Hello everyone,
Today I am going to write about Kullu’s Dussehra festival held in Kullu every year for seven days. It’s an international festival with over million gathering of people, about 370-380 deities and many traders from lower India.
The Dussehra of Kullu is one of a kind. We don’t burn ravan here on the day of Dussehra but here the Dussehra last for 7 days in a row. The photographs I captured are from day 1. The biggest and most important part of the whole feat. The Rathayatra.
The biggest thing you can see in the photograph is the Rath of Raghunath, and other things are the holy deities of Kullu valley. They gather together along with many people to pull this Rath.
The Rath along with three main deities take part in this first day event.
A huge mela is held here from day 1. The mela lasts till diwali that is about 20 days ahead of day 1.
Just look at amount of people there. You can imagine the popularity of the festival from the pictures.
The Dussehra is a festival of victory of good on evil. It’s a very famous festival of India but Kullu Dussehra is the most unique and one of a kind.
It was a completely different vibe just standing here.
You should see this festival once in your lifetime.
