The Kingdom of Cambodia is a country in Southeast Asia that borders Thailand, Laos and Vietnam. The Kingdom’s history could be said to begin with the Khmer Empire which existed from the 9th century to the 15th century. At this time, Angkor, the empire's capital, was at its height and became an important world centre for trade and religion.
Angkor Wat
Angkor Thom
I had always dreamed of visiting Cambodia, especially Angkor Wat, and fortunately, in 2015 I had chance to make it when my friends invited me to join them a 10 days journey explore one of our neighbour countries. To be honest, I can't remember much about where we had been to and the name of all the temples we had visited but the memory about a Cambodia with a great historical buildings, friendly people and great street foods still stay in my mind. And please forgive me as my photos did not have good quality because it was taken quite long time ago and by my ancient phone as well, but it's also describe exactly the way I remember about Cambodia, a bit dusted by time.

Angkor Wat is a well-known temple in Cambodia. It was built in the 12th century by King Suryavarman II, and is one of the world's largest religious monuments. This UNESCO World Heritage Site has been praised by travellers for its architectural beauty and spiritual significance. The temple was originally built as a Hindu temple to honour the god Vishnu, but was later adapted into a Buddhist shrine after the Hindu empire ended. One thing you should never miss when visiting Cambodia is watching sunset and sunrise on the temple.
Nearby Angkor Wat, there are many other ancient temples to visit such as Angkor Thom and Bayon temple. These temples spread throughout the area and offer visitors the feeling of walking through history to see these remarkable structures.
Ta Prohm Temple
Looking at these old photos, I really want to visit Cambodia again soon. I hope all these ancient buildings can last with time as more works are done to preserve this spectacular heritage.
Thank you so much for reading my post!
