Hello Hive family! How are you doing today? Hope to find you well.
One more post from my travel log, want to share with you some insights into this amazing place and who knows, your next destination!
Let's go to Arraial do Cabo • Rio de Janeiro - Brazil
We went to Arraial do Cabo for one weekend with friends. It's a very short time to visit all places and spots, definitely, we are going back soon. Recommend spend more time there.
Reserved one private room at Hostel Mar dos Anjos, very good location, near port and beach, have excellent breakfast, bar and lounge for guest. Also, it has a great fee for a 4.0 score on TripAdvisor.
You are here
Arraial do Cabo, more know just as Arraial, is a small city about 165km east of Rio de Janeiro City, about 2:30 hours by car.
Arriving by boat, Arraial is beautiful, you get enchanted by first sight. Surrounded by gleaming white sand dunes and breathtaking beaches.
I like that small village vibe, people walking around still, riding bicycles, and some small stores that you can find drinks, foods, and Açai cream, my favorite beach food.
The beach has breathtaking landscapes. And it's not so crowded and fuss as the more famous neighboring Búzios, but has the same charm and natural beauty.
The calm and clear water makes Arraial a renowned diving destination. You will easily find companies that take you on boat rides, snorkeling, and scuba dive.
Praia do Porto
Our journey to Praia do Forno starts at Praia do Porto. There has a fishing port in operation, which gives you opportunities to grab some fresh fish.
After walking few minutes, almost a climb, you have this overview from Porto beach.
Praia do Forno
After a while, you will see the amazing Praia do Forno. You are halfway from a walk. Take some time to get some pictures, breath, and now it's all way down...
Get few days to explore nearby beaches and more days to visit strict beaches few minutes boat ride away. Some of them have limited people, so you will have about 1 hour to enjoy and after that need to leave.
Praia do Forno is a short hike from the Port. Around 20~30 minutes in a little steep climb, but easy level, that gift you with a beautiful beach overview from highland.
After this hike, you will get clear and warm water, great for a swim. As the sand area is not that large, sometimes during the weekend and holidays is hard to find a spot. So, get there early.
Keep in mind that Arraial is also a good place to observe whales, whose migration routes pass directly into the sea.
Boat Ride
We took one boat ride to get us to the nearby beach Pontal do Atalaia, passing interesting points, as Pedra Gorila Face, Gruta Azul, and others. Also, we made a stop to eat at a floating restaurant - a break - and more snorkeling.
We have the luck to meet this sea turtle during snorkeling... amazing.
Sunsets
I love sunsets... After a great day, tired from walk and swim, nothing better than sunset to appreciate, meditate and be grateful to another great day!
