Yes, we fool ourselves.

We hate it, don't we?

When someone lies to us, when someone makes fun of us. If someone promises us something and doesn't keep their promise. Yes, then we are angry and never forget what happened. We write about it on social media, we make memes to share, we complain and sometimes we even take revenge.

Crazy actually. Because you know by whom we are fooled the most? By ourselves!

Yes, we fool ourselves.

Just look at that man who promises himself every day that he is going to quit smoking. And who after years still hasn't done it.

Look at that woman who tells herself every day that she will start her diet tomorrow. But who after months has still not started.

Look at that student who just got a failing grade and who promises herself to study well in advance next time. And who keeps failing to do it anyway.

Or the person who wants to eat healthier, but can't pass up that burger.

Look at that person who wants to get out of an abusive relationship every time, but who keeps fooling themself under the guise of love.

We fool ourselves daily.

We promise ourselves things that we keep shifting to tomorrow.

But if we want others to treat us differently, we must first start treating ourselves differently.
Only then we become a better person. And only then we will be treated better by others.
Therefore, start with yourself.❤️

Let this post be a quick reminder to you: stop fooling yourself! Make promises to yourself and keep those promises!
