En esta ocasión vengo a compartir unas fotografías que capture en la Fundación Zoológico Santa Cruz ubicado en el municipio de San Antonio del Tequendama, departamento de Cundinamarca a unos 9 Kilómetros del Salto del Tequendama.
Este Zoológico hace una labor muy interesante ya que se dedica a cuidar los animales que son rescatados del trafico ilegal de Fauna, también cuida de los animales exóticos que pretendían ser domesticados o también llamado mascotismo.
Algunos de los animales recuperados son liberados nuevamente pero los que pertenecen en este sitio es por que no pueden ser liberados, ya que han perdido algunos comportamientos de su instinto y serian presa fácil en su entorno, por esta razón son cuidados en este sitio.

On this occasion I come to share some photographs that they capture at the Santa Cruz Zoological Foundation located in the municipality of San Antonio del Tequendama, department of Cundinamarca about 9 kilometers from the Tequendama Falls.
This Zoo does a very interesting job since it is dedicated to taking care of the animals that are rescued from the illegal traffic of Fauna, it also takes care of the exotic animals that pretended to be domesticated or also called mascotism.
Some of the recovered animals are released again but those that belong on this site is because they cannot be released, since they have lost some behaviors of their instincts and would be easy prey in their environment, for this reason they are cared for on this site.
Antes de comenzar compartiendo las fotografías me gustaría aclarar que no me agrada mucho el hecho que encierren en jaulas a animales que deberían estar libres. Aunque me tranquiliza saber que los animales que viven en el zoológico Santa Cruz se han salvado de un final peor.
Este paseo en el zoológico lo hice en compañía de mis hermanos, unos amigos y mi novia. A continuación verán una selfie que nos tomamos con mi novia en el bus que nos llevo ese día al zoológico.

Cuando llegamos al Zoológico y nos dispusimos a iniciar el recorrido por el sitio, recibimos una mala noticia uno de los animales mas hermosos de zoológico había fallecido hace un par de meses por su avanzada edad, este animal era el oso y era muy querido en el zoológico tanto así que le hicieron un cuadro en homenaje a el y lo podrán ver a continuación.

En las fotografías no se logra ver perfectamente el tigrillo pero se alcanza ver que estaba dormido, el ocelote pertenece a la familia de los felinos y es el tercero mas grande de Colombia, solo lo supera el jaguar y el puma. Es un animal solitario y nocturno y su piel es amarilla con puntos y rosetas negras, realiza unos sonidos muy parecidos a los gatos domésticos.
Su hábitat natural puede ser zonas montañosas, zonas de espesa vegetación, bosques de manglares y pastizales. Se pueden encontrar desde el sur de Estados unidos hasta Sudamérica. Se alimentan de roedores, aves, serpientes y lagartos.

Su peso ronda entre 4-12 Kg, su altura es de alrededor de 25 Cm y 103Cm de largo.
Su hábitat natural puede ser en quebradas, lagos, manglares, costas y llanuras. Suelen encontrarse en centro y sur América. Estos animales normalmente se alimentan de huevos, anfibios, crustáceos y frutas.

Suele habitar selvas tropicales, sabanas, desiertos, pastizales y zonas bajas en las montañas, se puede encontrar en la India y África. Se alimenta de búfalos, cebras, gacelas y del jabalí.
