My home town Kamnik - Slovenia Part 2

After a couple of really mentally draining days at work, I needed to recharge somehow and I did that by doing a lot of mindset work. It normally helps me to stay strong and not get affected by outside circumstances. A lot of breath work and meditation had to be done, but also going back home in my mind. Just thinking about the times when things were easier. You know, when you are a kid and don't know what real life is all about and enjoying your fantasy world which is a world that is harder to reach when you are an adult and already had to go through a lot of struggles.

I already wrote about my home town Kamnik - Slovenia in my previous post. If you haven't checked it yet, here it is @wanderingkat/my-home-town-kamnik-slovenia

With the help of my dad, who kindly sent me more gorgeous pictures of our beautiful town, in my mind, I went back to the days when the biggest struggle in life for me was going to school, when all I wanted to do is ride my bike or spend the entire day on my roller blades - trying to be faster than the previous day without breaking all my bones.

So here it is, many more pictures of this beautiful small town Kamnik.

Kamnik is a town of three castles.

In the city centre, you can get a really nice view of the town with a simple 5 minute walk up the stairs to get to Mali Grad - Little Castle.

If you want to have a nice hike up the hill to get to the Old Castle - Stari Grad, it will take you about an hour, but you also have an option to drive there. The view is definitely worth it and you can have a drink and some food once you get up there - the little cafe there has had its ups and downs but I believe its open now and they offer coffees, drinks, snacks and some traditional Slovenian food you can try out.

Up on the hill is the Old Castle.

There is also Zaprice Castle, which again only takes you 5 minutes up the hill. Check out the cute little houses that are made out of wood and thatched roofs. Sssshhhh, don't tell my parents, but this is where I spent a lot of time hiding while skipping school with my best friend at the time :D

More views of the town

And here is a little preview of one of my future posts. The beautiful Kamniska Bistrica - stay tuned for that one.

It's always good to return home and I can't wait to go there again in real life.

Thanks for watching, see you next time hive tribe!
