Have you ever seen many colorful incense sticks? That was the first time I saw them during my trip to the ancient capital of Hue last year. Each craft village in Vietnam will make different unique products that last for tens to hundreds of years. Thuy Xuan incense village in Hue has existed for a long time, making incense for palaces and worshiping kings in the past
("Non la" - a symbol of Hue ancient capital)
Thuy Xuan Incense Making Village is located in Hue city, very close to Tu Duc Tomb and Vong Canh Hill. This place attracts a lot of tourists because each house is colorful and especially souvenirs there are very cheap (1-1.5 USD)
(The colorful incense village has existed for more than 700 years. The bouquets of red, yellow, and purple colors cluster together like a colorful flower. In particular, they are also very fragrant, reminiscent of the Vietnamese traditional Tet holiday)
I went to Mrs. Tuyet's house, she was nearly 90 years old but still kept the job of making incense. She is very kind and friendly. She told me that she was one of the first people to make incense in Thuy Xuan village. After that, she also taught me how to make incense. Since it was my first time doing it, I got it wrong and the incense was broken 😁. Ms Tuyet is very happy that more visitors travel to Thuy Xuan village to explore their culture and tradition. She hopes this village will always making incense and exist for a long time in the future
(Incense products. After being a stick, it'll be dried)
If you have the opportunity to visit this idyllic village, try making your own incense. And don't forget to buy pretty souvenirs. All are made entirely by hand such as paper fans, incense, oil paintings, keychains
Thank you so much for reading my post. Wish you a happy day and full of joy!
