Hello to the entire Hive community. In this post I come to comment on my first experience with an Indian film, that is to say, Bollywood cinema. My uncle @kruznik7 recommended that I watch some movie of Indian origin so I decided to look on Netflix and I came across this.
Skater Girl is a movie that teaches us about our dreams and how to keep fighting for them. The film is about a girl (Prenna) who meets a London woman (Jessica) in a town in India called Rajasta and they soon become friends. Then this woman meets a friend from Los Angeles who happens to skate and since then she has fallen in love with skateboarding.
Hola a toda la comunidad de Hive. En este post les vengo a comentar mi primera experiencia con una película de la india, es decir del cine de Bollywood. Mi tio @kruznik7 me recomendó que viese alguna película de origen indio así que decidí buscar en Netflix y me encontré con esto.
Chica Skater es una película que nos enseña acerca de nuestros sueños y como seguir luchando por ellos. La película va de una chica (Prenna ) que se encuentra con una mujer de Londres (Jessica )en un pueblo de la india llamado Rajasta y pronto hacen una amistad. Luego esta mujer se encuentra con un amigo de Los Angeles que casualmente patina y desde entonces ella queda enamorada del skateboarding.
It sounds like a simple plot or out of a typical sports movie but it is not. In India, people live in a completely different way than we do and this is special in women who must marry at an early age and often with arranged marriages and that is something that I will never be able to understand.
India is already an exotic country but also very conservative and that is worse in the villages. The fact of skating in Rajasthan was a strange event, in fact the children did not know skateboarding and that a girl skating was seen as even more strange but Prenna did not care what the others said and little by little she began to learn to skate and to do tricks despite the warnings of his father who constantly told him that he should not go wasting time on such things.
Suena como una trama sencilla o salida de una típica película de deportes pero no lo es. En la india se vive de una manera completamente distinta a como nosotros lo hacemos y esto es especial en las mujeres que deben casarse a temprana edad y frecuentemente con matrimonios arreglados y eso es algo que nunca podre entender.
Ya de por si la India es un país exótico pero también muy conservador y eso es peor en los pueblos. El hecho de patinar en Rajasta era un suceso extraño, de hecho los niños no conocían el skateboarding y que una chica patinara era visto como aún más extraño pero a Prenna no le importo lo que dijeran los demás y poco a poco empezó a aprender a patinar y a hacer trucos pese a las advertencias de su padre que le decía constantemente que no debía andar perdiendo el tiempo en esas cosas.
Prenna's father is a very conservative and macho guy who forces this girl to abandon her dreams by burning her skateboard and forcing her into a marriage and this is when things start to get a little darker.
Obviously I do not want to make more spoilers but just comment on what the movie is going and how it develops. This is my first experience with Bollywood cinema and I think I feel lucky, I was amazed with the beautiful message that this film leaves so soon I will be writing more about these types of films.
The message that he leaves us apart from fighting for our dreams is also about the flaws in the Indian system, such as castes and machismo. I do not consider myself a feminist but a girl who seeks equality and I hate having to know that in the XXI century there are still such primitive and conservative people.
El padre de Prenna es un tipo muy conservador y machista que obliga a esta chica a abandonar sus sueños quemándole la patineta y forzándola a un matrimonio y es aquí cuando las cosas empiezan a tornarse un poco más oscuras.
Obviamente no les quiero hacer más spoilers sino solo comentar de que va la película y como se va desarrollando. Esta es mi primera experiencia con cine de Bollywood y creo que me siento afortunada, me quede maravillada con el hermoso mensaje que deja esta película asi que próximamente estaré escribiendo más acerca de este tipo de películas.
El mensaje que nos deja aparte de luchar por nuestros sueños es también acerca de las fallas en el sistema indio, como las castas y el machismo. No me considero feminista pero si una chica que busca la igualdad y odio tener que saber que en pleno siglo XXI todavía existen personas tan primitivas y conservadoras.

Nadie debería tener el poder de truncar los sueños de otros. Todos somos libres de luchar por lo que queremos y hacer que nuestras metas se hagan realidad, no importa si se trata de ir al espacio o de patinar lo importante es la lucha, el esfuerzo y ver que a otros les cierren el camino solo por no ser de su gusto me parece una actitud desagradable. Esto pasa en el mundo entero, padres tratando de controlar cada minuto de la vida de sus hijos pero somos seres humanos y no una posesión ni tampoco un templo de frustraciones.
Cada quien debería vivir su vida como plazca siempre y cuando no le hagan daño a otros ni a si mismos. En esta película podemos ver a una chica que lucha por su sueño hasta el final porque es lo único que la hace sentir libre, estar en un patineta y es lo que yo también pretendo hacer con mi vida, luchar por mis sueños y forjarme mi propio futuro.
Recomiendo completamente esta película- Está disponible en Netflix y creo que no los decepcionara. Si ya la han visto háganmelo saber, me gustaría conocer la opinión de todos ustedes. Saludos a toda la comunidad de Movies & TVShows.
