STREET ART #77 – An English Pub in Kristiansand (Norway)

01.jpg

Walking the short passage to get to the Victoria Pub is almost like walking in London. A local artist has been decorating the otherwise grey walls leading to an English Pub in Kristiansand. The pub has an entrance from the main pedestrian street in town. I have past in many times but without actually looking into the alley leading to the pub itself. The wall is painted with images that leaves you in no doubt about where that is.

The artist, Sedin Zunic is a well known and very active street artist in Kristiansand. I think most of my posts from Kristiansand have at least one mural done by him. Orginally he is from Bosnia, but came to Norway in 1983.

Together with Ane B. Skjævesland he has been responsible for many of the art projects in town. They have estabelished CoolArt and through this company they have started many projects. One of them is Sea Invaders, a voluntary organization. The goal for them is to focus on marine life and how to protect it. There are many powerboxes in town decorated with marine life, done by Sea Invaders.
