Como padres, estamos alarmados por este hecho, sin saber cómo cuidar a nuestros hijos para protegerlos de este virus mortal que ha enlutado a familias de todo el mundo, hoy que ha culminado un año escolar a distancia de nuestros hogares, utilizando diferentes herramientas tecnológicas para cumplir con sus responsabilidades escolares a tiempo.
As parents, we are alarmed by this fact, not knowing how to take care of our children to protect them from this deadly virus that has mourned families worldwide, today that has culminated a school year at a distance from our homes, using different technological tools to meet their school responsibilities on time.
Hoy en día, referente al tema de la conveniencia o no de que nuestros hijos vuelvan a recibir clases en un aula ha sido de mucha controversia, muchos gobiernos en diferentes países han tomado la decisión de que la población estudiantil regrese a clases tomando medidas de bioseguridad para proteger a los alumnos, donde a la larga han tenido que retractarse al observar el aumento de infecciones por COVID.
Today, referring to the issue of whether or not it is convenient for our children to return to receive classes in a classroom has been of much controversy, many governments in different countries have made the decision that the student population return to classes taking biosecurity measures to protect students, where in the long run they have had to retract to observe the increase of COVID infections.
En Venezuela hace más de un año que nuestros niños dejaron las aulas para protegerlos de este virus mortal, después de este tiempo los entes gubernamentales han planteado la posibilidad de que nuestros niños vuelvan a la escuela de manera semipresencial, tomando en cuenta todas las medidas de bioseguridad posibles, pero, aun así, ¿estará sujeto a la realidad que vivimos?
In Venezuela it has been more than a year since our children left the classroom to protect them from this deadly virus, after this time the governmental entities have raised the possibility that our children return to school in a semi-presential way, taking into account all possible biosecurity measures, but, even so, will it be subject to the reality we live in?
¡Lamentablemente no! Estoy hablando de mi experiencia desde que hace un mes tuve que ir a mi lugar de trabajo, una escuela técnica agropecuaria, para realizar las respectivas evaluaciones de recuperación de mis alumnos, donde el director me aseguró que se cumplirían las normas mínimas para protegernos del virus. Cuando llegué a la institución, la realidad era otra. Lamentablemente, observé que los profesores eran los primeros en no cumplir con las normas de bioseguridad, teniendo sus tapaboca en el cuello o en las manos, y qué decir de los alumnos.
Unfortunately not! I am talking about my experience since a month ago I had to go to my place of work, an agricultural technical school, to carry out the respective recovery evaluations of my students, where the director assured me that the minimum standards would be met to protect us from the virus. When I arrived at the institution, the reality was different. Sadly, I observed that the teachers were the first ones not to comply with the biosecurity norms, having their masks on their necks or hands, and what to say about the students.
Este hecho me valió el descontento de mis alumnos, ya que quien no llevaba su tapaboca correctamente no podía entrar en mi clase. Eran momentos desagradables porque mis alumnos veían que, si quienes debían dar ejemplo no la llevaban, no se sentían obligados a hacerlo.
This fact earned me the dissatisfaction of my students, since anyone who did not wear his or her mask correctly was not allowed to enter my classroom. These were unpleasant moments because my students could see that, if those who were supposed to set an example did not wear it, they did not feel obliged to do so.
Ante esta realidad no hay medida de bioseguridad efectiva, si no nos concienciamos de poner en práctica todo aquello que nos protege de una situación que muchos hoy en día muestran su indiferencia, como padres es nuestra responsabilidad velar por la salud de nuestros hijos y expresarles las razones por las que deben cumplir con todas estas medidas aunque sus compañeros y profesores no lo hagan, transmitirles que la vida es un maravilloso regalo de Dios que debemos apreciar.
Faced with this reality there is no effective biosecurity measure, if we do not become aware of putting into practice everything that protects us from a situation that many today show their indifference, as parents it is our responsibility to ensure the health of our children and to express to them the reasons why they must comply with all these measures even though their peers and teachers do not do so, to convey that life is a wonderful gift from God that we must appreciate.
