🎬 A HORROR MOVIE IS ALWAYS ACCOMPANIED BY LITERS OF BLOOD AND A TOUCH OF BLACK HUMOR.
Horror movies have always generated great curiosity in me and it is because of the way they create scenarios that can impact the viewers, it is not easy to generate in an audio visual way those emotions that generate fear, it is not like going out one night and passing an alley where there is the possibility of being stabbed by a serial killer or the madman on the corner in this world where everything can be possible.
➡️ 🇻🇪 UNA PELICULA DE HORROR VIENE SIEMPRE ACOMPAÑADA DE LITROS DE SANGRE Y UN TOQUE DE HUMOR NEGRO.
Las películas de terror siempre me han generado gran curiosidad y es por su forma de crear escenarios que puedan impactar en los espectadores, no es fácil generar de manera audio visual esa emociones que generan el miedo no es como salir una noche y pasar un callejón donde exista la posibilidad de ser apuñalado por un asesino serial o el loco de la esquina en este ocurro mundo donde todo puede ser posible.
As a kid I didn't have the freedom that some of my friends had to watch certain movies that surely wouldn't let you sleep at night and I understand my parents' concern that I would end up with my bed full of pee and bathed in sweat because of some nightmare that visited my head that long night.
The first movie of the genre that I had the opportunity to see was It from the year 90 a movie that I must be honest I had no idea what it was about or what would be one of those horror movies that my parents didn't like me to see, if I remember correctly I was around 9 or 12 years old (yes at the age of 12 many of my friends had already seen several horror movies or so they made me believe), At the beginning I didn't understand the movie since I started watching it from the middle and I practically missed the most important thing, as the weeks went by I had the opportunity to watch it from the beginning and to enjoy a movie that in the next years would be one of the best movies of the horror genre.
➡️ 🇻🇪 De niño no tenía la libertad que tenían algunos de mis amigos para ver ciertas película que de seguro no te dejarían dormir por la noches y entiendo la preocupación de mi padres por dicha situación de que seguro terminaría con mi cama llena de orine y bañada en sudor por alguna pesadilla que visitara mi cabeza esa larga noche.
La primera película del género que tuve la oportunidad de ver fue It del año 90 una película que debo ser honesto no tenía idea de qué trataba o qué sería de esas de terror que a mis padres no le gustaba que viera, si mal no recuerdo que tenía alrededor de unos 9 o 12 años de edad ( si a los 12 años muchos de mis amigos ya habían visto varias película de terror o eso me hacían creer), la película al inicio no entendía la película ya que la empecé a ver desde la mitad y prácticamente me perdí lo más importante al pasar de las semana fue que tuve la oportunidad de verla desde el inicio y poder disfrutar de una película que en los próximos años sería una mejores películas del género de terror.
After being baptized with It I got into the A Nightmare on Elm Street movie series where Mr. Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) would be responsible for showing me a world where going to sleep would not have the same pleasure as before. From that moment on I got a taste for the genre and acquired a bigger space where not only comedy, adventures and fiction movies would be my favorites, I am 30 years old and I can say that if that night I had not been brave enough to see that movie, for sure my tastes today would be very cool and uninteresting.
Today I want to share with you a little review where I want to talk about two films that move within the same genre, but that are developed in a totally different way and choose a style that can divide the genre community. I should clarify that this is not a versus or a comparison, but rather to review their style and what each film left in me.
LET'S GET TO WHAT WE'RE COMING TO.
➡️ 🇻🇪 Después de haberme bautizado con It me adentre a la serie de películas A Nightmare on Elm Street donde el señor Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) sería el responsable de mostrarme un mundo donde ir a dormir no tendría el mismo placer de antes. Desde ese momento le agarre un gusto al género y adquirir un espacio más grande donde ya no solo las películas de comedia, venturas y ficción serian mis favoritas, tengo 30 años y puede decir que si esa noche no hubiera sido valiente en ver aquella película de seguro mi gustos en día de hoy serían muy fresas y nada interesantes.
El día de hoy quiero compartir con ustedes una pequeña reseña donde quiero hablar sobre dos películas que se mueven dentro del mismo género, pero que se desarrollan de manera totalmente diferente y escogen un estilo que puede dividir a la comunidad conocedora del género. Debo aclarar que no es un versus o una comparación, sino más bien revisar su estilo y lo que dejo en mi cada película.
¡VAMOS A LO QUE VENIMOS!
🎬 LET'S TALK ABOUT "THE LAST MATINÉE".
It is a film of the year 2020 of Uruguayan / Argentinean origin that moves in the genre Terror/Slasher you know those where they die purely teenagers and adults / parents never appear is as if the earth had eaten them, but it is of those resources that you will never see in this type of genre and why they are so attractive to the viewer lover of Slasher since having the parents nearby would make the job more difficult for the murderer.
The film takes place in the 90's where a serial killer enters a movie theater and does his thing without anyone noticing his presence and each of the murders he performs throughout the film. To give you an idea and not tell me more about it because it would be giving you incense Spoilers give you an idea that is in the style of I Know What You Did Last Summer where a hooded killer does his thing without the need to utter any words at least 85% of the film making his character something interesting and that you have trouble understanding what his motivation, if friends these killers always have a reason not just out to kill for the love of art.
➡️ 🇻🇪 HABLEMOS SOBRE “AL MORIR LA MATINNE”
Es una película del año 2020 de origen uruguayo / argentino que se mueve en el género Terror/Slasher ya sabes de esas donde mueren puros adolescentes y los adultos / padres nunca aparecen es como si la tierra se los hubiera comido, pero es de esos recursos que nunca veras en este tipo de género y por la cual son tan atractiva para el espectador amante del Slasher ya que tener a los padres cerca le harían el trabajo más difícil al asesino.
La película se desarrolla en los años 90 donde un asesino serial entra a una sala de cine y hace de las suyas sin que ninguna persona se dé cuenta de su presencia y de cada uno de los asesinatos que va realizando a lo largo del filme. Para darte una idea y así no contarme más sobre ello ya que sería darte Spoilers incensarios date una idea que es al estilo de I Know What You Did Last Summer donde un asesino encapuchado hace de las suyas sin la necesidad de pronunciar ninguna palabra por lo menos en el 85% de la película haciendo de su personaje algo interesante y que te cueste entender cuál es su motivación, si amigos estos asesinos tienen siempre una razón no solo salen a matar por amor al arte.
Something interesting in this movie is to see so many scenes where logic or terror have no sense or any impact that makes you jump off the couch, but it does have a unique style that makes it very interesting to the eye of the good observer. It has scenes with a high level of blood and controlled sadism that show a classic killer but with a heart as dark as night no victim escaped but it falls into the repetitive and predictable which can take you out of the loop, but it is not something that takes you away from the plot and the best thing is that it is a Latin film that brings us closer to our own.
DO I RECOMMEND IT?, when I saw it I had my doubts and I thought that its rhythm or the usual cliché in these movies would bother me and I would end up leaving it in the middle, but the truth is that I was very curious when I realized that its villain would be the center of attention of the whole plot and that just wanting to find out how the possible deaths of the other characters would be kept me hooked until the end, if this kind of movies where blood and scenes a little rough are to your taste I can tell you that I recommend it without fear, but if you find it hard to keep up and want to see something that surprises you I must tell you that this movie is not for you and should see something else so you do not waste your time.

➡️ 🇻🇪 Algo interesante en esta película es ver tantas escenas donde la lógica o el terror no tienen sentido o ningún impacto que te haga brincar del sofá, pero si tiene un estilo único que la hace muy interesante al ojo del buen observador. Tiene escenas con alto nivel de sangre y sadismo contralado que muestran un asesino clásico pero con un corazón tan oscuro como la noche no se le escapó ninguna víctima pero cae en lo repetitivo y predecible lo cual te puede sacar de onda, pero no es algo que te aleje de la trama y lo mejor es que es un filme Latino que nos acerca más a lo nuestro.
¿LA RECOMIENDO?, cuando la vi tenía mis dudas y pensé que su ritmo o el cliché habitual en estas películas me molestaría y terminaría dejándolo por la mitad, pero la verdad es que tenía mucha curiosidad al momento de darme cuenta que su villano sería el centro de atención de toda la trama y que solo querer averiguar cómo serían las posibles muertes de los demás personajes me mantenía enganchado hasta el final, si este tipo de películas donde la sangre y escenas un poco toscas son de tu gusto te puedo decir que te la recomiendo sin miedo alguno, pero si te cuesta seguir el ritmo y deseas ver algo que te sorprenda debo decirte que esta película no es para ti y debe ver otra cosa para que no pierdas tu tiempo.

🎬 LET'S TALK ABOUT "VICIOUS FUN".
This movie in particular is one of those that can cause you a big headache or as we say in Venezuela a brutal balls pain here they combine Horror with Comedy but half way and let me tell you that if you are one of those who believe that a horror movie should not have comedy let me tell you that you are wrong many movies manage to unite this genre and do it very well for example the movie The Babysitter the saga of Scream and all of Chucky do it very well and I will not name more because the list is somewhat long.
Of course not all of them are gems, we have some like Countdown, Truth Or Dare, just to name the worst I've seen in the last months and which added to the list VICIOUS FUN that having an interesting idea sent everything to hell and missed a great opportunity.
I'll put you in context so you have a little idea of what the movie is about, we will meet a horror film critic named Joel (Evan Marsh) who one night for being chasing Bob (Ari Millen) a suitor of his roommate that this guy is in love with stumbles upon a meeting of a group of help killers who will discover his true identity and why he is in that place uninvited. The film is set in the 80's and we will see how a dozen situations will make the escape of this great connoisseur of horror cinema his worst nightmare.
Up to this point everything sounds interesting and the vibe it gives us in the first 15 minutes can tell you it's great and grabs you, but then it all goes to waste when we see that they don't give the seriousness that some scenes deserve and we see how they exaggerate the comedy side making it not funny at all and more of a bad joke. The scenes where it shows the deaths are full of a lot of blood and on a visual level it is enjoyable and I can't deny that, but on a narrative level it has no head or tail and that in many of the movies I have let it pass but here it is a little difficult to pretend you are not watching a big shit stuck on the windshield of your car.
➡️ 🇻🇪 HABLEMOS SOBRE “VICIOUS FUN”
Esta película en particular si es de esas que te pueden causar un gran dolor de cabeza o como decimos en Venezuela un dolor de bolas brutal aquí combinan el Terror con la Comedia pero a medias y déjame decirte que si eres de esos que cree que una película de terror no debe tener comedia déjame decirte que estas equivocado muchas películas logran unir este género y hacerlo muy bien por ejemplo la película The Babysitter la saga de Scream y todas la de Chucky lo logran muy bien y no te nombro mas ya que la lista es algo larga.
Claro no todas son unas joyas de película, tenemos algunas como Countdown, Truth Or Dare, por solo nombrar las peores que yo he visto en los últimos meses y la cual sumó a la lista ** VICIOUS FUN** que teniendo una idea interesante mandó todo al carajo y dejaron escapar un gran oportunidad.
Te pondré en contexto para que tengas una pequeña idea de lo que trata la película, conoceremos a un crítico del cine del terror llamado Joel (Evan Marsh) quien una noche por estar persiguiendo a Bob (Ari Millen) un pretendiente de su compañera de cuarto de la que este chico esta enamorado se topa con una reunión de un grupo de ayuda de asesinos que descubrirán su verdadera identidad y el por qué está en ese lugar sin invitación. La película está ambientada en los años 80 y veremos como una docena de situaciones hará del escape de este gran conocedor del cine del terror su peor pesadilla.
Hasta este punto todo suena interesante y la vibra que nos arroja en los primeros 15 minutos pueda decirte que es genial y te atrapa, pero luego todo se echa a perder cuando vemos que no le dan la seriedad que merece algunas escenas y vemos como exageran el lado de la comedia haciéndola nada divertida y más bien un mal chiste. Las escenas donde muestra las muertes están llenas de mucha sangre y a nivel visual es disfrutable y eso no lo puedo negar, pero a nivel narrativo no tiene ni pies ni cabeza y eso en muchas de las películas lo he dejado pasar pero aquí es un poco difícil hacer como si no estuvieras viendo una gran mierda pegada en el parabrisas de tu carro.
Its characters are to be forgotten and not even the gentleman (David Koechner) who appears in the film manages to save it since they stupidly do not give him enough time in the scene and waste it like throwing a cake in half to the trash can, I am sure that if they had given him more importance within the film another rooster would sing, that is to say, it would have had another atmosphere and maybe I would have liked it.
DO I RECOMMEND IT?, no of course not since for me it is very boring and not even the bloody scenes motivate me to tell you to go and see it, but every head is a world and maybe for you it is an interesting movie and therefore I must tell you that if you want to go see it and draw your own conclusions about this attempt of horror and comedy movie almost set in the 80s. Before I finish about this movie I must confess that if I liked something more its melody where you can feel how a dark atmosphere that gives you warning that something terrible is about to happen the one who knows for sure can associate those background melodies with other movies of the time.
TO CONCLUDE...
These two movies are like oil and water, you can't mix them and much less try to compare them, each one has its own style and its own audience, that has a lot of thought within the genre-loving community. ➡️ 🇻🇪 Sus personajes son para el olvido y ni siquiera el señor (David Koechner) quien aparece en la película logra salvarla ya que estúpidamente no le dan el tiempo suficiente en escena y lo desperdician como lanzar una torta a la mitad al basurero, estoy seguro que si le hubieran dado más importancia dentro del filme otro gallo cantaría es decir hubiera tenido otro ambiente y quizás me hubiera gustado.
¿LA RECOMIENDO?, no claro que no ya que para mí es muy aburrida y ni siquiera las escenas sangrientas me motivan a decirte que vayas y la veas, pero cada cabeza es un mundo y quizás sea para ti una película interesante y por lo cual debo decirte que si quieres ve a verla y saca tu tus propias conclusiones sobre este intento de película de terror y comedia casi ambientada en los años 80. Antes de finalizar sobre esta película debo confesar que si me gusto algo más su melodía donde puedes sentir como se emboca una atmósfera oscura que te da aviso a que algo terrible está por suceder el que es conocedor de seguro podrá asociar esas melodías de fondo con otras películas de la época.
PARA FINALIZAR…
Estas dos películas son como el agua y el aceite no se pueden mezclar y mucho menos intentar comparar cada una tiene su estilo y su público eso tiene mucho pensó dentro de la comunidad amante del género.
