La Fouly - Champex - Plan de l´Au - Bovine

In the morning, I am waking up in a warm bed and getting up quickly as there is a fresh breakfast waiting for us in the hotel restaurant. I can´t wait for fresh croissants and guys are still talking about scrambled eggs which they are not getting, in the end. Still, we are satisfied and happy and we are leaving the hotel. We appreciated having hot shower, warm bed and fresh breakfast so much that we were leaving with a feeling that it was the best hotel we stayed in although it was just a Swiss average hotel.
Fortunately, it is not raining any more and we are walking through the village...
... part of our way is leading through forests...
... and along a river.
Our usual stop is to talk to cows - we just can never avoid them.
We are coming to another village where we are having a short break and ice cream.
Later on, the signs on the way are taking us to a forest and we are ascending again.
It is said that the third day of a trip is usually the critical one. However, for me, it is today - day 5. It seems to be the least interesting day and there are not so many exciting moments for me.
I was quite pleased with the look at these nice sunflowers.
After entering Champex, which is about 15 km far from La Fouly where we stayed, we are coming to this large lake.
We are having a rest in a café to wait for the rain to stop again and we are having a delicious coffee with mousse au chocolate - something typical of this area.
In the meantime, the supermarket opposite to the café has been opened and we are going to get some food. Later on, standing in fron of the shop and having a snack, we are meeting two guys talking in Czech. We are spending another hour by chatting with them as they are from the same country.
We are ascending again. After a while, we are coming across a pony and we are just talking to him as if he could understand. We all are really tired.
In some meters, we are amused by this colourful dustbin.
And then, another steep hill up in front of us.
Sometimes, we are even crossing small rivers, jumping over stones.
I am not enjoying that much but eating blueberries is turning my way to a more pleasant activity. Fortunately, the neverending journey is offering some nice views again.
It is getting dark and we are looking for some spot to sleep. We can´t decide, nothing seems to be perfect and then, in the end, we are building our tents on a totally wet meadow.
It is starting to rain, the raindrops are falling to our soups, all is wrong. I am sweaty, wet, tired and cold. I am going to "bed". For today, we have done 27 km, 1340 m of ascent and 1100 m of descent.
