Hello Hivers! Today I am pleased to greet you all here again. I want to present this review of a movie I just saw on Netflix, taking advantage of the fact that there was no electricity last night, I decided to watch this film that I had already downloaded on my list of things to see.
Spain has brought to theaters countless cinematic gems, which have brought a huge amount of fans worldwide. That's why when I read the title of this movie I didn't hesitate to watch it, Netflix has a good streak of Made in Spain movies so this was not going to be the exception but....
I better not tell you much, discover it for yourselves through these lines.

¡Hola Hivers! Hoy me complace volverles saludar a todos por aquí. Les quiero presentar esta reseña de una película que acabo de ver en Netflix, aprovechando que no había electricidad anoche, me dispuse a ver este film que ya tenía rato descargado en mi lista de cosas por ver.
España ha traído a los cines un sin número de joyas cinematográficas, que han supuesto una cantidad enorme de fanáticos a nivel mundial. Por eso que cuando leí el título de esta película no dude en verla, Netflix tiene una buena racha de películas Made in Spain así que esta no iba a ser la excepción pero…
Mejor no les cuento mucho, descúbranlo ustedes mismos a través de estas líneas.

A Pesar de Todo or “is a 2019 Spanish film made by Gabriela Tagliavini for the streaming company Netflix, is a romantic comedy film written by Gabriela Tagliavini herself in company of Eugene B. Rhee and Helena Rhee, has a duration of approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. It stars a star-studded cast including Blanca Suarez, Macarena Garcia, Amaia Salamanca and Belen Cuesta.
The soundtrack was in charge of Emilio Kauderer, while Kiko de la Rica was in charge of the photography, choosing Madrid as the main setting for the locations.

A Pesar de Todo es una película española de 2019 realizada por Gabriela Tagliavini para la compañía de streaming Netflix, es un film del genero comedia romántica escrito por la misma Gabriela Tagliavini en compañía de Eugene B. Rhee y Helena Rhee, cuenta con una duración de aproximadamente 1 hora y 20 minutos.. Protagonizada por un tren de estrellas entre lss cuales se encuentran Blanca Suárez, Macarena García, Amaia Salamanca y Belén Cuesta.
La banda sonora estuvo a cargo de Emilio Kauderer, mientras que Kiko de la Rica fue el encargado de la fotografía, eligiendo a Madrid como el escenario principal de las localizaciones.
𝕾𝖞𝖓𝖔𝖕𝖘𝖎𝖘
The death of Carmen (Marisa Paredes), the mother of Sara (Blanca Suárez), Lucía (Macarena García), Sofía (Amaia Salamanca) and Claudia (Belén Cuesta), four sisters with totally different lives and tastes from each other, will end up uniting the family for the reading of her will. With their father Pedro (Juan Diego) suffering from dementia, the four sisters meet with the notary who presents them with a video of their mother's last will. To the sisters' surprise, none of them is the daughter of the one they thought was their biological father and each one has a different father, which will unleash a crazy adventure in which the sisters will get to know each other more intimately in search of their respective fathers.
In the end we have 4 sisters Sara a spinster who takes refuge in her job, Lucia a rebel without a cause, Sofia a lesbian who can't commit to anyone and Claudia a very conservative woman with a failed marriage from which she refuses to leave. Will the sisters find their parents? Will they fulfill their mother's last wish? You will find out all this and much more at the end of this romantic comedy.

La muerte de Carmen (Marisa Paredes) la madre de Sara (Blanca Suárez), Lucía (Macarena García), Sofía (Amaia Salamanca) y Claudia (Belén Cuesta) 4 hermanas con vidas y gustos totalmente diferentes unas de las otras, terminara uniendo a la familia para la lectura de su testamento. Con su padre Pedro (Juan Diego) sufriendo de demencia las 4 hermanas se encontraran con el notario que les presenta un video con la última voluntad de su madre. Para sorpresa de las hermanas ninguna es hija del que creían era su padre biológico y cada una tiene un padre diferente lo que desatara una alocada aventura en la cual las hermanas se conocerán más íntimamente buscando a sus respectivos padres.
En fin tenemos a 4 hermanas Sara una solterona que se refugia en su trabajo, Lucia una rebelde sin causa, Sofía una lesbiana que no logra comprometerse con nadie y Claudia una mujer muy conservadora con un matrimonio fracasado del cual se niega a salir. ¿Encontraran las hermanas a sus padres? ¿cumplirán la última voluntad de su madre? Todo esto y mucho más lo sabrás al final de esta comedia romántica.
𝕸𝖞 𝕺𝖕𝖎𝖓𝖎𝖔𝖓
The first thing I will say is that "A pesar de Todo" is a story totally sustained by its actors, there is nothing new, nothing that shines enough to re-watch the movie. The 4 main actresses were perfect, funny and very well dressed. They all looked like they were going to a fashion show, it was 10 for the costumes.
My favorite scene I found while the sisters were talking in the car, and suddenly they all start smoking a joint while fighting over which of the sisters has the worst life, they all end up laughing out loud because they know they are all fucked up.
Another thing I want to mention before I forget is that there are other characters in the plot that leave their mark as the story unfolds, for example the character of Ines played by Rossy de Palma has little screen time but manages to make you fall in love with her. Others who added originality to the plot were the other fathers of the sisters played by Carlos Bardem, Emilio Gutierrez Caba and Tito Valverde who do wonders. The truth is that I was not surprised by the acting quality of the cast, since it had some of the actors I recognize, such as Blanca Suárez from Las chicas del cable or Amaia Salamanca from Gran Hotel, so I expected to like it from the beginning.

Lo primero que voy a decir es que “A Pesar de Todo” es una historia totalmente sostenida por sus actores, no hay nada nuevo, nada que brille suficientemente como para volver a ver la película. Las 4 actrices principales estuvieron perfectas, divertidas y muy bien vestidas. Todas parecían que iban a un desfile de moda, estuvo de 10 el vestuario.
Mi escena favorita la encontré mientras las hermanas platicabann en el coche, y de pronto todas se ponen a fumar un porro de marihuana mientras pelean por cuál de las hermanas tiene la peor vida, todas terminan riendo a carcajadas porque saben que todas están jodidas.
Otra cosa que quiero mencionar antes de que se me olvide es que hay otros personajes en la trama que van dejando su huella mientras la historia se desarrolla, por ejemplo el personaje de Ines que hace Rossy de Palma esta poco tiempo pantalla pero logra enamorarte. Otros que le agregaron originalidad a la trama fueron los otros padres de las hermanas interpretados por Carlos Bardem, Emilio Gutiérrez Caba y Tito Valverde quienes hacen maravillas. La verdad no me sorprendió la calidad actoral de su elenco ya que contaba con figuras que reconozco como a Blanca Suárez de Las chicas del cable o a Amaia Salamanca de Gran Hotel por lo que esperaba que me gustara desde el principio.
What I also didn't believe was the relationship between Blanca Suarez and Maxi Iglesias 2 actors who had no chemistry and seemed to be friends because you didn't believe the supposed love. In many parts the story was very implausible I think that during the whole movie I was invaded by a feeling of "Ah I've already seen this" and others that I did not get any feeling.
What I did find was a good comedy I laughed a lot but the dramatic moments fell short, the movie failed to sell me on any of the dramatic scenes. Much less was it able to show me the scenarios it wanted to show me of Madrid, they felt very artificial and presumptuous. Anyway, this is not a masterpiece, it's a story to have a good time, it's dumb and silly but the cast is good enough.
If you want to have a good time and get out of the routine this movie is perfect, although it was trashed by critics and went virtually unnoticed at the Malaga Film Festival I give it a 6/10.
Lo que tampoco me creí fue la relación que tenían Blanca Suárez y Maxi Iglesias 2 actores que no tuvieron química y que parecían ser amigos porque no te creías el supuesto amor. En muchas partes la historia fue muy inverosímil creo que durante toda la película me invadió un sentimiento de “Ah esto ya lo vi” y otras que no me no me sacaron ningún sentimiento.
Lo que si encontré fue una buena comedia reí muchísimo pero los momentos de drama quedaron cortos, la película no logró venderme ninguna de las escenas dramáticas. Mucho menos pudo mostrarme los escenarios que quería mostrar de Madrid, se sentían muy artificiales y presuntuosos. En fin esta no es una pieza maestra ni mucho menos más bien es una historia para pasar un buen rato, es tonta muy tonta pero el elenco que tiene le es suficiente.
Si quieres tener un rato agradable y salir de la rutina esta película es perfecta, aunque fue destrozada por la crítica y paso prácticamente desapercibida en el festival de cine de Málaga yo le doy un 6/10.
