He estado un poco ausente, algunos ya conocen los motivos, pero quiero compartir con ustedes algo especial.
El pasado jueves, 11 de Marzo fue la promoción escolar de mi segunda niña, Amelie Sophia.
Aquí en la costa de Ecuador, el año escolar inicia a finales de Abril o inicios de mayo y termina finales de Febrero, inicios de Marzo. Por ello, este año escolar concluyó con al promoción de Amelie a primer grado.

I've been a bit absent, some of you already know the reasons, but I want to share with you something special.
Last Thursday, March 11th was the school promotion of my second child, Amelie Sophia.
Here on the coast of Ecuador, the school year starts at the end of April or beginning of May and ends at the end of February, beginning of March. Therefore, this school year ended with Amelie's promotion to first grade.
😱 Primer Grado, lo que esto implicaría según su diagnóstico:
Recibimos el diagnóstico de Amelie, el miércoles 10 de marzo, su autismo es Clásico Moderado, sin embargo su edad en el desarrollo global de su comportamiento es de 10 meses, con un retardo severo. En el desarrollo intelectual, ella tiene una edad de 2 a 3 años.
La edad de nacimiento de Amelie es de 5años, pero esas que les digo, son las edades que ella tiene según su aprendizaje, actitudes y comportamientos, incluyendo el lenguaje, ya que no habla.
La psicóloga aconseja que Amelie siga en Inicial (pre-escolar o kinder) y que siga en una escuela normal y no especial, para que esto la continúe ayudando. Ya que ella necesita estimulaciones que la dan en ese nivel.
😱 Grade 1, what this would imply according to your diagnosis:
We received the diagnosis of Amelie, on Wednesday 10th March, her autism is Classic Moderate, however her age in the global development of her behaviour is 10 months, with a severe delay. In intellectual development, she has an age of 2 to 3 years.
Amelie's age at birth is 5 years, but these are the ages she has according to her learning, attitudes and behaviours, including language, as she does not speak.
The psychologist advises that Amelie should continue in Inicial (pre-school or kindergarten) and that she should remain in a normal school and not in a special school, so that this will continue to help her. She needs the stimulation she is given at this level.
😱 Y entonces, ¿Qué Pasará?
Sí, Amelie tuvo su graduación como los demás niños, fue vía web, su hermana Ammy me ayudó a ponerle el birrete, entregarle el diploma y hacerla sonreír.
Ammy estaba muy feliz de ver a su hermana graduada de pre escolar, sin embargo Amelie, aunque fue promovida, por su bienestar deberá continuar en inicial.
En primer grado deberá estar más tiempo sentada y prestar atención, cosa que ella no hace. Además de esto la clases virtuales atrasaron su avance y adaptación en el ámbito escolar y hay que acostumbrar a Amelie nuevamente a este ambiente.
😱 And then, what will happen?
Yes, Amelie had her graduation like the other children, it was via video call (on-line), her sister Ammy helped me to put on her cap, give her the diploma and make her smile.
Ammy was very happy to see her sister graduate from preschool, however Amelie, although she was promoted, for her sake will have to continue in first grade.
In first grade she will have to sit more and pay attention, which she doesn't do. In addition, the virtual classes have delayed her progress and adaptation to the school environment and Amelie has to re-acclimatise to this environment.
😊 ¿Cómo nos sentimos en cuanto a esto?
Bueno, nosotros éramos los primeros que queríamos que Amelie continuara en inicial, no por que no creamos en que ella puede superarse, si no por que sabemos que necesita seguir allí y adaptarse nuevamente.
Además de esto, la maestra de Amelie es genial, una buena persona, que se ha dado la tarea de adaptar las actividades para ella e incluso con sus recursos fabricar cosas para el avance de Amelie y nos los lleva siempre a casa. Estamos agradecidos con ella.
Estamos orgullosos de nuestra niña, ver como también con sus terapias ha avanzado, eso nos hace felices, tanto, que le hice un meme con algunas de las fotos que tomamos.
😊 How do we feel about this?
Well, we were the first ones who wanted Amelie to continue in initial, not because we don't believe that she can do better, but because we know that she needs to stay there and adapt again.
Besides this, Amelie's teacher is great, a good person, who has taken on the task of adapting the activities for her and even using her resources to make things for Amelie's progress and always takes them home with her. We are grateful to her.
We are proud of our little girl, to see how she has also made progress with her therapies, that makes us happy, so much so, that I made her a meme with some of the photos we took.
Es muy difícil tomarle buenas fotos a Amelie, así que cuando la cámara quiere capturarla, debe dedicarse a ella y tomar varias fotos a la vez para ver si logramos tomar una buena.
It is very difficult to take good pictures of Amelie, so when the camera wants to capture her, it has to be dedicated to her and take several pictures at a time to see if we manage to take a good one.
