In this post I'll share with you our family vacation spent on the Romanian Black Sea shore, in Mamaia resort.
This summer we visited some really nice places in Romania, but that's another story to tell. There's no year without going in vacation to the sea 🌊. We also love going to Greece, but in these days, with the pandemic and all those travel restrictions , we choose to go to Romanian Coast. 
From all beaches and resorts we have on the Romanian seaside, we chose Mamaia. It's the most popular resort from Romania, but it has many beaches and it's divided into several areas/zones like Mamaia Sat (Mamaia Village), North Mamaia or just Mamaia (the most popular area).
We actually stayed in Mamaia Village, which is in the north of the resort, where the beach is beautiful, wide enough, with 'smooth' entry into the water, being perfect for families with kids. Also I found it not as noisy and crowded as the other resorts (like Mamaia, Costinesti, Eforie Nord, Eforie Sud, Vama Veche)
Here you'll find thousands of commodities, from small appartments and family appartments to luxury villas and hotels. You can find a few supermarkets around, gas stations and mini boutiques (these are not cheap btw).
ABOUT THE BEACH: (Mamaia Village)
The beach here is fine.
I mean that....I can't compare it with Greece BUT it's fine. It's clean enough, it has golden sand, the entry in the water is slow, without pits. You can go further into the sea for about 200 m and still reach the sand with your feet.
There are plenty of umbrellas and sunbeds, but you need to pay for them. The price depends on the beach, but to make an idea, consider 2 sunbeds under one umbrella for 20$, more or less.
This year the beach was full of jellyfish, but we also found lots of anemonas and a little crab. 🦀
Usually, the beach is free of algae and that is wonderful.
My two and a half kid was very happy playing in the sand with his numbers and his plastic sand toys.
We also build a Sand Castle.
He loved to stay on the sunbed playing with the shells we picked up, with his toys, me reading books and ofc, sleeping next to mommy! My heart :x:x
ABOUT THE FOOD:
In Mamaia Village, there are few restaurants and taverns. There are not as many as the other resorts but it's quite enough. In my opinion, two three more food places and would be fine.
Mamaia is said to be the most expensive resort on the Romanian Black Sea coast, but idk...I think it depends on every each of us, what expectations do we have, our budget and how much money do we have for spending.

WALKING on the beach on SUNSET
We went on a walk on sunset! It was magical! I love sunsets in the beach...but let's face it...who doesn't?
I took the carrier with me, cause you know how kids are and how fast are they getting tired. I LOVE BABY WEARING and over the time I had a lot of carriers. Just so you know, I talk about the ergonomics one... This one in the pictures is a toodler carrier from Fidella, suitable for toddlers. A few months later and I have to change it with a preschooler carrier.
PICKING UP SEA SHELLS
We picked up lots of shells which is a tradition. It's that kind of activity that you never get bored of!
Every kid loves to play with them and actually, we took some at home and I prepared for my son an easy and fun activity to make, a Rainbow Fish made of colored shells. You can see it here. But he played with them on the beach too. :x
TRIP TO THE AQUARIUM CONTANTA AND PROMENADE
One day, we went in Constanta City, to see the Aquarium. It is opened from 10 to 9 or 10 p.m. The entry costs about 10$.
I dont really liked it cause there's no much to see but eh...if you have kids and they passionate about fish or you want them to see and analyze those little creatures, then defintely its a yes.
The Aquarium ( Acvariul Constanta) is on the Queen Elisabeth Boulevard, near the Old Casino and Promenade Constanta (Seafront area with a landmark derelict art nouveau–style casino building.)
After visiting the Aquarium, we took a walk on the Promenade. That place is really nice, unless is windy!
In the end, this one week vacation was just perfect, with lot of resting time, eating out 🥗 , spending time on the beach ⛱️, wave sounds 🌊 waching this little kid discovering things and himself, walking and taking photos 📷, creating memories and enjoying family life 👪!
