Hello fellow hivers, I’m glad to be back writing for you, this time I’m doing this great initiative created by @isabellav505 (you can see her post clicking here). I have to say I’m more drawn towards the DC Universe but I also enjoy the MCU. It was a hard choice choosing my favorite Avenger but after much consideration I’ve decided to go with the one and only Dr. Strange, who is not part of the official team of Avengers but as we can see in the movies, is there to help when need it.
Hola compañeros hivers, me alegro de volver a escribir para todos, esta vez lo hago con esta gran iniciativa creada por @isabellav505 (puedes ver su post haciendo click aquí). Tengo que decir que me atrae más el Universo DC pero también disfruto del MCU. Ha sido difícil elegir a mi Vengador favorito, pero después de pensarlo mucho me he decidido por el único e inigualable Dr. Strange, que no forma parte del equipo oficial de Vengadores pero como podemos ver en las películas, está ahí para ayudar cuando se le necesita.
Dr. Stephen Strange is a rich and brilliant neurosurgeon with an ego that could match Tony Stark’s. He treats people around him condescendingly, but one day his life is ruined by a car accident that wrecked his hand, leaving him without the thing he appreciated the most: his career. In his desperation he travels to Nepal searching for a cure for his ruined hands, he found himself under the tutelage of the Ancient One, a powerful sorcerer who opens him up to worlds he never believed could possibly exist.
El Dr. Stephen Strange es un rico y brillante neurocirujano con un ego que podría igualar al de Tony Stark. Trata a la gente de su entorno con condescendencia, pero un día su vida se ve arruinada por un accidente de auto que le destroza las manos, dejándolo sin lo que más apreciaba: su carrera. En su desesperación viaja a Nepal en busca de una cura para sus manos arruinadas, y se encuentra bajo la tutela del Antiguo, un poderoso hechicero que le abre los ojos a mundos que nunca creyó que pudieran existir.
At this point the MCU is a well-oiled machine, so the expectations with this movie were high, and I must say it did not disappoint, well at least not me. You got the main character, an irreverent man who suddenly lost everything that makes him who he was and tries to recover it at any cost, but somehow he just happens to become a great sorcerer, surpassing those with decades of practice, because you know, he was born for that role (sounds familiar? Well that is the same line for every main character in almost all of the superhero movies, they’re just born with those abilities and need to fulfill their destiny).
A estas alturas el MCU es una máquina bien aceitada, así que las expectativas con esta película eran altas, y debo decir que no decepcionó, bueno, al menos no a mí. Tienes al protagonista, un hombre irreverente que de repente perdió todo lo que lo hace ser quien era y trata de recuperarlo a toda costa, pero de alguna manera, resulta que se convierte en un gran hechicero, superando a aquellos con décadas de práctica, porque ya sabes, nació para ese papel (¿te suena? Pues esa es la misma línea de todos los personajes principales de casi todas las películas de superhéroes, simplemente nacen con esas habilidades y necesitan cumplir con su destino).
Dr. Strange show us a fascinating world filled with magic, where you can cast spells, bend time, conjure weapons and of course my personal favorite open portals, let’s face it, who doesn’t want to be able to do that? Open a portal and end up in Hawaii? Um yes. But you would have to be careful thought, I’d be really creepy if you accidentally end up in another dimension ruled by cockroaches or some crazy thing like that.
El Dr. Strange nos muestra un mundo fascinante lleno de magia, donde puedes lanzar hechizos, manipular el tiempo, conjurar armas y, por supuesto, mi favorito, abrir portales, seamos sinceros, ¿Quién no quiere ser capaz de hacer eso? ¿Abrir un portal y acabar en Hawái? Si, por favor. Pero tendrías que tener cuidado, sería realmente espeluznante si accidentalmente terminas en otra dimensión gobernada por cucarachas o alguna locura como esa.
But for me the best aspect of the film is its rich visuals, the CGI is phenomenal from buildings folding and reforming into different shapes, to the characters breaking the laws of physics.
Pero para mí el mejor aspecto de la película es su riqueza visual, el CGI es fenomenal, desde los edificios que se doblan y reforman en diferentes formas, hasta los personajes que rompen las leyes de la física.
