Algunos buscan que sus hijos inicien una actividad deportiva para que tenga un buen estado físico y de salud, otros para que aprenda un deporte por los beneficios que aportan y no podemos negar que existen quienes pretenden cumplir metas frustradas reflejándose en lo que sus retoños van consiguiendo.

Nosotros los padres tenemos un papel fundamental cuando nuestros hijos practican un deporte, y no es solo por llevarlos que ya cumplimos sino que para ellos es importante nuestro apoyo, estímulo y motivación.

En la práctica deportiva de los niños se observan distintos tipos de padres con comportamientos diferentes, están los que critican todo, tanto al niño como al entrenador.

Aquellos que por haber practicado la misma disciplina deportiva en su niñez y juventud, consideran que saben más que el entrenador (a) y emiten comentarios u opiniones en el entrenamiento.

Los que son indiferentes a los que hacen sus hijos al practicar un deporte en específico, los dejan en los entrenamientos y se van e incluso no les acompañan en los eventos deportivos.

Por último cabe mencionar los padres que colaboran en todo, respetan el rol y autoridad del entrenador y motivan, apoyan y estimulan a sus hijos en la obtención de logros deportivos o simplemente en el disfrute de su actividad deportiva.

Al atleta en su práctica deportiva le influyen su entorno social, deportivo y el familiar. Es allí donde los padres ejercemos una influencia que puede ser positiva o negativa.

Sin embargo, los padres para empezar debemos confiar en los entrenadores a los cuales les hemos dado la confianza de ser los guías de nuestros hijos en la práctica del deporte escogido

Confiar en las capacidades profesionales del cuerpo técnico que acompaña a nuestro hijo atleta.

Brindar acompañamiento, palabras de motivación, apoyo e interés en el deporte y el desempeño de los hijos, sin ejercer mas presión de la recomendada u obligar a la realización de la actividad sin que el niño este identificado con esta.

Es importante darle valor a lo que realiza el niño en el deporte, saber cómo le va, conversar y preguntarle sobre cómo se siente.

Escuchar y Respetar la opinión y el sentir de los hijos hacia el deporte que practica y si desea o no competir, en vez de obligarle.
