco se ve en televisión. Por otro lado esta Scooby Doo el eterno perro investigador que junto a sus amigos Shaggy, Fred, Velma y Daphne conformaran otra vez la pandilla más querida de la televisión ambos son clásicos y volverán en un crossover que nunca imagine podría ocurrir. La unión de los perros más aterradores de la historia de la animación seguramente supondría un desastre y eso fue justo lo que pensé, pero espero que haya mucha diversión en el camino.
The movie is definitely going to trigger massive nostalgia in those like us who grew up watching these shows Scooby-Doo and Courage, but more importantly it will also bring these wonderful characters to a new generation of viewers who may not know or have not seen any episodes of these series.
Straight Outta Nowhere: Scooby Doo Meets Courage the Cowardly Dog is the name of the film that will be released on September 14, 2021, directly on digital platforms. As the current pandemic continues to affect the film industry, it is possible that the film will do especially well through streaming companies if we fans of these series join the younger generations in enjoying it.
Warner Brothers, which co-produced Straight Outta Nowhere, is the company chosen for distribution while the film was directed and produced by Cecilia Aranovich. On the other hand, those who were avid viewers of both series will be happy to know that at least in English the original dubbing actors Thea White and Marty Grabstein reprise their roles as Muriel Bagge and Courage. For his part, Jeff Bergman will voice Eustace Bagge. While in Scooby, actor Frank Welker returns to lend his voice to Scooby and Fred Jones. Matthew Lillard, who has played Shaggy on TV and film since 2009, returns to lend his voice for the character; while Kate Micucci and Grey Griffin will do the same for Velma and Daphne respectively.
Definitivamente la película va a desencadenar una nostalgia masiva en aquellos que como nosotros crecieron viendo estos programas Scooby-Doo y Coraje, pero lo más importante es que también traerá estos maravillosos personajes a una nueva generación de espectadores que quizás no conocen o no han visto ningún capítulo de estas series.
Straight Outta Nowhere: Scooby Doo Conoce a Coraje, El Perro Cobarde es el nombre del filme que se estrenará el 14 de septiembre de 2021, directamente en las plataformas digitales. Dado que la pandemia actual sigue afectando a la industria cinematográfica, es posible que la película funcione especialmente bien a través de las compañías de streaming si los fans de estas series nos unimos a las generaciones más jóvenes para disfrutarla.
Warner Brothers, que ha coproducido Straight Outta Nowhere, es la compañía elegida para su distribución mientras que la película fue dirigida y producida por Cecilia Aranovich. Por otra parte aquellos que fueron ávidos espectadores de ambas series se alegrarán al saber que al menos en ingles los actores del doblaje original Thea White y Marty Grabstein repiten sus papeles como Muriel Bagge y a Coraje. Por su parte, Jeff Bergman le pondrá la voz a Justo Bagge. Mientras que en Scooby, el actor Frank Welker vuelve a prestar su voz para Scooby y a Fred Jones. Matthew Lillard, quien ha interpretado a Shaggy en televisión y el cine desde 2009, vuelve a dar su voz para el personaje; mientras que Kate Micucci y Grey Griffin harán lo mismo con Velma y Daphne respectivamente.

And as the title suggests, Scooby Doo finds himself in the middle of Nowhere, which is exactly where Courage The Cowardly Dog and his owners Muriel and Eustace Bagge used to live. The story seems to go like this both dogs end up being chased by huge demonic-looking insects, and the gang will have to organize a rescue mission. In the trailer you can notice the same particularities that made Scooby Doo famous like the chases and the humor so I don't think they will go too much into the territory of Courage which was a much more somber series.
Despite their differences Scooby Doo is perhaps the only show comparable to Courage but it's not that similar "There was nothing like it in the past," explained Courage creator John R. Dilworth for an interview last year for the show's 25th anniversary "maybe the closest predecessor to Courage The Cowardly Dog is Scooby-Doo, but I don't think that show ever achieved the kind of storytelling and intensity that I achieved in Courage."
And this is precisely what worries me most about how to get 2 such different things to merge in harmony in this regard Cecilia Aranovich noted "Merging the two worlds cohesively was one of the most difficult aspects of the production, but I think we found the perfect balance by incorporating design elements and the color palette of the Courage world, as well as infusing Scooby and the gang with the more exaggerated shots and reactions that are so characteristic of Courage". Maybe that reassures me a bit but it's a big risk to take 2 concepts so far apart and attach them to each other's world.
"No hay ningún sitio a donde huir y ningún sitio en el cual esconderse", se puede escuchar en el tráiler. Y como sugiere el título, Scooby Doo se encuentra en medio de Ningún Lugar, que es exactamente donde vivía Coraje El Perro Cobarde y sus propietarios Muriel y Justo Bagge. La historia parece ser así ambos perros terminan siendo perseguidos por enormes insectos de aspecto demoníaco, y la pandilla deberá organizar una misión de rescate. En el tráiler se puede notar las mismas particularidades que hicieron famoso a Scooby Doo como las persecuciones y el humor por lo que no creo que se metan mucho en el terreno de Coraje que era una serie mucho más sombría.
A pesar de sus diferencias Scooby Doo es quizás el único programa comparable con Coraje pero no es tan similar "No había nada parecido en el pasado", explicó el creador de Coraje, John R. Dilworth para una entrevista el año pasado por el 25 aniversario de la serie "quizás el predecesor más cercano con Coraje, El Perro Cobarde sea Scooby-Doo, pero no creo que esa serie haya logrado nunca el tipo de historias e intensidad que logré en Coraje".
Y esto es precisamente lo que más me preocupa cómo lograr que 2 cosas tan diferentes se fusionen en armonía al respecto Cecilia Aranovich señaló "Fusionar los dos mundos de forma cohesionada fue uno de los aspectos más difíciles de la producción, pero creo que hemos encontrado el equilibrio perfecto al incorporar elementos de diseño y la paleta de colores del mundo de Coraje, así como al infundir a Scooby y a la pandilla las tomas y reacciones más exageradas que son tan características de Coraje". Quizás eso me tranquilice un poco pero es un gran riesgo tomar 2 conceptos tan distantes entre sí y anexarlos al mundo de ambos.
But apparently the film will be full of Courage's influence, and will be packed with humor, offbeat characters, zany action scenes and, of course, the mystery factor inherent in every Scooby-Doo plot that is perhaps the one element that unites the series.
Written by Mike Ryan, Straight Outta Nowhere and clocking in at 72 minutes, the film makes it seem like Advengers Endgame wasn't nearly the best crossover, making it a must see for old school Cartoon Network fans and is expected to be released on DVD in September as well. I simply can't wait to see this gem.
Pero al parecer la película estará llena de la influencia de Coraje, y estará repleta de humor, personajes poco convencionales, escenas de acción alocadas y, por supuesto, el factor de misterio inherente a toda trama de Scooby-Doo que sea quizás el único elemento que una las series.
Escrita por Mike Ryan, Straight Outta Nowhere y con una duración de 72 minutos, la película hace parecer que Advengers Endgame no fue ni de cerca el mejor crossover, convirtiéndose en algo imprescindible de ver para los fans de la vieja escuela de Cartoon Network y se espera que salga a la venta también en DVD en septiembre. Yo simplemente no puedo esperar a ver esta joya.
