¡Saludos a todos! En esta quinta y última parte de mi viaje por el estado Amazonas, al sur de Venezuela, les mostraré algunos hermosos lugares que visitamos en este pulmón vegetal del mundo, específicamente balnearios y un increíble paseo a una playa del río Orinoco.
Being its nature the main attraction of Amazonas, our objective was to be able to immerse ourselves even a little in it with the resources we had: a car, little money and a lot of desire.
Siendo el principal atractivo del Amazonas su naturaleza, nuestro objetivo era poder sumergirnos aunque sea un poco en ella con los recursos que teníamos: un carro, poco dinero y muchas ganas.
This is the second largest state in Venezuela (183,500 km2) and in its territory there are four National Parks: Serranía de la Neblina, Yapacana, Duida-Marahuaca and Parima-Tapirapecó. Here is also the highest index of indigenous groups in the country.
Este es el segundo estado más grande de Venezuela (183.500 Km2) y en su territorio hay cuatro Parques Nacionales: Serranía de la Neblina, Yapacana, Duida-Marahuaca y Parima-Tapirapecó. Aquí también está el mayor índice de grupos indígenas del país.
Being able to see all its wonders would take months and a high budget because many of the places are not easily accessible, or you can reach them through the river or by plane, so this time we visited what we had within our reach.
Poder ver todas sus maravillas llevaría meses y un alto presupuesto porque muchos de los lugares no son de fácil acceso, o se llega a través del río o con avioneta, por eso nosotros esta vez visitamos lo que teníamos a nuestro alcance.
In total we spent six days in Amazonas and the last three were spent exploring some of its spas. First we went to visit Blue Well, which is about 30 km from Puerto Ayacucho, along the northern highway.
En total estuvimos seis días en Amazonas y los últimos tres los dedicamos a explorar algunos de sus balnearios. Primero nos fuimos a conocer Pozo Azul, que queda a unos 30 Km de Puerto Ayacucho, por el eje carretero norte.
The day was quite hot, we arrived at the place, we parked the car and we took a turn to see. There are many trees and vegetation surrounding the canal, I was impressed by the white sand at the bottom and the color of the water, I think I have never seen river waters so crystal clear.
El día estaba bastante caluroso, llegamos al lugar, estacionamos el carro y dimos una vuelta para ver. Hay muchos árboles y vegetación rodeando el canal, me impresionó la arena blanca del fondo y el color del agua, creo que nunca había visto aguas de río tan cristalinas.
In Blue Well there is infrastructure for visitors such as: churuatas (indigenous hut), barbecue pits, picnic areas and walkways.
En Pozo Azul hay infraestructura para los visitantes como: churuatas, parrilleras, zonas para picnic y caminerías.
We left our things on top of a fallen tree trunk that was near the well and we went into the water to enjoy it, it is shallow and its temperature was not cold or perhaps we didn't feel it that way because it was hot.
Nosotros dejamos nuestras cosas encima de un tronco de árbol caído que estaba cerca del pozo y nos metimos al agua a disfrutar, es poco profundo y su temperatura no era fría o quizás no la sentimos así porque hacía calor.
I was alert in case I saw an anaconda in the water hahaha, you never know ... I did find an animal, this cute dog who also wanted to cool off a bit.
Yo estaba alerta por si veía alguna anaconda dentro del agua jajaja, nunca se sabe… sí me encontré a un animal, este lindo perro que también quería refrescarse un poco.
In the surroundings of the well there are clay deposits, so we didn't miss the opportunity to smear ourselves with this mineral that leaves the skin very soft.
En los alrededores del pozo hay yacimientos de arcilla, así que no perdimos la oportunidad de embadurnarnos de este mineral que deja la piel muy suave.
There are also many moriche trees (Mauritia flexuosa), a palm highly appreciated by the indigenous people, with it they make many beautiful and useful things: basketry, tools, hammocks, roofs for their homes, among others.
También hay muchos árboles de moriche (Mauritia flexuosa), una palma muy apreciada por los indígenas, con ella hacen muchas cosas bellas y útiles: cestería, herramientas, hamacas, techos para sus viviendas, entre otras.
Then we went to Crystal Well, which is near Blue Well, to bathe there as well. Here the vegetation is much thicker around the water channels, it is a gallery forest, which creates a somewhat mysterious atmosphere. I went in there a bit to take some photos.
Luego nos fuimos a Pozo Cristal, que queda cerca de Pozo Azul, para bañarnos allí también. Aquí la vegetación es mucho más tupida alrededor de los canales de agua, es un bosque de galería, lo que crea un ambiente algo misterioso. Me adentré un poco por allí para tomar algunas fotos.
There is a lot of fauna in Amazonas such as jaguars, pumas, tapirs, monkeys, an infinity of reptiles, insects and birds, although to see it you have to go to more remote places, what we could see here were several birds but I couldn't photograph any.
Hay mucha fauna en Amazonas como jaguares, pumas, dantas, monos, infinidad de reptiles, insectos y aves, aunque para verla hay que ir a sitios más apartados, lo que pudimos ver por aquí fueron varias aves pero no pude fotografiar ninguna.
For the next day we had planned to go to San Fernando de Atabapo, there our friend Douglas has family and we were going to take the opportunity to stay one night and get to know this town which can be reached by river in about three hours from the Port of Samariapo, but when we got there there were no boats leaving due to lack of fuel.
Para el día siguiente teníamos planeado irnos para San Fernando de Atabapo, ahí nuestro amigo Douglas tiene familia e íbamos a aprovechar para quedarnos una noche y conocer esta población a la cual se llega por el río en unas tres horas desde el Puerto de Samariapo, pero cuando llegamos allí no había embarcaciones saliendo por falta de combustible.
In order not to lose our trip to that area, Douglas told us that we would go to the Port of Morganito, near there, where he had a cousin who could perhaps give us a ride to a beach on the Orinoco river.
Para no perder nuestro viaje hacia esa zona, Douglas nos dijo que iríamos hasta el Puerto de Morganito, cerca de allí, donde tenía un primo que quizás podría darnos un paseo a una playa del río Orinoco.
On the way we met again black stones scattered around, something characteristic of Amazonas in contrast to the intense green.
En la vía nos volvimos a encontrar con piedras negras desperdigadas por ahí, algo característico del Amazonas en contraste con el intenso verdor.
We arrived at Morganito around 10:30 in the morning and Douglas met his cousin, who told us that at noon we would sail on the river. Meanwhile we walked around the place.
Llegamos a Morganito como a las 10:30 de la mañana y Douglas se encontró con su primo, quien nos dijo que al mediodía navegaríamos por el río. Mientras tanto dimos una vuelta por el lugar.
From here you take the boats to reach places that can only be accessed by river or air, such as Isla Ratón and the municipalities of Alto Orinoco, San Carlos de Río Negro and Maroa.
Desde aquí se toman las lanchas para llegar a sitios a los que sólo se accede de forma fluvial o aérea como Isla Ratón y los municipios Alto Orinoco, San Carlos de Río Negro y Maroa.
His cousin also began to cook a fish on the wood in that barrel that you see in the photo so that we could all eat during the route. It was payara, a typical fish of this region.
Su primo además se puso a cocinar un pescado a la leña en ese barril que ven en la foto para que todos comiéramos durante el paseo. Era payara, un pescado típico de esta región.
The sky had become cloudy shortly before embarking, we got on the boat over the majestic Orinoco, the largest river in Venezuela and the third in South America and shortly after it began to rain a lot.
El cielo se había nublado poco antes de embarcar, nos montamos en la lancha sobre el majestuoso Orinoco, el río más grande de Venezuela y el tercero de Suramérica y poco después comenzó a llover muchísimo.
When we got to the river beach 15 minutes later, little by little it stopped raining and the sun appeared like a glow giving the water an incredible shine.
Cuando llegamos a la playa de río 15 minutos después, poco a poco dejó de llover y el sol apareció como un resplandor dándole un brillo increíble al agua.
We wasted no time and immediately submerged, it was the first time I had bathed in the Orinoco river, stepping on the sandy bottom was very pleasant and the water temperature was warm. What did scare me a little was not seeing the bottom, because the waters are dark.
No perdimos tiempo y nos sumergimos de una vez, era la primera vez que me bañaba en el río Orinoco, pisar el fondo de arena fue muy agradable y la temperatura del agua estaba tibia. Lo que sí me dio un poco de miedo fue no ver el fondo, porque las aguas son oscuras.
Apart from us, we were eight, there were two or three other people here. The place is surrounded by a lot of vegetation, we took a short walk to dry ourselves a bit and then we sat down to eat the payara that Douglas's cousin gave us, that fish was delicious.
Aparte de nosotros, que éramos ocho, había dos o tres personas más aquí. El lugar está rodeado de mucha vegetación, hicimos una breve caminata para secarnos un poco y luego nos sentamos a comer la payara que nos brindó el primo de Douglas, estaba delicioso ese pescado.
Almost at 4:00 in the afternoon we started back to the port, the sky was still cloudy but it didn't rain anymore. We were in the boat very revitalized, the bath in the river recharged us with energy.
Casi a las 4:00 de la tarde emprendimos el regreso al puerto, el cielo seguía nublado pero no llovió más. Íbamos en la embarcación muy revitalizados, el baño en el río nos recargó de energía.
Definitely Amazonas state has great potential for tourism, there are many people who offer tours here but it seems to me that there is a lack of policies to promote it more seriously, it would greatly benefit the people and contribute to ending illegal mining, which as I have read has been scattered throughout many places of this geography deteriorating its spectacular nature.
Definitivamente el estado Amazonas tiene un gran potencial para el turismo, hay mucha gente que ofrece tours aquí pero me parece que faltan políticas para impulsarlo más seriamente, beneficiaría mucho a la gente y contribuiría a acabar con la minería ilegal, que según he leído se ha esparcido por muchos lugares de esta geografía deteriorando su espectacular naturaleza.
