Eso es lo que me pasó con mi hijo, aprendió a hablar muy rápido y le gustaba mucho conversar, incluso con personas que no conocía, pero había ciertas letras que no pronunciaba y las sustituía por otras, como es el caso de la letra R, mi hijo para decir carro, decía calo, igualmente la letra S, para decir sapo, decía tapo, también la F, la sustituía por la t, y para decir Franklin decía tranklin.
That is what happened to me with my son, he learned to speak very fast and he liked to talk very much, even with people he did not know, but there were certain letters that he did not pronounce and replaced them with others, as is the case of the letter R, my son to say car, said calo, likewise the letter S, to say sapo, said tapo, also the F, he replaced it with the t, and to say Franklin he said tranklin.
Ese problema era algo fuerte, pero los pediatras no me dijeron nada al respecto, solo que cada niño era diferente y que cada uno se tomaba su tiempo. Más tarde mi hijo entró en el colegio y el problema continuó, la profesora del aula me planteó la situación y me sugirió que visitara a un foniatra y lo pusiera en terapia. En esa época nuestra situación económica no era muy buena, ya que solo había para lo necesario, por este motivo fue imposible realizar estas terapias.
That problem was something strong, but the pediatricians did not tell me anything about it, only that each child was different and that each one took his time. Later my son entered school and the problem continued, the classroom teacher brought the situation to my attention and suggested that I visit a speech therapist and put him in therapy. At that time our economic situation was not very good, since we only had enough money for what was necessary, for this reason it was impossible to carry out these therapies.
Recuerdo que mi tía, una mujer de 60 años, que no sabía leer ni escribir, me dijo que estuviera tranquila que podríamos solucionarlo con la ayuda de un lápiz y así fue. Colocamos el lápiz encima de la lengua de mi hijo durante 5 minutos todos los días y nos poníamos a cantar y en menos de un mes ya pronunciaba las letras S, G y F. Luego hicimos el ejercicio de forma contraria esta vez colocamos el lápiz debajo de la lengua de mi hijo durante casi dos meses, los mismos cinco minutos y las mismas canciones todos los días y empezó a pronunciar la letra R.
I remember that my aunt, a 60 year old woman, who could neither read nor write, told me to be calm that we could solve it with the help of a pencil, and so it was. We placed the pencil on my son's tongue for 5 minutes every day and we started singing and in less than a month he was pronouncing the letters S, G and F. Then we did the exercise in the opposite way this time we placed the pencil under my son's tongue for almost two months, the same five minutes and the same songs every day and he began to pronounce the letter R.
Recuerdo que la profesora de la clase me llamó y me felicitó porque mi hijo pronunciaba las palabras correctamente. Años después me di cuenta que mi hijo tenía un frenillo lingual corto y me di cuenta leyendo en internet, porque ningún pediatra me informó de tal situación, hasta ahora no ha producido más problemas de lenguaje, pero de igual forma estamos considerando la posibilidad de una operación ya que esto ocasiona, problemas de postura y respiración.
I remember the class teacher called me and congratulated me because my son was pronouncing the words correctly. Years later I realized that my son had a short lingual frenulum and I found out by reading on the internet, because no pediatrician informed me of such a situation, so far it has not produced more language problems, but we are still considering the possibility of an operation since this causes posture and breathing problems.
Como recomendación final les puedo decir que estén pendientes del frenillo lingual de sus hijos, porque una operación de este estilo siempre es más aconsejable en los primeros años de vida.
As a final recommendation I can tell you to be aware of the lingual frenulum of your children, because an operation of this style is always more advisable in the first years of life.
