The basis of a modern, advanced, cultured society is definitely education. To the extent that a society has more educated people, the more prosperous the society will be.
That is why I firmly believe that education begins in the early years of the child, instilling values, morals, respect and discipline. An educated child will be an educated man, with unwavering values and defined goals.
Teachers during the first years of life mark us. I still remember my third grade teacher. When I came into her hands, she did not know how to write with a capital letter at the beginning of a paragraph, she did not know how to add and subtract. I was way behind the rest of the kids in my class.
The first week of class, she classified us, hahaha, today they would say that it is discriminatory, but it was the best way she found to know what abilities we had.
I remember many times, my classmates would go out for recess and I would stay in the classroom punished, practicing writing, addition or subtraction. Of course I cried, I was a child, but the teacher taught me something and that was perseverance and dedication. With tears in my eyes I did my homework. My goal, to be better every day. By the end of the course I was one of the best in the class.
That teacher challenged me and brought out the best in me at my short 8 years old. And I remember her fondly, even though she had a strong character.
In those early years I was taught not only how to read, basic spelling and math, but also respect, education, kindness, cooperation and a love for my country that grew as the years went by.
By the time I moved on to high school, I was well on my way. I knew exactly what I needed to be the best, to earn the respect of my teachers. But I was also gaining tips and freedoms that other classmates didn't have access to.
By the end of high school, I knew exactly that one day I was going to graduate from college, because that was my life plan. I learned about subjects, but I learned more about setting goals and accomplishing them.

La base de una sociedad moderna, avanzada, culta, definitivamente es la educación. En la medida que una sociedad tenga gente más educada, la sociedad será más prospera.
Es por ello que creo firmemente que la educación comienza en los primeros años del niño, inculcando valores, moral, respeto y disciplina. Un niño educado, será un hombre educado, con valores inquebrantables y metas definidas.
Los maestros durante los primeros años de vida nos marcan. Todavía recuerdo a mi maestra de tercer grado. Cuando llegué a sus manos, no sabía escribir con mayúscula al principio de un párrafo, no sabía sumar y restar. Estaba muy atrasada respecto al resto de los niños de mi salón.
Ella la primera semana de clase, nos clasificó, jajaja , hoy en día dirían que es discriminatorio, pero fue la mejor manera que ella encontró para saber que capacidades teníamos.
Recuerdo muchas veces, que mis compañeros salían al recreo y yo me quedaba en el salón castigada, practicando escritura, suma o resta. Claro que lloraba, era una niña!, pero algo me enseñó la maestra y fue la constancia y dedicación. Con lágrimas en los ojos hacia mis deberes. Mi meta, ser mejor cada día. Para el final de curso era una de las mejores de la clase.
Esa maestra me retó y sacó lo mejor de mí a mis cortos 8 años. Y la recuerdo con mucho cariño, aun cuando tenía un carácter fuerte.
En esos primeros años me enseñaron no solo a leer, reglas básicas de ortografía y matemática, también me enseñaron respeto, educación, amabilidad, cooperación y un amor por mi país que fue creciendo con el pasar de los años.
Para cuando pase a la escuela secundaria, ya tenía un gran camino adelantado. Sabía exactamente que necesitaba ser la mejor, para ganarme el respeto de mis profesores. Pero también con ello, ganaba consejos y libertades a los que otros compañeros de clase no tenían acceso.
Ya a finales de bachillerato sabía exactamente que un día me iba a graduar de la universidad, pues ese era mi plan de vida. Aprendí acerca de materias, pero aprendí más acerca de trazar metas y cumplirlas.
