The best time to photograph the beauty of a beach is when it's empty, that's why I went to this so called "beach" in October and also early in the morning because later most likely it would have been filled with people eager to do outdoor activities and in the evening with partying people.
This beach is called "Weekend" and it situates in a 40 hectare land in Targu Mures, Romania. It's a place for leisure and fun, besides sports. If you've missed my previous post, you can check it out here. Today I'm going to show you the rest of the place.
Right at the entrance, on the left side there's a bay of the canal, there's a dead end, where there are these wooden cabins lined up on both sides. At the time of my visit, some of them were going through small reparation works as it's off season now, while others were empty.
There's so much green space here, I imagine it must be nice to enjoy the shade during the summer or just sunbath on the lawn.
There's a covered swimming pool, that is used for swimming competitions and water polo. At the time of my visit there was a polo match going on in there.
There are three open air pools, the one on the photo is the biggest one.
This is the middle one in which the water is not so deep.
This is the smallest one for kids, with a little bridge that must be a lot of fun to cross.
Next to the smallest pool there's the playground for kids. This is very important and useful too as kids got bored easily, you can't keep them in the pool all they, besides it's not very healthy either, so when they had enough, they can enjoy the rest of the day trying out these fun things.
This green frog is actually a garbage bin, which is a good idea as it helps kids learn to keep the place clean and throw every piece of waste into the right bin.
These must be fun but some fixing will be needed next year.
Pubs were also closed because as I said, it was too early, but I bet later these were all full.
I saw the University or Medicine and Pharmacy has a cabin there, quite a large one actually. I hope students are allowed to use it for free.
If you want a funny photo, here's your chance. You can be Tom, Jerry, or Minnie, your choice. I'm sure kids love it as it's funny.
This is a huge business, that is suffering still. Last year the whole place was shut down due to covid. This year was a little bit different as certain restrictions were lifted, the beach was open, pubs, restaurants and bars were allowed to open, but only in certain conditions. Social distancing had to be respected. I can't even begin to imagine the financial loss these restrictions have caused to the business owners.
However, this situation can't take forever. I hope next year will be better and life can turn back to normal. This place is like a green spot of the city and a way to recharge batteries for many. It attracts tourists from all over the country.
