Hello my beautiful people of Hive, I tell you an anecdote, some time ago a Colombian channel interfered with the signal of a Venezuelan TV channel. With nothing to watch and no cable I began to weigh the idea of watching the programming of that channel and I started by watching some morning shows. I noticed that they broadcast several telenovelas but a Turkish series caught my attention.
All I knew about Turkey was the problems it had had with Greece, the Armenian Holocaust, the incomparable beauty of the Bosphorus, the history of Constantinople, I knew that its capital was Ankara and that its president was called Recep Tayyip Erdo臒an. But I knew nothing about the television that was made in that country or what kind of content they consumed.
To my surprise the formula copied the way of making television in Latin America but with fresher and modern stories that made me rethink my vision about that country where the predominant religion is Islam and I definitely fell in love with its language, its stories and its people.

Hola mi gente linda de Hive, les cuento una an茅cdota hace un tiempo un canal colombiano hacia interferencia con la se帽al de un canal de televisi贸n venezolano. Sin nada que ver y sin cable comenc茅 a sopesar la idea de ver la programaci贸n de ese canal y empec茅 por ver algunos programas matutinos. Me di cuenta que transmit铆an varias telenovelas pero una serie turca llamo mi atenci贸n.
De Turqu铆a solo sab铆a los problemas que hab铆a tenido con Grecia, El Holocausto armenio, la inigualable belleza del B贸sforo, la historia de Constantinopla, sab铆a que su capital es Ankara y que su presidente se llamaba Recep Tayyip Erdo臒an. Pero no sab铆a nada de la televisi贸n que se hac铆a en ese pa铆s ni que tipo de contenido consum铆an.
Para mi sorpresa la formula copiaba la manera de hacer televisi贸n en Latinoam茅rica pero con historias m谩s frescas y modernas que me hicieron repensar mi visi贸n acerca de ese pa铆s donde la religi贸n predominante es el islam y definitivamente me enamor茅 de su idioma, de sus historias y de su gente.

Tatl谋 陌ntikam or Sweet Revenge in English is a Turkish TV series released in 2016 by D Productions directed and produced by Bar谋艧 Er莽etin and E. Ay艧e Durmaz respectively, it was written by P谋nar Ordu and 陌lker Arslan and has one season with 30 episodes of about 1 hour or so in length. It stars Leyla Lydia Tu臒utlu Furkan And谋莽 Can Nergis 脟a臒r谋 脟谋tanak Hazal T眉resan and Cemre G眉meli.

Pelin (Leyla Lydia Tugutlu) is a young beautiful girl who never finds happiness in the things of love. In the end she manages to change this fact. She becomes engaged to what she believes is her prince charming, Tolga (Can Nergis). However, in a panic her fianc茅 abandons her at the altar on the wedding day.
After this event Pelin plunges into a deep depression and realizes that all the bad things that are happening to her are karma produced by having hurt someone in the past. So to remedy it he has to find that person to get his forgiveness and be happy in the future. She thinks about her past and realizes that she has to get forgiveness from Tankut (Furkan Andic), who was in love with her when they were in college but was humiliated by her in front of many students destroying that boy's life.
Tankut is now a successful cook and has a restaurant. He is not the same person Pelin knew in the past. After being humiliated, he dropped out of college and changed his life. He went abroad to become a successful chef. He comes back to Turkey as a different guy (changing his name to Sinan), totally self-confident and gorgeous. Pelin thinks he will easily get Tankut/Sinan's forgiveness. However, Tankut/Sinan is no longer the same and wants revenge.
In this story, we will explore a love story that develops between revenge and forgiveness, how we influence for better and for worse other people, but above all how what we do in the past influences the future of our own lives.

Pelin (Leyla Lydia Tugutlu) es una chica hermosa joven que nunca encuentra la felicidad en las cosas del amor. Al final consigue cambiar este hecho. Compromete con que cree es su pr铆ncipe azul, Tolga (Can Nergis). Sin embargo, en un arranque de p谩nico su novio la abandona en el altar el d铆a de la boda.
Tras este hecho Pelin se sumerge en una profunda depresi贸n y se da cuenta de que toda lo malo que le est谩 pasando es el karma producido por haberle hecho da帽o a alguien en el pasado. As铆 que para remediarlo tendr谩 que encontrar a esa persona para conseguir su perd贸n y poder ser feliz en el futuro. Piensa en su pasado y se da cuenta de que tiene que conseguir el perd贸n de Tankut (Furkan Andic), que estaba enamorado de ella cuando estaban en la universidad pero fue humillado por ella delante de muchos estudiantes destruyendo la vida de aquel chico.
Tankut ahora es un cocinero de 茅xito y tiene un restaurante. No es la misma persona que Pelin conoci贸 en el pasado. Despu茅s de ser humillado, dej贸 la universidad y cambi贸 su vida. Se fue al extranjero para conviertirse en un exitoso chef. Vuelve a Turqu铆a como un tipo diferente (cambiando su nombre a Sinan), totalmente seguro de s铆 mismo y guapisimo. Pelin cree que conseguir谩 f谩cilmente el perd贸n de Tankut/Sinan. Sin embargo, Tankut/Sinan ya no es el mismo y quiere vengarse.
En esta historia, se explorar谩 una historia de amor que se desarrolla entre la venganza y el perd贸n, como influimos para bien y para mal en las dem谩s personas, pero sobretodo como lo que hacemos en el pasado influye en el futuro de nuestras propias vidas.

Sweet Revenge can be subtle when you describe it by its name the revenge of life and sweet by the profession of its male protagonist Tankut/Sinan. The story has points in its favor for taking some indispensable traits in the romantic comedies we are used to. Many things might seem silly and even innocent but I simply think it's a matter of Turkey's culture.
I think in a way it's the same story of the ugly duckling turning into a swan and that up to that point is fine because we are talking about another approach, but I think you don't have to change your physique in order to be loved and that message I think is wrong in this kind of comedies.
The couple formed by Leyla Lydia Tu臒utlu and Furkan And谋莽 is spectacular but in the series they spend fighting all the time and that ends up tiring the viewer. There are reconciliations in each chapter but then they fight again and the story constantly repeats itself.

Dulce venganza puede ser sutil cuando la describes por su nombre la venganza de la vida y lo dulce por la profesi贸n de su protagonista masculino Tankut/Sinan. La historia tiene puntos a su favor por tomar algunos rasgos indispensables en las comedias rom谩nticas a las que estamos acostumbrados. Muchas cosas podr铆an parecer tontas y hasta inocentes pero simplemente creo que es cuesti贸n de la cultura de Turqu铆a.
Creo que en cierta forma es la misma historia del patito feo que se convierte en un cisne y eso hasta ese punto est谩 bien porque estamos hablando de otro enfoque, pero creo que no tienes que cambiar tu f铆sico para poder ser amado y ese mensaje creo que es errado en este tipo de comedias.
La pareja conformada por Leyla Lydia Tu臒utlu y Furkan And谋莽 es espectacular pero en la serie se pasan peleando a cada rato y eso termina cansando al espectador. Hay reconciliaciones en cada cap铆tulo pero despu茅s vuelven a pelear y la historia se repite constantemente.
But what I did appreciate were the landscapes, Istanbul was dreamlike, what a show. I loved the music and how at certain moments you believed the story thanks to the chemistry of the main couple. Sweet Revenge is an ode to a genre that is hardly consumed anymore but still works.
I liked the series because I feel that in the end the important thing is to know the countries of origin, culture, love, how they see life and how conservative they are. I found it to be a fresh story ideal for a good time. Many things need to be improved in the dubbing that sometimes loses sense, I understand it should not be easy but the dialogues lose sense and the same happens with Korean productions.
Anyway, if you like dramas and seeing handsome guys on screen this is your story, the Turks are gorgeous and their stories are well told. But will Pelin get Tankut/Sinan's forgiveness? Will Tankut/Sinan forget his first love Pelin after being humiliated in front of the whole university? Will Tankut/Sinan get revenge or forgive Pelin? All this you will find out if you keep track of this funny story of love and forgiveness. I give it a 7/10.
Pero lo que si agradec铆 fueron los paisajes, Estambul estaba de ensue帽o que espect谩culo. Am茅 la m煤sica y como en ciertos momentos te cre铆as la historia gracias a la qu铆mica de la pareja principal. Dulce Venganza es una oda a un g茅nero que ya casi no se consume pero que sigue funcionando.
Me gusto la serie porque siento que al final lo importante es conocer los pa铆ses de origen, la cultura, el amor, como ven la vida y que tan conservadores son. Me he encontrado con una historia fresca ideal para pasar un buen rato. Muchas cosas faltan por mejorar en el doblaje que a veces pierde sentido, lo entiendo no debe ser nada f谩cil pero los di谩logos pierden sentido y lo mismo pasa con producciones coreanas.
En fin si te gustan los dramones y ver chicos guapos en pantalla esta es tu historia, los turcos son guap铆simos y sus historias son bien contadas. Pero 驴Conseguir谩 Pelin obtener el perd贸n de Tankut/Sinan? 驴Olvidar谩 Tankut/Sinan a su primer amor Pelin despu茅s de haber sido humillado delante de toda la universidad? 驴Tankut/Sinan podr谩 vengarse o perdonar a Pelin? Todo esto lo sabr谩s si le sigues el rastro a esta divertida historia de amor y perd贸n. Por mi parte le doy un 7/10.
