🎬 LA GUERRA TIENE TANTOS SIGNIFICADOS Y COLORES QUE ES DIFÍCIL DISTINGUIRLO EN UN MUNDO DONDE YA NO EXISTE MOTIVO PARA MATARNOS ENTRE HERMANOS.
La guerra ha significado para algunos su libertad y para otros la pérdida de miles de personas y de familias que han dejado un enorme dolor en miles de corazones y a pesar de que la guerra pueda ser definida de maneras diferentes siempre tendrá el mismo impacto en el mundo. No soy un conocedor sobre lo que sucedió durante la 1 y 2 Guerra Mundial más allá de lo que acabo de decir y eso me pone en una posición donde debo expresarme bajo unas limitantes sin la vaga intención de profundizar sobre los hechos reales o falsos de a guerra y lo que significó para la humanidad.
Como todo amante de las películas he tenido la oportunidad de toparme con el género de películas bélicas que muestran un poco de ese mundo tan brutal desde diferentes puntos de vista y mostrando realidades distintas tanto en tiempo como lugar en este enorme mundo. La primera película que tuve la suerte de ver fue Saving Private Ryan es la más famoso dentro del género y la que nos brindó escenas tan bien realizadas que podías tener una idea mínima de lo que sería estar dentro de un momento de tensión en una batalla o simplemente al momento de realizar una retirada sin importar cómo lo veas te podías dar una idea de lo que eso se significaba y la película lo supo lograr. Sin olvidar la conmovedora y exitosa The Pianist quien nos mostró aún más de cerca lo que se vivió durante la época Nazi y como un hombre desde su perspectiva puede ver una realidad que escapa de todo lo que cualquiera pudiera pensar y que lo hace tan profunda que no basta la imaginación para llegar a entender lo que ese tiempo se significó para millones de personas donde la sangre y la tristeza eran los protagonistas.
➡️ WAR HAS SO MANY MEANINGS AND COLORS THAT IT IS DIFFICULT TO DISTINGUISH IT IN A WORLD WHERE THERE IS NO LONGER A REASON TO KILL EACH OTHER.
War has meant for some their freedom and for others the loss of thousands of people and families that have left a huge pain in thousands of hearts and even though war can be defined in different ways it will always have the same impact on the world. I am not a connoisseur of what happened during World War I and World War II beyond what I have just said and that puts me in a position where I must express myself under some limitations without the vague intention of delving into the real or false facts of the war and what it meant for mankind.
As every movie lover I have had the opportunity to come across the genre of war movies that show a bit of that brutal world from different points of view and showing different realities both in time and place in this huge world. The first movie I was lucky enough to see was Saving Private Ryan is the most famous within the genre and the one that gave us scenes so well done that you could have a minimal idea of what it would be like to be inside a moment of tension in a battle or simply at the time of a retreat no matter how you see it you could get an idea of what that meant and the film knew how to achieve it. Without forgetting the moving and successful The Pianist who showed us even more closely what was lived during the Nazi era and how a man from his perspective can see a reality that escapes everything that anyone could think and that makes it so deep that imagination is not enough to understand what that time meant for millions of people where blood and sadness were the protagonists.
Con el tiempo llegaron otras películas las cuales también pude ver tales como Inglourious Basterds, Lone Survivor, War Horse y una de mis favoritas American Sniper cada una de estas películas tienen un lugar especial en mi catálogo y sé que aún quedan docenas de películas tanto actuales como viejas que no hace mención ya que esto se haría mucho más largo de lo que deseo que sea y me enfocare en lo que yo considero de buen valor y haya visto obviamente. Cada película que nos habla de la guerra se enfoca en intentar captar momentos históricos o momentos actuales que de una forma personalizada puede transmitir lo que podrá estar pasando en cualquier parte del mundo. Todos tienen una forma de crear ese contenido y a pesar de que todo en ello tiene un enorme significado nunca dejan de lado esas escenas de acción de las cuales cada uno de nosotros disfrutamos al 100% solo sentir esa adrenalina y lo espectacular de las explosiones genera en el espectador una enorme curiosidad.
Blizzard of Souls muestra un poco de lo que ya hemos visto y no impacta a nivel de fotografía o efectos visuales donde está su mayor atractivo es la parte humana donde podemos ver cómo un joven debe lidiar con una situación donde su mente y cuerpo no están preparados para una situación que a pesar forma parte de su mundo y no es ajeno a la situación no logra entender como personas iguales pueden tomar esa decisión de acabar con la ida de otra persona por decisión de personas ajenas a ellos mismos. Además cuenta con otro gancho y es ver como una familia es de a poco desgarrada por la guerra y deben estar con la vista puesta hacia lo que se les pide sin importar ese lado familiar que los une.
En esta reseña no compare esta película con otras ya que sería una locura y mucho menos voy a criticar si la trama es buena o mala ya que debemos estar claros que la guerra es un asunto delicado y lo que se vivió no se puede medir con simples palabras. Lo que sí puedo hacer es dar mi punto desde lo emocional, técnico y lo que pude captar en una película que aunque es más de lo mismo basa todo su desarrollo en una historia real que está basada en la novela homónima de (Aleksandrs Grīns).

Every film that tells us about war focuses on trying to capture historical moments or current moments that in a personalized way can convey what may be happening anywhere in the world. They all have a way of creating that content and even though everything in it has a huge meaning they never leave aside those action scenes that each one of us enjoy 100% just feeling that adrenaline and the spectacular explosions generates in the viewer a huge curiosity.
Blizzard of Souls shows a little of what we have already seen and does not impact at the level of photography or visual effects where its main attraction is the human part where we can see how a young man must deal with a situation where his mind and body are not prepared for a situation that although part of his world and is not alien to the situation fails to understand how people can make the same decision to end the life of another person by decision of people outside themselves. It also has another hook and is to see how a family is gradually torn apart by the war and must be with an eye to what is asked of them regardless of the family side that unites them.
In this review I will not compare this movie with others as that would be crazy and much less will I criticize if the plot is good or bad as we must be clear that war is a delicate matter and what was experienced cannot be measured with simple words. What I can do is to give my point from the emotional, technical and what I could capture in a film that although it is more of the same bases all its development on a true story that is based on the novel of the same name (Aleksandrs Grīns).

Una película Letona con una duración de 2h 3m donde viajaremos de la mano de un joven llamado Arturs Vanags (Oto Brantevics) quien nos mostrará desde su visión lo que significa estar en la guerra a tan corta edad y lo que se vive en el campo de batalla donde miles de hombres mueren y quienes quedan con vida viven una pesadilla que no tiene ningún tipo de rival.
En la época de La Alemania Nazi es decir durante la Primera Guerra Mundial este joven tuvo que pasar de ser un niño a un hombre y enfrentar cada situación como si fuera la última de su vida acompañado de su hermano mayor Edgars Vanags (Raimonds Celms) y su padre Vanags (Mārtiņš Vilsons) deberá entender que un país depende de hombre que entienda que la guerra significa la libertad o muerte para millones de personas que esperan que eso hombres hagan todo lo que este en sus manos por un bien común su libertad.
Veremos como pasa por situaciones donde el tener un rifle en sus manos no tiene sentido y que poco a poco irá conociendo ese lado oscuro y desagradable de tener que quitarle la vida a otro hombre para salvar la suya o la de algún ser querido. Durante su travesía dentro de la guerra conocerá el amor y el odio de maneras tan distintas que forjarán su personalidad viviendo cada momento con miedo a la muerte.

A Letona movie with a duration of 2h 3m where we will travel by the hand of a young man named Arturs Vanags (Oto Brantevics) who will show us from his vision what it means to be in the war at such a young age and what is lived in the battlefield where thousands of men die and those who are left alive live a nightmare that has no rival.
At the time of Nazi Germany that is during World War I this young man had to go from being a boy to a man and face every situation as if it were the last of his life accompanied by his older brother Edgars Vanags (Raimonds Celms) and his father Vanags (Mārtiņš Vilsons) must understand that a country depends on men who understand that war means freedom or death for millions of people who expect that men do everything in their hands for the common good, their freedom.
We will see how he goes through situations where having a rifle in his hands makes no sense and that little by little he will get to know the dark and unpleasant side of having to take the life of another man to save his own or that of a loved one. During his journey through the war he will meet love and hate in such different ways that will forge his personality, living every moment in fear of death.

Como ya deben saber gracias a lo que explico al inicio de la reseña me he topado con muchas películas del género que nos muestran distintos punto de vista de lo que significó la guerra hace años y lo que significa actualmente desde visiones y ángulos que siempre nos llevan hacia la misma dirección pero con un tono distinto. Las películas basadas en hechos reales siempre me han llamado la atención y no importa el contexto donde se desenvuelven siempre será un placer ver cada una de ellas.
Con este filme pude entender lo que podría pasar por la cabeza de un niño que está entrando en su etapa adolecente y que debido a su época debo madurar dentro de la guerra y encontrarse con esa etapa adulta que debido a lo que vive irá desarrollando el siempre hecho de tener eso en mente nos deja claro que no es nada fácil y que puede existir una línea delgada entre la locura y la cordura y como no haberlo los veteranos de guerra siempre hablan sobre lo crudo y triste de ese mundo y que no importa lo fuerte que seas ese momento de tu vida en radical.
Yo en el año 2014 preste servicio militar en mi país (Venezuela) y no lo estoy comparando con nada a la guerra obviamente que no, pero quiero mostrar un ejemplo que viví y es la cuestión de la soledad de estar alejado de no solo de tu familia sino también de todo aquello que te rodea cuando fui a mi periodo de campo donde se entrenan para que puedas luego prestar el servicio yo estuve con cientos de aspirantes en una montaña por 60 días y eso para mí era nuevo y cuando veo esta película y veo como pasa por diferentes etapas ante de llegar a lo definitivo solo puedo pensar que la vida te pone en lugares donde debes sacar el pecho.
Algunas escenas donde podemos ver el lado crudo nos deja claro que tienes que tener la sangre fría para que no te afecte nada de lo que pueda llegar a ver y logras conectar con el protagonista cuando lo vemos en situaciones donde se topa con el enemigo y no sabe qué hacer quedando congelado y siendo salvado por algún compañero y lo vemos casi en toda la película al igual que esos momento de tranquilidad donde una comida o una simple charla puede lograr que se desconecte de lo que está viviendo.

MY SPOILER FREE OPINION
As you may already know thanks to what I explain at the beginning of the review I have come across many films of the genre that show us different points of view of what the war meant years ago and what it means today from visions and angles that always take us to the same direction but with a different tone. Films based on real events have always caught my attention and no matter the context in which they are set it will always be a pleasure to watch each one of them.
With this film I could understand what could go through the head of a child who is entering his adolescent stage and that because of his time I must mature in the war and meet that adult stage due to what he lives will develop the always having that in mind makes it clear that it is not easy and that there may be a fine line between madness and sanity and how not to have war veterans always talk about how raw and sad that world and that no matter how strong you are that time of your life in radical.
In 2014 I did military service in my country (Venezuela) and I am not comparing it with anything to the war obviously not, But I want to show an example that I lived and is the issue of loneliness of being away from not only your family but also everything around you when I went to my field period where they train so you can then serve I was with hundreds of candidates in a mountain for 60 days and that was new to me and when I see this movie and see how it goes through different stages before reaching the final I can only think that life puts you in places where you have to stick out your chest.
Some scenes where we can see the raw side makes it clear that you have to be cold-blooded to not be affected by anything that you can get to see and you get to connect with the protagonist when we see him in situations where he encounters the enemy and does not know what to do being frozen and being saved by a companion and we see it almost throughout the film as well as those moments of tranquility where a meal or a simple chat can make you disconnect from what you are living.
LA FAMILIA Y LA GUERRA, es difícil dejar de lado este tipo de emociones que siempre viene acompañado de un valor significativo para quien viva cualquier momento trágico en su vida y con estas películas debemos dejar de un lado por unos instantes las escenas de acción o lo genial que se pueda ver la fotografía de cualquier filme basado en la guerra o situaciones parecidas ya que una parte importante para que esto tenga éxito es tratar de transmitir al espectador cada emoción que pueda tener gran impacto lo cual hace de historia algo más personal y puedas entrar en situación. Aquí lo vemos muy de cerca y es que no todos dentro de estas guerras pueden decir que es un honor tener a su lado algún familiar ya que eso puede generar mayor tensión o preocupación a quien se enfrenta a este tipo de situaciones y la forma en cómo lo desarrollan aquí es muy bueno hasta cierto punto ya que dejan pasar situaciones o emociones que pudieron ser explotadas aún más y no dejarlas tan lineales y poco intensas.
Claro con esto no quiero decir que la película pierda su encanto o sea una más del montón ya que eso sería decir que todas las guerras son lo mismo y no es así solo que algunas saben explotar más las emociones y otras se enfocan en lo visual.
¿LA RECOMIENDO?, si el género bélico te gusta te puedo recomendar que le eches un vistazo a una historia sencilla de digerir y con una trama que tiene como base un hecho real que de seguro logrará captar tu atención, no verás muchas escenas de acción que te vuelen la cabeza ya que se lo toman muy relajado y hacen todo perfil bajo intentando estar lo más cercano a la realidad sin dejarse llevar por lo exagerado. Por otro lado si eres más de esas películas donde las balas y las muertes exageradas son las protagonistas debo decirte que esta película puede que no te llegue a gustar y podría recomendarte en su lugar esta otra película que tiene más carne para cortar y es 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi o The Kill Team las cuales tienen muchas escenas de acción de inicio a fin.
➡️ FAMILY AND WAR, It is difficult to leave aside this type of emotions that always comes with a significant value for those who live any tragic moment in their lives and with these films we must leave aside for a moment the action scenes or how great the photography of any film based on war or similar situations can look because an important part for this to be successful is to try to convey to the viewer every emotion that can have great impact which makes history something more personal and you can enter into the situation. Here we see it very closely and not everyone in these wars can say that it is an honor to have a family member by their side because that can generate greater tension or concern to those who face such situations and the way they develop it here is very good to some extent because they let situations or emotions that could be exploited even more and not leave them so linear and little intense.
Of course with this I don't mean that the movie loses its charm or is just another one of the bunch because that would be saying that all wars are the same and it's not like that only that some know how to exploit more the emotions and others focus on the visuals.
DO I RECOMMEND IT?, If you like the war genre, I can recommend that you take a look at a simple story to digest and with a plot that is based on a real event that will surely capture your attention, you will not see many action scenes that will blow your mind because they take it very relaxed and do everything low profile trying to be as close to reality without getting carried away by the exaggeration. On the other hand if you are more of those movies where bullets and exaggerated deaths are the protagonists I must tell you that you may not like this movie and I could recommend instead this other movie that has more meat to cut and that is 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi or The Kill Team which have many action scenes from start to finish.

LO MALO
Su tiempo de duración es muy corto y pudo haber tenido 30 minutos extras para desarrollar un poco más la historia.
Como lo dije antes algunas escenas no mantuvieron el ritmo o tensión que se necesita para lograr el impacto adecuado en el espectador.
LO BUENO
Su fotografía y ambientaciones son alucinantes, todo a campo abierto deja una visión de lo que se puede o se llegó a vivir en el campo de batalla.
Los diálogos son parte importante de la historia y es donde más atención prestamos ya que recuerda que está basada en hechos reales y es crucial conocer los puntos de vista de cada personaje y cómo lograr lidiar con lo que significa estar en entre la vida y la muerte.

- Its running time is too short and could have had an extra 30 minutes to develop the story a little more.
- As I said before, some scenes did not maintain the pace or tension needed to achieve the right impact on the viewer.
THE GOOD THINGS
- Its photography and settings are amazing, everything in the open field gives a glimpse of what you can or got to live in the battlefield.
- The dialogues are an important part of the story and it is where we pay more attention because remember that it is based on real events and it is crucial to know the points of view of each character and how to deal with what it means to be in between life and death.
